Great video will buddy you can also use a pigmented primer and then a dense edge paint ! Normally about 3 coats with a light sand in between and you get a really smooth round edge 😊

Homie if you adjust the "aperture" or f-stop of the camera (increase to bigger number) more of the frame will be in focus and changing focus near-to-far and far-to-near will be a lot faster. I think. You'll have to adjust other settings to match the brightness of the frame, but you might find it helps... I love my suspenders and radio strap! I ordered chin strap and glove strap DIY kits to give it a try myself! So glad to have found your products and channel.

Me: 1. Permanent marker on the edge or dye 2. Burnish with a burnishing wheel 3. Apply fiebings bees wax 4. Burnish again with wheel. 6. I finish using an italian product similar to acrylic resolene, which is alot better in my opinion. Very hard and protect the edges extremely well.
@SofieldLeather

I use a small wool dauber to dye my edges but the dauber has to be burned off way more than just the fuzzys and I use and reuse them until they are pretty small and pretty firm. If they are too soft they'll cause the dye to go off the edge too far. I like to use black dye for edges with brown dyed sides, therefore the dauber has to be firm and then you can cut a perfect crisp line on the edge with a little practice.
@SofieldLeather

Thanks for the tip. Pun intended! I see alot of guys doing this. Hopefully this comment can help someone! Thanks again for sharing

When you finish a belt do you also use a critical resolution for the final step?

I just picked up a few little things from your Amazon contact. Hope it helps. Love the video's!!! One thing, you were so careful to use clean canvas and burnisher but you used water that had brown stuff in the bottom of the jar. Misstep?
@SofieldLeather

Thanks for your support. Yes your right. It was a misstep / I was winging it. Never had a problem with the dirty water 🤷🏻‍♂️

Great training video! Using your technique, I've gotten the best edges ever for me. One question. I purchased the resolene using your link and it was gummy with solid clumps which just sat on the edge, so I wiped it off. Did I get a bum batch which had been frozen along the way or do I simply need to thin it down with water? If I need to thin, what ratio of water to resolene do you suggest? Thanks for any help you can give me!
@SofieldLeather

Up until the resolene, we do our edges exactly the same, even the same top middle bottom process with the Montana marker. Instead of resolene (I've just never used it), I have a bench polisher with a thick felt wheel that I lean the wax\paraffin Reese cup into, then apply that onto the edges, then final burnish with the cocobolo burnisher in a drill press to "melt" it in. I do this for belts and holsters mainly, and they really never fuzz up again. Great video man.
@SofieldLeather
@SofieldLeather Год назад
Right on. I might have to mess with that wax process again. 🤔. Thanks for watching.

So I have quite a bit of beeswax. Where does one get bees wax mixed with paraffin wax? And if I did it myself would it be 1 to 1. What are the ramifications of using just pure bees wax

Yes. 1 to 1. No ramifications at all. Just preference. Try them both and see. Thanks for watching.

That applicator looks like a Montana Acrlylic Marker. You can buy them empty or filled and they are used for a Arylic Montana Marker art usually used in graffiti and graphic illustration.
