I post on instagram, but I make art really slow so I can never get popular on it. I used to care but I don’t anymore, I just like to be able to share my art and if only my friends see it than it’s all the same to me. I’m going to make the art anyways, so all I have to do is post it. I just found your channel and youre incredibly underrated!
Instagram once used to be so fun to post artworks.. but nowadays it's not so fun because of all of this pressure.. I have to say it did discourage me from making progress since I felt like it was not worth it anymore..
Yeah I totally get you, a lot of people say that Instagram was in its peak during the early to mid 2010s, unfortunately for me I joined at the end of the 2010s and the start of Instagrams downfall 😭 I hope you’ve found a platform that works for you and doesn't discourage you 🙏🏽❤️
I hope the AI art stuff goes away someday, because this is so upsetting. I used to post my art on instagram, but I don't anymore. And it's sad, because I don't have twitter and so many of my favorite voice actors have instagram so I draw fan art of their character and show them
I won't leave instagram since I worked hard on my art posts and reels on there BUUUUT I totally get the toxic relationship and why you would want to move. I am trying to make more for youtube in the future because I fee like Im more able to build towards something here. Anyway like your art in here a lot!!

Completely understandable how you feel that way. Instagram is very slow on my end for my artist page. Tried using hashtags, posting on stories, even recording live. No dice. Just a few engagements. And with the whole A.I. thing just adds more salt to the wound. I still be around Instagram, but I'm in no rush posting, or doing reels. None of those stuff. What's important is that the work is out there for all (who cares) to see.

Yes I just deleted my instagram a few days ago for the same reasons. The Ai thing sucks! I moved to Deviant art instead, its not the best still but at least it doesn't use your art for ai and its easier for people to see you.
Unfortunately Deviantart is not safe anymore, those AI guys took control over it, it's best to go to Cara, that is a site/app that doesn't allow AI and there's no algorithm so everything you post people will see, not to mention that people there are really nice, you can grow faster on Cara than on Deviantart.
I completely understand this. I left TikTok years ago because of the negative posts I was always seeing, and I definitely understand the tech stuff pushing other artists over the edge. I’d leave insta too if my community weren’t there, most of my customers come from insta! Always do what’s best for you and your creativity💖💖💖💖
Also, the whole reels thing is annoying because even if you post reels every day you get like 200 views but 10 likes and 0 comments.. so I don't know what artists should do because even hashtags are not working anymore... 🙁
I've been slowly drifting from instagram since the beginning of this year, especially with the ai stuff now. I draw rather slow so posting like once a month was never going to work for me. I've switched to tumblr, and it's much more fun for me and less stressful. I've also noticed my posts from months ago still get interactions, while on insta my posts die after like 48 hours. I hope youtube works out better for you!
Thanks for sharing! I'm not an artist, but I work from home, and I really enjoy watching videos by artists. While RU-vid has its fair share of problems, too, I've discovered way more artists by way of this platform than by Instagram. Something I've noticed and would like to believe is that people want to support other people. For example, there have been many instances where an artist will start a shop and people buy from them, leaving comments explaining they came from RU-vid. Video making isn't for everyone, but for me personally, I really like to hear the person behind the video/channel speak. I think lots of people are tired of the algorithm, too, and just want to hear others voicing their thoughts.

Just found your channel! I agree the instagram AI thing is awful, I really wish there was a way to opt out. There is an app/website called deviantart though, that is made for art and its pretty cool! I don't personally use it much, but some of my friends have gotten their work blown up like crazy I personally haven't had such luck, but I also haven't been posting there much recently!
First off welcome to my channel! 😁🫶🏽 Secondly yes, I’ve heard about Deviantart but I don’t like how AI art is very much prevalent there. I instead use a platform called Cara which was designed by an artist and it protects artists against AI ✨ I would recommend checking it out ❤️
I’m so happy for you!! 💗💗I’m glad that you finally found a way to post art without the extra stress and anxiety instagram brought you 😵💫 And yes I TOTALLY get what you mean by feeling almost obsessed with likes and followers. I used to think that the more likes you get means the better your art must be. Every time I got low likes I felt so discouraged and disappointed with my art because I used to think that meant that my drawing looked awful when I posted. I eventually had to retrain myself to love my art again without judging it so harshly. Instagram is nice in some ways and I LOVE that i met so many nice people on it but over the years, it’s become…Odd. The algorithm is awful and the tik tok-ification is definitely showing. The reels are quite annoying and I find that the comments under them are either toxic or discouraging. Especially when a young or newbie artist posts! I felt so bad for them whenever someone made fun of their art. :( Soon, I decided extra effort just to stay relevant was too stressful and I’m currently in one of my LONGEST hiatuses to figure myself out. I want to come back, but frankly I don’t know how😅
