Hey everyone! Welcome back, I finally got my dream car and now it's time to learn how to drive it. Welcome to me learning to drive manual. What manual did you learn on? see y'all next Saturday, -b
Well done, when you get to Europe you won't have to pay a premium to rent an automatic! I had it easy when I learned to drive a standard, the first standard I drove was a "3 in the tree" - a column mounted 3 speed transmission which was very forgiving. I remember teaching my best friend, we were driving along in 4th and came to a steep hill we started going up and I told him to downshift, he was too nervous and eventually the car stalled. Fortunately we were on a lightly travelled country road and were able to roll back down. Some standards have are easier while others (like an Acura 5 speed I owned in the 90s) are very precise and remember VWs have a unique shift pattern.
That’s a fun story! And sounds like fun car too. A reason I wanted to start with a BRZ was the fact that it was forgiving like you mentioned with the other kinds of cars. Very smooth and easy to drive, the clutch is the smoothest I’ve personally come across! Dominic doesn’t like it, he says he needs a little more to his 😂
