Putting lebron over MJ if he wins another 5 chips doesn't make sense. If Mj played just this one year, didn't win a chip and was never heard from again, he would still be the best player I've ever seen. Playing longer doesn't make you better at something, it just means you played longer. You nailed it with the jump shot. MJ is arguably the greatest midrange shooter of all time. If lebron had a jumper he'd average 40...like MJ would in this era. And nobody would even think to compare the 2.

If current Lebron played in this era, the illegal defense rule would force him to chase down players on defense, instead of just waiting around saving energy. If current Lebron uses up energy on defense he cant do the driving layup he relies on [currently] Eras have advantages/disadvantages. The stamina usage of forced defense would be no good for [current] Lebron and he'd likely of retired years ago

Hell no! Plumbers are tough. If MJ played today he'd be going up against a bunch of Versace skirts aka Avon Ladies. I'm in my mid-50s and still ball a little at local rec centers when my herniated discs ain't flared up and I can literally see the coochie juice ooze out of these Monistat cats facial pores.

I can understand Quez's logic. He may watch a Bad Boy Pistons highlight and to him, he may believe physical defense or hard fouls is a cheap way to try to stop an offensive player that is too fast. On the other hand, having the capability to score under these conditions is not always easy. As so many things can affect a player's stamina or focus when trying to score

Tracy McGrady GOAT szn is like a 6'9 version of this. Must watch tbh. There's another guy named Len Bias u gotta watch more of. If he didnt OD right after getting drafted he was the 2nd pick in the draft and somehow Celtics got that 2nd pick right after winning the chip in '86. He was like TMac but more athletic and his mid range was more beautiful in college than Jordan's. Len Marvellous Bias great video. Bird would have gotten 6 rings before 1990 if Len lived, they lost by 1 pt to LA in '87 and everyone was injured. U bring in a taller Jordan everyone stays healthier and they easily win especially if they still find a way to get Reggie Lewis in '87

I’m a “90s kid” but that also meant I wasn’t even able to appreciate how good the 90s were till later. But I often think about how it’s possible that the late 80s early 90s gave us the greatest generation of athletes. And the fact that at the turn of the new millennium, after it was all said and done and when ESPN was still the most respected sports news source in the game, Michael Jordan ended up as the #1 athlete of the century. That’s over, Babe Ruth, Joe Montana, Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, Bo Jackson, Ken Griffey Jr., Wayne Gretzky, Mike Tyson….these guys were all bigger than life kind of athletes and Jordan conquered them all, conquered all sports. That’s why us “old heads” find this GOAT debate fairly laughable. It’s no offense to Lebron. Look at the list of athletes who came up short when their careers were compared against Michael Jeffery Jordan’s…

BTW, I love that you're a LeBron fan. One can be a fan of a great player and also admire and study someone who was better. I'm a Washington Redskins...I mean...Commanders 🙄fan. Doug Williams is my favorite player of all time. (If you ever want to react to him, I can send you some links). But I couldn't help but be in awe of Tom Brady and become a fan because I never thought the QB position could be played at a championship level for so long. Brady is the GOAT. Williams is my personal favorite. Both things can be true. 🙂

Well, your assessment of Jordan vs Bird is pretty accurate. Jordan was by FAR the better one on one player. Because of Jordan's physical gifts, he could consistently carry a team offensively for years, which he did very effectively with the Bulls. Bird's playing style lended itself to him playing better with other talented players.

*Jordan's peak is 1987-1991. Arguments for all 4 of those years are considered MJ's peak. But 1986 is Jordan's scoring peak.* *Summary* 1987-1988: Jordan's (stats) peak. This was Jordan's best defensive year and best scoring year. This is the individual season often called best player ever. 1988-1989: also argued as Jordan's best season. 32/8/8. But Jordan dominated defensively in addition to these playmaking offensive stats. 1989-1990: arguably Jordan's NBA playoffs peak. If not for the Detroit Pistons series, this,would undoubtably go down as the best NBA playoffs series in history. 1990-1991: Michael Jordan's efficiency peak. Here Jordan was in between being the fast air Jordan, and the mid-range Jordan. 1993: this is Michael Jordan's "skills" and "midrange" peak. For people that don't care about pure athleticism or pure stats, but a player's individual skillset. NBA 2K believes 1996 is the "skills" peak. But this is distracting from player peak. 1987-1991.

Last comment I swear, LOL. Here's my Top 5 list. It assumes each player has to play on a sub-par team for 10 years. In their peak, I believe these players could turn a sub-par team into at least a 2 time champ in the 10 years. 1. Jordan 2. Bird 3. Kobe (He was Jordan minus 6 inches of vertical and normal sized hands). 4. Lebron 5. Magic

Longevity is one element. Everything LeBron has over Jordan is based on that one element. In 13 seasons with Chicago Jordan achieved far more than LeBron and the eye test tells us that he was a better skilled and had better fundamentals than LeBron. There is literally nothing LeBron can do from now other than become a better basketball player than he ever has been which is not going to happen.
@katrinachavez3533
@katrinachavez3533 9 месяцев назад
Very true. And those of us that have seen both of them while in their primes in person, find it comical that they're compared. I agree 100% with Hakeem when he said "It's an unfair comparison. Jordan was far more superior, and in a tougher league." Them 13 years in Chicago were magical. From the time he first stepped on the court as a rookie that had Bird telling a Boston Globe reporter "that guy is going to be the greatest ever - you just watch" all the way to the time when he beat Utah with that beautiful jumper. His pre-peak and peak is unmatched. Bron can only dream (literally) of MJ.

not gonna complain about calling some of them plumbers...there are just as many role players and journeymen today as there was back then, BUT plumber or not, they had hands on him and a hand in his face (and the avg height in the mid-late 80s was actually taller than it is now...but now they are heavier)...so plumber or not, they still had a hand in his face physically closer than they allow now and the majority had a height advantage on MJ and he still scored/dunked/lay...

Jordan at at 40 lebron at 38 is closer then you think. Imagine if Jordan had load management and only played on the days he felt good Jordan was averaging 25 PPG with the wizards at 40 years old before he injured his knee, he decided to play hurt the rest of the season and finish the season getting his Knee drained before every game. He played like 81 games that year. Also this is early 2000s where teams only averaged about 96 points per game, now teams average over 115 points. Imagine if he only played 60 something games, had load management and played in a era that scored 115 points per game nightly. Think about how much better his per game stats would look.

@@quezthepluglongevity and accolades its rlly no question but just watching their games yes Bron has had some amazing games too but Bird just makes it look so easy and doesnt have to do too much. He fits better into team systems where Lebron becomes the system and becomes the point guard everything gets more predictable with a drive and kick pnr plays all game. Where Bird cant blow past defenders in the pnr the same way he still can get past them and is just as good of a playmaker. Bird also cause of his shooting can score off plays they dont even run for Bron like the drop screens and offball movement Jordan does. Bron cant do that he doesnt shoot like them. Bird also doesnt need as many shooters around him his pg can be a Westbrook ball dominant pg who just has to play good D. His pf doesnt have to be a 6'8 shooting Kevin Love it can be a 6'10 post monster Kevin Mchale. Bird's legendary shooting makes it so his Celtics are probly the most dominant front court ever and can still play modern small ball and compete with modern Warriors. And they had so much size and skill for those Celtics they had Bird playing the 2 in some lineups. A lineup of 6'4 or 6'5 DJ or Ainge, 6'10 Bird, 6'10 Mchale, 7ft Walton and 7ft Parish all on the court at the same time, and their collective mid range game ability allowed for spacing even with that incredibly huge lineup.

On point! But his infinitely ignorant fans will say that he's making the right play. When us real heads know it's because he lacks "go-to" moves to put ball in bucket. Game vs Heat was perfect example. He did his usual one-dimensional move - drive right. And since when he goes downhill he's like an 18-wheeler without brakes, he can't stop on a dime or change direction ala Jordan, his only option was to pass. And he passes to Reddish, who hasn't been able to duke since he left Durham.

Lebron’s jumper is his biggest issue in my opinion. Still one of the greatest, but you’re right. If he had a reliable jump shot, he’d have been even greater. As for Larry Bird, it sucks his career got shortened by his back injury. Still wouldn’t have him number one, due to defense. He wasn’t a liability by any means, but Jordan was a much better defender. Still think Kobe doesn’t get enough respect for what he did in his time either. Thunder is my team btw. Chet and Sha is duo to look out for in the future. Just tell Dramond to stay out of their DMs 😂

2k. Not sure exactly what video it was, but when you finally gave it up and admitted Jordan was the GOAT. Also, one reason a lot of this footage looks ass terrible is due to compression from a bad source. I really wish the NBA would upscale all the old footage they have of these games and release it somehow. You watched the Ultimate Bulls Mixtape they put out and it was mostly clean and crisp unlike a lot of these highlight videos that further degrade the source video through compression.

The Bron that was manhandled by a 6ft 175 lb. old ass Chris Paul in the paint? The Bron that went down like he was shot by a rogue cop's Glock when a little grizzly (Dillon Brooks) grazed him with a forearm to the chest while going for a rebound? The Bron that went flying backwards like a prime Tyson opponent when his chin was lightly caressed by Tristan Thompson's forearm? The Bron that was inverted by a fragile and smaller Euro baller Bojan Bogdanovic? The Bron that flew to the concession stands by a finesse center with the physique of Homer Simpson (Jokic)? Man, please give Sheed Wallace that potent Cali ganja back. Bron's mental is Vagisil vaginal. He may be built like Deebo but he has the psyche of Mrs. Parker in Daisy Dukes.

@@jermainezinnerman7450 There are so many highlights of Lebron finishing through contact because no one can stop him, not even your favorite player. Most players in today's NBA take advantage of flopping. Why? Because a lot of fouls go uncalled, and for players like Lebron who primarily scores by driving to the basket (where most contact is going to occur), it makes sense that he wants to be rewarded for his efforts of getting to the rim. Your criticism of Lebron won't change the fact that he's STILL one of the biggest faces in basketball, 20 years into his career lol. At 39 years old, he's still very clearly the best player on his team.... STILL 😅 Jordan is lucky he never came across a Lebron in his day 😅 he would have been bullied.

If Jordan spent over a million dollars a year on his body with all the medical advancements available to him as players have now with or without game management he would have by far surpassed anything LeBron could ever achieve in the same amount of playing years That's why LeBron can never pass MJ If you took 13 of Lebrons best years and compare it to MJ you would never compare them again no matter what happens from here simply because if the goat had the same time to play there would never even exist this discussion period

2k - watched the entire vid. Never got tired of these amazing highlights. Lebron’s highlights have absolutely nothing on these - no cap These “plumbers” played better defense than the “much more talented players”(Aka divas/snowflakes) in today’s soft league 😂🤦🏾‍♂️

There’s so many reasons why to put Jordan above Lebron besides his mid range.

My top 10 : 10. Curry (I put Curry in my top 10 after his ring in 2021 and his recent performances have only shown to me that he deserves to be here) 9. Hakeem (originally had Wilt over him, but I did a deep dive and I had to upgrade Hakeem whilst downgrading Wilt because of the things I value in players and that's playoff performance) 8. Tim Duncan (consistent on both ends of the floor for 15 seasons and came in hot) 7. Bird (the most clutch player of all time, but lacks the defense and longevity to be "the guy" IMO) 6. Magic (my list is a combo of awards, skills and longevity, Magic beats Bird in 2 of these) 5. Kobe (very underrated in terms of his placement, if you don't have him at least top 10, I don't want to talk) 4. Bill Russell (11 rings in 13 tries is crazy even back when they had less teams and playoff rounds) 3. Kareem (the former longevity GOAT) 2. Lebron (I put him over Kareem this season) 1. MJ (the true GOAT)

LJ in MJ era wud be nun but average cause of the mind set, MJ mind set and rules MJ wud average 50 in today's game easy probably 55

If larry Bird is a better shooter than JORDAN , a better passer than JORDAN , a better rebounder than JORDAN , a better three point shooter than JORDAN , a better free throw shooter than JORDAN , and JORDAN couldn’t beat BIRD , what’s that make BIRD ?
@heroesismid8694
@heroesismid8694 9 месяцев назад
Bird is a better shooter than Jordan or Lebron. But Jordan and Lebron are more efficient than Bird. Same story with Luka Doncic
@heroesismid8694
@heroesismid8694 9 месяцев назад
Jordan's "team" did not beat Bird's team 1984-1987. Be because the average Bulls starter scored under 10 points. 1988-1992, Bulls regularly began beating the Celtics. And in 1991 and 1992, Larry's Celtics could not even win more than 42 games. Bulls were clearly better than Celtics at that time. If your excuse was that Bird and his Celtics were worse at the end of the 1980s, well Jordan and his Bulls were also a different team in the 1990s
@heroesismid8694
@heroesismid8694 9 месяцев назад
Bird and Lebron have better peaks than Bird. *Luka Doncic*'s last 3 seasons are vastly superior to Bird's peak. If you want me to be brutally honest, statistics say Kevin Durant is better all around than Larry Bird. And 1986 Celtics would never beat 2017 Golden State
@Digital-um6nu
@Digital-um6nu 9 месяцев назад
Actually Isiah Thomas is beat Bird in 1991, then Jordan's Bulls swept that same team. Bird really is an inferior KD

lmao! The stats argument? You realize that Bird isn't top 10 if you rely on stats? Prime Lebron is both a better 3 point shooter, better passer, better rebounder, and better defender than Larry. That applies to Kevin Durant, Luka Doncic, Jokic, and almost every modern player. Larry Bird attempts "1" 3 pointer per game and averages 37%. Lebron, KD, James Harden attempt 5-6 threes per game and averaged more than Bird. Larry Bird isn't winning stats debates. He still averages 49% field goals for his career. Bird isnt that efficient even in prime.

Why you calling everyone that gets destroyed by Michael Jordan plummers? Labron is way better than his generation of players you call them plummers I bet not because you know them, and the flipside side they were alot of players that played with Michael Jordan that was really good but they didn't stand out because of Jordan, I bet you in a couple of years kids are watching your labron generation they also gonna say who's that playing with labron is he a plummer, but in reality they are good players but the reason why the next generation is gonna think that because labron is destroying them and those players won't stand out because of labron james.

@@queztheplug Keep up the great work! I'm a 46 year old man who grew up watching the NBA in the late 80s and 90s and it's enjoyable watching youngsters who can appreciate and study their basketball history. MJ is the best of all time hands down. Bird is my favorite player of all time, but MJ was literally the closest thing to basketball perfection we've ever seen. The man had zero weaknesses.
