I did 8.2 hours with Mike Seager and only have 200 hours (almost all in a Piper Archer 3). My first flight happened a couple weeks ago and now I have 6 hours in my very own RV-14A. These planes are incredibly easy to fly but there's A LOT to get used to. Highly recommend going up to Vernonia and just allowing yourself to be completely immersed in the transition training. If you go and stay at the Carpenter House make sure you sign the guest book!
I am really thinking about doing that. I do have some friends with a 14 I can fly with locally, but to get the experience from the best is a very attractive idea.
@@N14VE it was an amazing experience. Vernonia is is magic little town. It’s really indescribable. For me it was really good to leave my home and my family and just immerse myself into the plane for 3 days. Mike is an excellent CFI also. Took care of my BFR and any endorsements I needed. The first thing he does is ask you where you are and what’s your goal. Then he spends every second getting your ready to achieve that goal as well as making sure you have the proper endorsements needed to fly your first flight (if that’s what you choose to do)
