I am really happy to see this unique thumbring review in this channel. It is made by Bekir Buyuksindir who is a creative, hardworking arrow maker from Turkey. And he is my big brother. I am really proud of him.

Thank you for this great review. I am very close to Bekir Büyüksındır and I have the very first prototype of this leather thumbring. Although it was just a trial product, I am still using it with great comfort for a long time.

Fantastic!! I have to try one of these. When I first started shooting with thumb rings, I read many times about the use of leather thumb rings, so I made a few myself. Personally, I prefer leather over horn or metal, since I like to feel the actual string. The leather was also a bit more quiet when the string flew off it. Can’t wait to try one of these!

Great review Armin, I think I'm gonna need one soon, my callous is getting hard with practice but after a while it starts to soften and bleed. I tried this leather ring and It's comfortable, it feels as if it's not there just like you said. Thanks again for these reviews Armin ! (y) (y)

Kulak is really a good addition to any thumb ring, it prevents injuries and pain. :)

@@ArminHirmer You may say "ear" in english. "Kulak" is the turkish term for this flaps :D It prevents the "string bite".

This has made me think. I study old Magyar archery (among other things they did) and we have never found a thumb ring in the graves. However, a word for 'sheath' is "hüvely" and the name of the thumb is "hüvelykúj" or "little sheath finger". Could that me a holdover from leather thumbrings? These would not have survived 1100 years of burial.

Hallo Armin, I know it's been a while since this post, but did you find the ring "flexes" or softens with the pressure from the bowstring? Or even over time? (I'm thinking of my boots and how the thickest part made of leather flexes and moves)

Hi Amir. I did not shoot the ring that often as I always try new things. But yes it can and will happen that it softens a little

Hi Armin. I have the Manchu bow from Alibow and it is about 55 lbs (purchased after I watched your video). Would this kind of thumb ring be appropriate for such a weight? I have a custom thumb rings spur ring and I have a hard time with it (most likely my error).

Armin I tried to be tough like you and shoot without my thumb ring for a few months. Alas I cannot. Even though I developed a callous it still is painful. What is your secret?

@@edgarsmith2478 usually better than average in the same price range. As a starter bow you may even consider takedown fiberglass from Nika archery. It is not the fastest but very forgiving and storage is not a problem.
