I've been living in thailand for 7 years now. First time when I saw thai letters , I thought it would be so difficult to learn. 3 years ago, I tried to practice thai slowely. Once you understand basic thai consonants and vowels, you will find pleasure of learning. Any languages have easy part and hard part. Take your time everyday like 10 minutes a day. I like to watch MThai video because it is simple to watch. For me, the videos here are very helpful to learn thai by myself. Recently, I am learning basic vowels at home and I notice that I can read more thai expresson when I see them. Cheer up! Do not give up. Practice will make your thai better!

I’m Thai but I moved to America at a young age so I basically have the sounds down and I can understand but I have trouble speaking a bit and I can’t write or read. I’ve figured out the alphabet in the 3 days with abt 7 hours total of study time. Here’s some tips: -it will be hard at he start but as you go along you WILL start to see patterns. You can compare similar looking letters as you go like ก and ฌ (they have the same head. I chose ก because it’s simple -if you have trouble with pronunciation the you should listen to the alphabet song. Right the sound in English right next to the Thai letter over and over. Repetition is key. Sometimes also compare the sounds to each other. If I remember ศ then I will remember ษ -If you hav trouble with writing the word itself then you should compare it to similar letters like ฎ is ก with a loopdy loop at the bottom (idk that’s just how I think). You should write the word slowly and make an analysis with the parts that you are doing wrong - if you have trouble writing this then you should print out the Thai alphabet on paper, put another piece of paper over it, and trace -It will get A LOT easier towards the end. At first I had to write the word 10+ times to get it right but towards the end I wrote it about 5 times but this cause I understand what the mean. The ones I don’t understand I have to do 10+ times even at the end. I’m not good with explaining but I hope that helps

Thai language in everyday life is not as difficult as you think. The Thai language that Thai people learn is in depth Thai language. Such as royal language, a lot of poetry, important Thai literature or Pali Sanskrit language in Thai, death words, etc., which are rarely used in everyday life. So this is not too difficult to learn. Don't give up☺️☺️ Su Su สู้ๆ

I know following alphabets/scripts - Latin, Cyrillic, Hellenic, Arabic, Tamil, and currently learning Thai and Chinese characters. Chinese characters are unparalleled, no doubt, but among the "normal" scripts Thai is probably the hardest one to master! Still, I believe once you've learned it it's easier to write/read than in Arabic/Persian/Urdu where they omit half of the vowels.

I can speak 3 languages Tagalog,English and Japanese. And now I’m learning Korean:) Korean and Japanese letters is easy to write but hard to read and for Thai letters I realized write and read are both difficult😅

Don't give up on learning how to write Thai consonants, people. They're like, start with head and end with tail. I'm so Thai, but still can't write it properly either. 😂😂😂
