Jordan’s scoring was on such a high level that people act like he didn’t know how to do anything else. He was actually a great all around player
@natedablack7857
@natedablack7857 3 года назад
Exactly! In 1988 he won the: * Scoring Title * Steals Title * Dunk Title * Reg Season and All-Star MVP(s) * DPOY All in the SAME season! NOTE: he also racked up 200+ steals and 100+ blocks (which he repeated in '89) that year as well. Hell, the BEST PLAYER in this era would need on average, 2-3 seasons to accomplish these things! He did it in one season! You don't do things like this and "only be a scorer". Hell, the ONLY REASON why some of his avg's declined (w/ assists being one of them), was because Phil came in and implemented the Triangle (which doesn't allow for lofty assists avgs), and reassigned him to an off the ball duty within the offense. But in the season right before Phil took over: he avg'd 8apg! And during his title seasons (when playing off the ball), he STILL avg'd 6apg! So, when these LBJ fanboys try to claim that he was "just a scorer", it's nothing more than willful ignorance on their part. This is their childish way of trying to minimize him as a player, whenever LBJ is compared to him.

Spot on, I’ve been saying this shit for years. Lebron holds on to the ball to damn long, trying to figure something out, when he should just attack, attack, get doubled, and triple then pass. It’s the reason why he’s always he’s at the brink every season, until he realizes he’s is supposed to be the Killer, then facilitate. Pass first players are Pointgards and Lebron James is not a true point, even though he thinks he is. He is a 3 to 4 and is 265 lbs. Work on your jumper and fundamental skills, and you can be great!!. Ask Michael Jordan.. Inspire teammates with your basketball ball skills rather than them watching you dribble the ball at the top off the key, while they wait to get a corner pass for three. None of those players will never be in rhythm unless they are straight snippers, ala Ray Allen, Mike Miller, and ton off other shooters that done save Lebrons ass. Jordan saved his own ass, and he made his teamates better, even when some didn’t deserve it, ala Scottie Pippen lol. He wouldn’t be shit without out Jordan and neither would them other niggas, and videos like this prove that fact🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

In the 88-89 season. He had 10 triple doubles in 11 games, 7 triple doubles in a row when he played Point Guard when John Paxson was injured. Averaged 33.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 11.4 assists per game during that streak. The the one triple double he missed at those 11 games was when he scored 40, had 7 rebounds and 11 assists against the Bad Boys Pistons. He was 3 rebounds away from 11 straight triple doubles. And he shot 53% that season.

Jordan was pretty much doing everything Lebron gets credit for over those 24 games in 1989. Jordan has no weaknesses. The kids get offended when I say Lebron is top 5-10. Modern media has all of Lebron's highlights, but for the basketball greats of 70s,80s and 90s....it is an incomplete record. @dadsa If MJ, Magic, Stockton etc. had access to the video we have now, and the analytics... yikes. I am not a romantic the truth is these young players have more skill and are generally more athletic, BUT and this is a big BUT, a lot of them are idiots when it comes to the team game. This is why players improve so rapidly after a stint at Golden State or San Antonio....(Wiggins and DeRozan are prime examples)

@dadsa lack of awareness blows my mind, these players have 10-15 years in the sport by the time they enter the league and another 3-5 by the time most are allstars. The awareness of certain situations should be automatic, it's not football, the playing area is TINY, there are only so many options. My other pet peeve is free throws, not asking for 90% but you are in the NBA, sub 75% is not acceptable year in and year out. What do you do in the summer?

That was the thing with Jordan, all his "weaknesses'" were only there when looking at overall stats. People overlook Jordan’s overall skills bc he scored so easily. Jordan was an assassin with the ball. He could do it all, score, pass, rebound D up. His court awareness and vision was understated because he made everything look so effortless. People forget he went 69 18 and 7 one game. People also forget that he is the only player to win scoring title and DPOY in the same season - think about that one for a minute! And that was when you could “ touch” a player up coming thru the lane and there was no flopping on D and no flagrant 2-3 with a hard foul. The game has changed and if Jordan was playing in this era, if Steph (and I am a huge Steph fan) avg’d almost 30 this year to win the scoring title Jordan, he would average 50 easy!!!

Played PG in 89, 41 games, almost averaged a triple double, 32.2 points, 9.4 assists and 8.3 rebounds. That included 10/11 triple doubles in one sequence and 7 consecutive, which has only been beaten once since then by Russell Westbrook. And he wasn't averaging 21 points like Westbrook either - he averaged 30.4 points during that streak.

He scored several triple-doubles when he was told by his coach to do the PG role. It was just that he had the 'score first' mentality that people easily overlooked his other capabilities. He was a strong all-around player when he needed to be. He was *the* cheat code of NBA 2K games back in the 80's and 90's.

@@chasemoney6539 bro I'm surely talking about the game series in the sense wherein you have the option to create an all-99 rated player and that is like a cheat code in itself. If you want to go and create a player and model it from a real one, I would choose MJ as my base.

Exactly. The majority of Leflop fans have never seen Jordan play. They only seen James. Us old heads (I’m 44) saw MJ do this every game. And we were Amazed every game. We have also seen James and are amazed sometimes. And put them both on the biggest stage (finals) and we NEVER saw MJ choke. But we have seen the other guy choke, flop, cry, quit more than once.

Jordan is one of a kind Jack of All Trades in basketball that excels with almost everything you put him to. The only moment anyone would beat his records is if NBA's rules of today goes back to 80s~90s.

Watch a few videos of guys from MJ’s days and listen to what they had to say about playing against him. He once walked into the visitors locker room before a game and asked Dominic Wilkens “who’s guarding me tonight”? When he heard he laughed and said “ha, 50”! I think he went on to score 54 that night. And good on you for having an open mind and wanting to learn more about the past. Seriously, anyone old enough that watched Michael in real time thinks any debate about who the GOAT is ridiculous. There ain’t no comparison.

they said when he was at NC he clocked a 4.3 40. He was very lean and explosive coming out of college with quicker feet than in the 90s. Could you imagine him playing WR at 6.6 with those kawhi paws and crazy hops. His footwork would have allowed him to run routes as good as Randy Moss but he was catching bullet passes with the basketball and easily palming the ball and controlling it easy. Jordan was different

Bro when they asked Jordan to play point guard, he went on the greatest stretch of triple doubles in NBA history at a high level. And I had the pleasure of watching these games live. These highlights don't even show every pass he made, which is scary. He was asked to score, but when he was asked to facilitate, it got real spooky my G lol.

YOUNG BRO!!! Channel's growing! Happy for ya. Glad you took a look at his passing vids. FYI, those Puppeteer (pts 1&2) by Clutch23 are MUCH better made lol. Mike was SICK!! When we say no weaknesses we literally mean the man had NO weaknesses. You have to also realize that guys like Lebron, Harden, Dame Dollar, and others have sicks stats in today's era but they control the ball 85-95% of the time. That's why we've seen a stat explosion over the last 5 or so years. In the past era's teams ran systems and weren't dependent on one player. Well actually, Mike did play that way his first couple of seasons out of necessity , the guy literally had C*ke heads on his team when he got drafted. Hopefully you keep digging down the rabbit hole. I see you have BIRD coming up! Don't forget to check out Hakeem Olajuwon (2nd best player ever after Mike IMHO), Magic Johnson and Tim Duncan (boring but sooo fundamentally sound).
