In this video we discuss the different tool options for sanding the edges on your leather projects. Many of these tools can be purchased at your local hardware store.
There are many ways to get the job of sanding edges done in the leather shop. These are some of the hand tools that I use on a daily basis.

I have added a small belt sander to get the edges evened out, and a Dremel tool for inside curves and belt slots. Great videos, keep them coming.

It took me all day to find the correct name for this little sanding set... Gator Finish 1st Micro AutoZip Multi- Surface Sanding Tool Kit (9800)... It's a semi firm mini block, it comes with 400, 1000 and 1500 grit - hook and loop papers... I really enjoy working with it..

Belt sander belts are essentially the same thing as finisher paper and can be purchased at Lowes, Home Depot, local lumber stores, Amazon, etc. They are inexpensive and also come in a variety of grits.

You may think I am crazy but I mount a belt sander in a vise for my first sanding & then go to hand sanding to finish it before I slick it. Works pretty good for a sale barn sander for $7.50. Been using it for years. This old dog picks up some good hints here that helps me along so keep up the great videos.

I use canzas on that black sanding block to buff larger areas. Another great video, Don. Thanks. I will check into that finisher paper.

I was making a gun sling and I was going to leave the letters that I had carved on it natural I was wondering do you think it would be best to put a resist on them then add a little olive oil before I dye it
