Yes, it's the same process however its a lot more difficult if you don't already have the nail holes in place, particularly if its a hardwood. The factory uses a compressed air nail gun. Trying to do it by hand, particularly if you don't have experience, into wood without existing nail holes is a challenge. The nail tine tends to bend or break so I don't recommend it.
The hole left by the nail can easily be repaired with our leather repair compound, Soft Fill. However, the impression made by the rim of the nailhead in the leather will be permanent as the leather has effectively been embossed.
