I remember living in a backpack for 9 months. It made me realise how little I actually needed. Sad that I forgot it too quickly. I do consider myself a minimalist, but I'm still convinced more often than I'd like to that if I buy this thing I'm going to feel so much better.. I am going through something similar in my life right now. Impulsively, I packed up one small suitcase and started traveling around the country. Eventually, I stopped moving around and rented a one room apartment just for me- a very tiny one with old furniture. And here I realised that this small suitcase was just so enough for me. You were the first person I saw having videos on minimalism and you inspired me to challenge myself and see how much I actually need. I feel so free now, I managed to turn my back on things I though I could never do without. I am happy to see you, your partner and your two beautiful dogs are having great time here in Europe. Enjoy every single moment. Be blessed by the Universe. :)

Since i started to watched your videos, i am more brave to do the things i really wanted. I moved out to a new place, practice the minimalism on my stuff and be truly happy on adventures. I remember when I went to Portugal with my friend 8 years ago, our luggage got lost and did not make it there with us. We arrived for our ten-day trip with absolutely nothing but the clothes on our back. We went to sleep in what we had spent nearly 24 hours travelling in, and the next day purchased a change of clothes from a little shop near our hotel. We were young and didn't have much money to spend, and those clothes weren't fashionable or trendy one bit. Yet in every picture from that trip I look so genuinely happy, because I was. I really want to reconnect with my younger self, who was content just to be in a beautiful place with my friend, doing something new, completely unconcerned with how I looked. I haven't felt that carefree in years.

Ohhh, those first moments in a new and different place. It’s so exciting and amazing. It’s a beautiful town, so beautifully calm. I live in Spain and in my hometown, we live the way you told (open doors, people stops in their way to greet you and sometines we can have a coffee together. We have no simming-pools, because in summer we spend the afternoon by the river, swimming and sharing a snack…) You can forget to shopping and consumerism. I wish you all the best in your journey. First time overseas was a trip to Portugal for 6 weeks with 3 little kids. I only took 3 changes of clothes and didn't miss my wardrobe. I LOVED the slow pace of life, the ocean, living in one place for a while (not running around like a tourist). We have often dreamt of moving to Portugal.
