I can see the vision a tiny bit: Rui has some decent scoring touch, not on KAT’s level obviously, but defensively Rui fits in way better than KAT ever could. The main question is how would they replace KATs offense seeing as they already struggle a bit in that regard WITH KAT. The Lakers front office sort of fumbled this whole Lebron era. It’s hard to argue this current Lakers team would be better than the accumulation of what they gave up to get AD. Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle, Lonzo Ball (even though he got injured), Josh Hart, Jordan Clarkson, Zubac. If they still had those guys I think the Lakers would be better off.
