Hi Lynette, New subscriber and first time commenting. Wanted to give you an advice concerning people pleasing and overplanning. When asked about hanging out, let your first answer be no. If you see after that you have the time and energy to do it you can still contact the person. This way you won't cancel plans and won't feel anxious. You have to give yourself time to process invitations and see if it works for you. Better to change a no to a yes than the opposite. It's a good exercise to be better at putting boundaries. Your real friends will understand, respect and appreciate this. Also research 'decision fatigue'. Hope it helps 💜
This is sound advice!! I no longer feel overwhelmed with plans because I no longer say yes just to say yes especially if I don’t have the energy for it. People are more understanding than i realized. That’s what I learned from being ok with saying no

The AI ad thing is terrifying omg. I have been starting to see this ad where they’re tryna get people to apply for some scammy gov’t subsidy that’s $6500. But they use influencers faces with an AI voice over. The times we are in is wild.

same ab feeling like a bad friend lmaooo i dont like factime or texting or calling that much and muchhhhh prefer talking in person and acc being in their presence. so that means its so hard to maintain long distance friendships and when there is time to meet, i feel like crap bcus somehow i time the meetups wrong and its this back and forth on if i can meet or not. always end up feeling like the burdensome friend bcus im too flip floppy 😭

im from LA and i hateeee DTLA but I love LA as a whole - lots of creatives, wellness + spiritual people. maybe you can give LA another shot when you feel you’re ready to be social, there’s a lot of chill niche events and sweet people. It’s a hard place to live during a hermit mode period

THE AI IS TOO FREAKY defo not legal im sure they can take it down for you. So real over not saying no and overbooking yourself, i remember a few weekends ago when i had a cold i committed to seeing three different friends in one day, left the house at 8:30am didnt get back till 11:30pm because my last friend/cousin i was at a concert of hers that went so late!! on top of that dealing w toxic friend issue but ive let it go now. out of my control. anyway i got really sick after doing all that so moral of the story learn to say no and take care of yourself first, any friend will understand ❤ best of luck in this new part of your journey, love from ireland
