on JackSucksAtGeography we upload a range of easy to watch geography related games. We mainly play Sporcle games like "naming all 197 countries". I successfully learned all 197 countries and plan to learn more Geography trivia. On this channel I also play Geoguessr. This is a game that uses Google Street View to drop you in a random location and you have to work out exactly where you are on the worldwide map. Geoguessr was created in 2013. Fun fact during the early stages of COVID some of the Australian states sent people with COVID to Christmas Island to isolate.

Fun fact the island used in the thumbnail of this video is called Kiritimati and is in Kiribati. As ‘ti’ is pronounced more like a ‘ss’ sound in Kiribati the island’s name is pronounced Kirissmass, this is because its English name is shared with Australia’s Christmas Island.

Btw, there is another Christmas island in Kiribati, which you used for the Thumbnail. It's also very interesting, because the villages there have names such as London, Paris, Poland and Banana

Christmas Island doesn't have the blue-footed booby. They're native to the *eastern* Pacific like the Galápagos, Gulf of California (Mexico), and Peru. The red-footed booby are the ones native to Christmas Island as well as much of the Pacific and Indian Oceans from Madagascar to Hawaii. The Brown and Abbott's booby are also found there, and the Abbott's are ONLY found on the island and unfortunately endangered. And Christmas Island isn't the only island famous for its mass crab migration. Cuba has their crab migration too from late March to April (so if you don't want to go all the way to Australia, you can just go to Cuba). Female red land crabs go out from the forests to the coastline to release their eggs into the Caribbean Sea. Unlike Christmas Island, Cuba doesn't have any crab bridges so they must watch out for vehicles as they cross highways. Ironically, the most famous location of this Cuban crab migration is the Bay of Pigs. Crabs were successful in invading the Bay of Pigs, yet the US wasn't. Funny how that works

The US wasn’t successful because when the day of the invansion came they didn’t want to look bad so tried to hide them actually invading even though everyone knew. This led to mass downgrade in everything. Soliders to guns to almost everything you need in a war. That is why the war ended in disaster

If you want to look at more holiday themed places, I would recommend Santa Claus, Indiana. It's a small town with a lot of Christmas and winter sights and activities, and as someone who's been there a couple times, I think it would be worth checking out.

I visited Christmas Island in 2005. Unfortunately I left just before it was crab season - the crabs have right of way so cars often get stuck waiting for the crabs to leave the road. Thank you for posting this!

I think the crab rave video is inspired by The Prodigy’s ‘Fat of the Land’ album cover. The album is one of the most influential rave albums so it makes sense that crab rave inspired the video based off of it
