Guys thanks for all the excellent comments AND thanks for the clarification about the spotting flare. Apparently it does work for squadmates but they just cannot see the radius. They should be able to see the enemies it spots though.
I've gotten decent at sniping now. Maybe I'm an it stubborn but I never pull out my pistol unless it's an extreme emergency. It's only made me better. Hell, I even head-shotted a guy off his horse while he was charging at me with his sword from about 5 meters right before he got a chance to chop my head off. It was glorious!
Whenever I play this map I use the Martini Henry and boy does it get the job done, especially by the bridge like average sniper mentioned. I do recommend having your Squad for this Map, working as a team, will make things ten times easier. Great video Average Sniper.
I just want to take this time to give average sniper the credit he deserves. after seeing a recent video about bullying and negative comments I think maybe he should see the other side. Yes, you will always get negative comments but the positive comments by far outweigh them. I have only recently played battlefield 1. I've maybe played for 4 hours. I've also only just got into the battlefield games in general. I'm a fifa player. I played call of duty back on call of duty 4. back ops 1 and 2 and I played a little bit of ghosts but it's never really been as fun as cod 4 was. however in the few hours I played bf1 I thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately I work 70 hour weeks so I don't really have the time. So, my replacement is watching videos on RU-vid of it. I had no knowledge of average sniper up until 2 weeks ago but he's by far my favourite too watch. almost every thing I know about bf1 (which is quite a lot, just haven't had the chance to put it into practice) is down too average sniper and his videos. He has my upmost respect and I hope he continues doing what he does. his content truly is top quality and sooner or later, with a bit of time I'm sure his popularity on RU-vid will increase. going back to the negative comment and how it mentioned that he works and he spends all his time playing this. who cares. If you do what you love and keep on doing it, even through the bad times. Master it. It will become your job. You wouldn't have to work. Just keep doing what you're doing. I abhor the sights on the carbine though. I really wish I could just stay with the regular irons instead of the "red dot" that you get on the carbine. I find it obstructs my view more than it does help it.
at great spot is if if your base is near foxtrot, run through echo and turn left. run to the end of the street with the rubble and barbwire. by hiding in the barbwire you have a. Lear view of all enemies running on echo. it's a killfest and they can't see you.
Yo you are 100% wrong on spotting flare doesn't work for your team, I don't understand where you got that from. Also, when your team gets kills from your spotting flare, you get a "spot flare assist".

you should deploy your tripmines better, how you do it the enemy sees them whan walking up to the door. the tripwire always expands in the direction you are looking at when placing the mine. So the best way to do it is you stand at the side of the door, looking at the other side of the door and then placing the mine.
I really think the M1903 Infantry or the Sniper model on 6x scope is incredible on Amiens. The Henry is of course awesome, but it feels a bit easy. The SMLE Carbine takes the cake for me in CQB.
You talk about not rage quitting, and I agree, I stick with it, even if I'm losing. I was playing rush once and I was on a team of like 5 guys against 2. It seemed unfair but I figured maybe more people would join and I could rack up some easy points I needed. But then like 3 people from my team joined the other team and it was only 2 or 3 of us against like 7 now. At one point someone joined in on our team, saw how desperate we were and then JOINED THE OTHER TEAM. I can't stand people that play like that. You lose sometimes, just keep fighting and own up to the loss if it happens. Anyway, on Amiens I tend to use the SMLE Carbine if I go scout or stick with support class. I think MG's work well on this map, especially suppressive or scoped ones.
I definitely feel the pain loosing so bad, our team literally had 156...like how😅 but whatever it's just a video game right, I means it's not life so idc...I'll get mad sure I'm human, but I'll chill quick cause it's just a game and there's always next round...anyway nice vids, I'll be around for more...cheers mate

1st things first... good advice. This map in particular is hard to snipe on UNLESS (dun dun duuuun) you're using the M98 (any varient). There's no point in basing any tactics around your sweet spot on this map so why not go for the weapon that just throws as many bullets down range as fast as possible. There's a tonne of alleyway fighting on this map and having a 1 shot potential and a 2 shot definate with the fastest rpm sniper in the game makes you a force to be reconed with. And as an added bonus for those longer rsnge engagements... STRAIGHT PULL!!! So yeah... follow this materminds advice from this video + use a waaaay more suitable weapon and you'll be laughing at how easy thid map becomes to snipe on.
My most favorite map of BF1 - playing Scout with Martini-Henry (that shot fire sound...), Mars Automatic and HE tripwire with spotting flares. This map has plenty of neat spots where you can hold your ground pretty well while racking up kills. My most favorite spots are on Operation mode, map has good variety of windows and crevices to hide in.
Hey man Nice gameplay. On this map I would use Gewehr M. 95 Marksman, I dont have any special reason for using that sniper rifle but it works for me :) I Also use the flare and tripbomb, sidearm I use Mars automatic :P Kepp up the good work :)
For this map, where it\s a more medium range scenario, try using the M1916 Marksman. Only a 4x scope, which is all you need on this map, but what a great quick bolt action, almost a DMR but more powerful.
Hey AverageSniper, would you give Titanfall 2 a try? Sniping there is really unique and rewarding once you know how to do it. I've been with you since hardline, and I'd love to see something like this from you!
I'll never understand squads that ignore the minimum 1 support 1 medic. Those 2 plus any combination of assault/scout or all 3 remaining slots assault or scouts would be more effective than 4/5 of any class.
Where the bridge objectives are important, IMO just as important of an objective to catch and hold is the one closest to their home base, that way with good assault players on your team you can stop all vehicles getting on to the battlefield...If I play scout on this I just use the SMLE carbine (it's the most versatile gun) sided with the mars, ic grenade & trip wire, plus the spot flare.
When ever I play this map my team always starts by A, my teammates immediately take A,B,C,D and then push for E&F. Enemy flanks and before we know it they take A&B and are pushing for C
I use Gwerhr 98 infantry partially because I love the reload animation partially cause it punishes me for missing as I got the martini when the leveling quickly glitch still existed and and got basically my first 2000 kills with that I got used to being punished by my gun for missing a shot and now I know I bewilder people when I hit them with iron sights from 170 meters away three times in quick succession cause damn I hate snipers that sit in one place
Im actually getting a ps4 and the early enlister version. it comes with behemoth skins, 5 battlepacks, red baron thing, Lawrence of Arabia smle thing, and the hellfighter thing
considering Amiens is a relatively close quarters map, the Martini-Henry is a must, otherwise I think any iron sights rifle is fine. the biggest threat are the opposing players near you which you can easily see, so you want to get your shots off quickly. spotting flare and any tripwire are good, the tripwire let's you know if someone is approaching you. I personally use the HE tripwire so I can finish them off with my pistol.
Whoa console noobs whole match !! You wouldn't get those easy kills with pistols on PC. People not even turning around after getting bullets, and 6x on amiens is a waste, and not efficient.
back capping is extremely important. All the games Ive lost are due to being on teams that cant successfully back cap. The center points on any map are trap points because they change hands far too often and are where everyone naturally gravitates towards. If you can control the outer objectives on a map, the ones that change hands less often, youll win any match. The only time you should focus on obtaining and maintaining center points on a map is when the teams are very evenly matched and its going to be a tight game. But even then you still ABSOLUTELY need some people putting pressure on their back caps to draw their teams front lines back so you can maintain control of the center of the map
I can't use a scoped rifle on Amiens. The engagements are just too close for me. I use the Lawrence of Arabia SMLE to great effect on maps like Amiens and Argonne Forest where most engagements fall in the sweet spot. When I get to level 10 I'll try the Martini Henry as well but for me I just feel it's much easier to be effective as a rifleman than a true scoped sniper on the smaller maps.

Nice video, I was wondering, between the Springfield and the M98 is there any reason at all to use the Springfield over the Mauser? It seems the M98 is superior in nearly every aspect for longer distance sniping from what I can see.
Lost by 800 points today, and it was my first game of the day... so annoying when you and maybe 2-3 guys are the only who are trying to take that tank down that is going 50-0 on the scoreboard -_-
The flare works by marking targets in a certain radius around it. I think you can even see a circle on the minimap which marks the flare's area of effect. Shooting it at the ground or up in the air - it depends on what area you want it to 'illuminate', in other words if it's close to you or further away. That's not the only use for the flare though. I've had it double as area denial in choke points or even fired it directly at enemies for the express purpose of burning the suckers to death :p
Hey, average sniper. I also know a good way to survive amiens using iron sights snipers and camping a little bit in the houses (the bits in the middle) who are overlooking objective d and c with a tripwire Inc and when it goes of you turn around to shoot the guy behind you
some enemy players send me msg to xbox at i was just base camper, but it was their fault since my side were lost all flags and our closest flag was f ( where i keep fighting my light tank ) mostly alone against punch of enemy assault players who try to wreck my tank, so what i was suppose to do other than keep going my base to make some emergency repairs and then head back to meatgrinder. i really hate those players who goes hiding near enemy home base at conquest
I like to play with the gewer m95 without scope because its pretty short range and the reload is really fast with the frommer stop a spotting flair and the fire mine thing 😶 love ur vids btw 😍
For some reason after the update in bf1 I lost my hellfighter pack and have tried to re-download it but it wanted me to pay for it the second time? But I haven't found anything on the internet about it
Hey Average Sniper, big time scout player here. My gun set up for Amiens is actually to roll with the M1903 Experimental if I plan on going super close range. If you have the trigger finger to fire fast enough, you can even outgun assault players. The gun itself is pretty poor for long range combat though as its damage drop off is on the extreme side and will take 8 bullets to kill 1 player. I usually use the Mars Automatico, spotting flair, and INC trip wire bombs with this set up. The set up I use for mid-range sniping in Amiens and wider but not long range friendly maps is the Gewehr 95 Marksman with 2.5x scope. This allows for quick follow up shots and with the quick bolt, allows you to keep firing without needing to unscope. It also has the fastest reload with the gun ejecting all 5 rounds, regardless of how many you used, unlike the other snipers that will manually load 1 shot at a time if its outside the base of 5. I usually run this set up with Spotting flair and sniper shield (great for midrage combat because you can just crouch behind the shield and even the most accurate gunners will hit the shield have the time) or instead of the shield, I got with Trench Binocs.
In terms to the spotting flare. I play on the PS4 and I run with a spotting flare about 90% of the time and I always get flare spotting assists with it. I also have friends that will join my squad and use their flares and have enemies appear on my mini map. It might be a bug in whatever system you are playing on.
