I gotta agree with this guy. Wrasse are maybe my favorite type of fish. Can't beat the colors and they are usually peaceful fish as well as open water swimmers.
When I had sand in my tanks, I found conchs to be amazing at keeping the sand clean and turned over. You don't need hundreds of snails to keep the sand clean!

Metal halide rules! Healthy tank full of strong colors, natural growth speed, and amazing colony formation! Light quality with real full spectrum and proper intensity is the number 1 for that difference! Very healthy tank! Very important to keep thee bottom corals well lit with the 400W over a tank so tall. Interesting that he changes from 400W to 250W bulbs here and there. Hard to find someone that runs halides like that. Do you happen to know what ballasts and bulbs (brand and kelvins) that he is using? If not, could you please ask him? Thanks for sharing!
When the tank is redone every two years how are the corals moved? In other words are they glued to a main rock structure and broken off to move them and re-glued or is each coral on its own rock and the rock with the coral attached just picked up and moved?
i’m not sure if he really does this low maintenance, that paxbellum explodes with algae fast. i love the look of the tank. and his coral collection. the tank is about 15 years old as well? he’s not concerned witg a possible replacement in the future?
He should look into kalkwasser slurry dosing. The milky slurry at the bottom when you mix kalk. Its more potent and you can dose it like anything else. More effective than kalkwasser in the ato.
All my coral apart from my bubble coral, blasos and mushrooms died so now I’m just gonna let them overrun the tank and just go full softie mode bc I have no time to take care of the tank anymore and can only keep coral that can tolerate the toxic environment I put them in

On Convict tangs; Buy just one. Put it in a smallish tank by itself or with fish that will absolutely not bother it. Get it on nori and pellets. Feed it until it is fat and don't expose it to any other tangs or aggressive fish until it is about three inches long. It will be bulletproof from there. The biggest problem with them is just getting them to settle down. They do very poorly with any type of aggression. They do very poorly with other tangs until they settle in. If people would let them settle down and fatten up before they put them in with other tangs they would not have such a bad reputation.
