the reason you have to pay that separately is due to the level of corruption. if they allow it to simply be added to the ticket, there is no guarantee they will ever see that money. or, the people who collected it will keep a big chunk as some kind of service fee for collecting it, and they are not going to allow that. so they collect their money separately so it can go directly in their pocket and not someone else's.
Tacloban Airport seems to have had an upgrade. I was last there in 2015 during a typhoon. The entire place was flooded, toilets blown up, limited seating and a tiny check-in counter.
Just for the viewers info, Air Asia is the cheap airline in Asia. They weigh all your carry on bags…including purses be sure you are under the limits. If you backpack be prepared to pay$$
Traveling in this age is such a pain in the a**, that I’ve stopped traveling altogether. You haven’t experienced true flying in the 60’s through 90’s. You pull up to the Skycaps and they unload your baggage, confirm your flight and issue your boarding pass and Gate number. You then park your car or use the valet service and head to your gate. Your family can see you off at the gate or greet you when you return. Today, traveling is BS to the Nth degree. I don’t know how everyone still deals with it. Just my personal opinion.

The last time I flew, I was ready to grab my bags and leave the airport. I am a pretty patient person, but the hoops they have you jumping through was ridiculous. I totally understand why people go ballistic on flights. There’s only so much nonsense a person can take. I’d rather walk away than go through what you’re going through. To each his own, as they say.
I feel the same as you do. Lost my appetite to travel esp after the rona with ever changing different requirements for different destinations on top of all other hassles....... I think it's time to invest in a private Gulfstream
That is weird, I didn't have to pay a fee to leave from Manila when I was returning back to the US or the time I was going to Thailand. Only time I had to pay a fee was when I left from Clark to Thailand.
This is my second time with a Filipina: I was stationed in Phillipine in the 80s I have 3 kids with my domestic partner; they are all grown; my oldest is 41 years old and and my twins daughters are in their 20s unfortunately they can’t even speak Tagalog
I hated wearing that damn mask. When I was there in May I carried extra cash on me in case I had to pay a fine cause I walked around d without it on most of the time. Fuck that mask 😆 🤣 😂
Make your life easier Pay the exit fee in tacloban about 2 weeks before you fly.. When you get to airport in Manila they just look at your receipt and passport and you're off. Very easy process
@@TimKyoutube yes,, you do it the immigration office there in tacloban the same place you pay your yearly fee. We have been paying it there for years. 2 weeks before we fly. We live on biliran island we just go there to eat breakfast do a little shopping then stop by the immigration office after lunch and pay the exit fee. No hassles at the airport ever in Manila.
Man how I wish I could sleep like that on a plane. I only get to do that when the doctor give me the "good stuff", whatever that is, it has the same effect as a half bottle of Whiskey, minus the hangover....
Be very careful Shane,when you go there, many scams go on there, an you won't even see them coming. I went there 4 years ago, was crazy there, lol and Tim was right, you will pay at the airport when you go home,just a heads up.

You don't need to have the jab to enter the Philippines. They need the negative test result. Which is required in many other port entries around the world. Including Mexico.

Depends on your passport. Most western countries are allowed up to 30-60 days visa free. If you overstay, it costs about 10 USD if you go over one month the allowed stay. You can easily circumvent this by doing a "visa-run" by going to a different country (it's cheap if you travel to somewhere like Malaysia or Indonesia) and then coming back thus resetting your visa another 30-60 days. I stayed for 33days and had to pay for those extra 3days. 60 bucks and got an extension for 30 days. That being said had my travel agent returned my call so I could change my flight plan I'd had stayed those extra days. The guard at immigration told me when I was getting my passport stamped that I had to go to the immigration office to get an extension or leave 3 days early
You dont need to leave The country if you want to extend it visa. You Can stay up to 2-3 years As long As you exit after. All you have to do is once you visa expires Go back to Immigration and just renew

Good Pink Pork comes from imported pigs. Canadian pigs is reported best. Its breed and not choice of feed in Philippines. To import, 1000 pigs and rental of 747 may be necessary. At least reports from insiders @GenSan. But, skin is thin and not delicious for lechon. Thus, locals prefer local pigs. Someday, may import to insert in food products we manufacture. Tim, you mention you paid a taxi to get from terminal to terminal do you know there is a FREE bus service at the airport. I dont know if they run 24 hours but i used twice in the morning and later in the afternoon.
I usually enjoy your videos and for the most part I did this one as well. The one part I didn’t enjoy occurred between 8:00 and 9:00. Instead of making fun of your wife and correcting her pronunciation on camera, which I found disrespectful, you should do it off camera. Also, I would think that after 3 years you should be able to speak some Filipino words and phrases. May I suggest a couple of Tagalog phrases “asawa ko” and “mahal ko”. Your wife will like these phrases and you will have something to say on camera. I don’t often leave a negative comment but I feel this warranted one. Cheese

Wait, I made a return flight from Bangkok to Manila and then onto Tacloban in August using Philippines Airlines. On the return, I was not aware of and nor did I pay the exit tax! How is that possible? Why were you charged but I wasn’t?

Firstly it is obvious Chrissy hasn’t travel. No on who travel wear a fancy dress nor high heels. Instead comfy clothes. My bad but I have every time leaving Philippines surprised about the fee they are collecting. Even more coz I haven’t been able to pay it with my credit card.
