Well not exactly, they did go to the eastern conference finals, maybe would have gone to the finals if Trae didn't get injured, trade dj for either a star or key roleplayers with Trae, JJ and Sarr, could legit be a finals team, maybe not win, but make fans happy, kinda like the Knicks, they're not gonna win the finals anytime soon, but they're a good team, and there fans love it
Reason Bronny is listed at 6'1 is that the NCAA measures in shoes and rounds up, whereas the NBA measures barefoot and rounds down. That can make a huge difference.
@@deejaay Yeah I know, I just finished my sophomore season. I'm 6'2, maybe 6'3 but I'm listed at 6'5. Thats high school coaches trying to make their team look scarier than it is.
Every single player in the NBA has at least one or two inches added to their listed height. Everyone does this. Only player that's actually listed as shorter than he is is KD because he never wanted to play inside coming up
Landry is a great guy. I’m happy for him. He grew up in my area. I’m hoping this #1 pick does great things for the Hawks. He often went to shot at the local 24 Hour Fitness and he attended the church we go to.

@@joekim6548 "garbage draft class", ah yes, because we obviously know how they will develop once they enter the league... you're a bum if you think that the draft being labeled "bad" means that no players will become great.
I asked Fields at the game, “are we gonna keep DJ next season” his response…” what you think we should do?” I smiled, nodded my head yes, and said “Hell yeah” his response “okay then!” I replyed“what about Trae?” he smirked and walked away. He never said yay or nay but that’s what happened on April 9th at State Farm arena.
@@spideyhim8Salty 2023 draft loser spotted. Trash records come and go. The Spurs are one of the best franchises in professional sports. Pound sand you filthy casual 💀
It's hard to rebuild without their picks. But their picks aren't worth as much to SA until the Hawks move Trae. If I was ATL, I work towards getting all my picks back from SA by moving Trae there. If I were SA, I'd look to upgrade elsewhere with the hope that ATL implodes and the picks become super valuable, fast.
Spurs have made it clear again and again. There is 0.00% chance that they trade for Young, there is even less of a chance they give 3 picks back to the Hawks when they just got number 1, proving that if the Spurs wait for 3 years, they will have 3 high picks at minimum top 15. Why would the Spurs look at the Hawks failure for years, and then say "oh lets get the guy who caused them to be so bad" If the Spurs trade the 3 picks to the Hawks, they will want Trae and the first pick in the draft, so they can add Sarr to Wemby and have a defense that can cover Trae. Otherwise, no chance. Trae isn't worth 3 unprotected first round picks
I agree, but the Hawks should be willing to go below market value for Trae. No team is dying to get him, as you'd need to readjust your whole team due to his strengths and weaknesses. Honestly, Hawks extracted everything of a player like Trae, if he moves to another team don't be surprised with his numbers decreasing drastically
@@andredornelles8014they should let trae play for like a season then trade him because no one rn is willing to give much for trae. Also sas still has their picks
The most realistic way and most cost efficient for bronny to play in the nba with his dad is by the lakers signing him on a two way so that he can develop his game in the g league and play with his dad at the same time
Bonny isn’t good at all if you only average 5 points a game and in a whipped out team your trash, like how u not averaging at least 10 points no one in the draft is getting picked up that’s averages less than 10 a game and is 6’1 not happening this NBA and dudes really gonna take someone else’s dream away to make it into the NBA because he’s lebrons son it’s just sad fr
Spurs are getting Dejounte. It's a done deal. The Spurs need to incentive the Hawks to tank. The Hawks need to tank to make the picks really valuable. The most valuable usage of the picks/swap are to trade them in a deal for Dejounte, moving up in the draft to #1 from #4, and 2 future picks/swaps. Some variant of this trade makes sense.
Why do people give crap about the Hawks passing on Luka? He's no MVP but Trae led the NCAA in scoring and assists and was seen as a reach even as a Top 5 pick. The Suns and Kings don't even have the players they drafted before Luka and no one clowns them as much as the Hawks.
@@sherijms4 Luka was Euroleauge mvp at 17 Euroleauge finals mvp and also he won the European championship with Slovenia being the mvp there too at 17 ??!! Trae is a good player but he was playing with little boys while Luka did all that to grown men it’s not even close
ls crazy to me how in mid 2024, ppl still consider trading for Kawhi and Zion like that is a legit way to reinforce your team and build a contender. For real, that ship has long sailed, how blind someone have to be to don't see that?
The format to select the Draft picks should be easy: get the 14 teams that do not enter play off and make them play a tournament to win the first spots.
Superteam? In Atlanta? Lol. We can never get more than one all-star at a time and then we can't rest until they're bullied out of town by the media or worn down by front office ineptitude only to see them look better elsewhere.
If I was talking to someone intelligent I may have mentioned his unguardable pnr capabilities or even his growing knowledge of when to gamble on defense, but placing pearls before swine is usually frowned upon
I'm a Charlotte fan from Australia, So I don't pretend to know it all. BUT!! I think the NBA have a big change incoming, the CBA making financial changes are stopping super teams. Trae is going to a small market team who can afford him. Mark my words. Somewhere like Orlando.
Shai stats is literally the same last and there a play-in time and chet comes they become the 1st seed and everyone is telling shai is the mvp when chet is the most impactful in the team he can block and open up the space for the team
@@EduardoGrassoTV Ima thunder fan. Sure JDubb and a few others developed and helped, but the roster is literally the exact same as last year except now we got a 7'1 stretch big averaging 3 blocks a game as our anchor of defense. Having a wall in chet down there completely changed our game and is the #1 reason we're winning so many more games than last season.
It's not actually that big of a problem for the Pistons. This is not so much a "weak" draft as a draft in which the top 8 guys are more or less at the same level. Whatever player they get is bound to serve them as well as the first pick would have.
@@aleksandrgrishin4560Well that's a whole different problem, but a draft like this, which is rather homogeneous at the top, should work in their favour. And Cunningham hasn't turned out so bad, I would say, so all in all they should star to get better...
@@maniravsadhur8409 yes, he is good! They try to use him as do it all point guard though, but he’s more like paul George type. Duren seems promising, but rest of their choises are questionable to say the least

Indeed, this year's #1 is not going to get them past Celts, Bucks, Knicks or Pacers. Hawks will blow it up b/c Spurs are not going to give them back those two unprotected picks in '25 and '27.
He'll be a steal drafted in the first round if LeBron actually goes to that team and will take the veteran minimum, or whatever cap space that team has... even if it's just to sell tickets
Sam Prestie ruined rebuilding through the draft for everyone. He implemented the process. Now bad teams stay bad because they can’t get high draft picks.
Why is it that Lebron went to a cavs-Celtics game and people think that he’s up to something and putting pressure on the cavs and lakers, Tyrese Maxey literally went to a OKC-Mavs game, does that mean that he will either go to both teams? Maxey is from Dallas yes but Lebron is from Cleveland aswell, the hate Lebron gets is weird
The only place where he can win anything is the east. Cleveland fans are so dumb for wanting LeBron to come back to ruin their young team... He's an attention whore and goes to a Cavs game just to get attention and to fuel his nepotism plan with the Lakers.
6:20 Trae young is 6’0.5 and 164 pounds. Bronny is 6’1.5 210 lbs with a 6’7 wingspan. He’s like a Donovan Mitchell build he’s actually big for a point guard with his muscle mass he’ll probably be a combo maybe even a full time SG.
Call me crazy but Tre Jones is an unselfish and perfect PG for wemby....but pop dont play him consistent minutes but that 2nd half of the season when wemby went off...guess who was facilitating?....not sochan. PG aint as big of a need in SA as yall think. I say they need a wing tbh. Vassell is developing well, add a big wing who can shoot...might win something. Or take keldon off the damn bench and start him, he shows good moments too.
The team drafting Bronny will get Lebron, did everyone forget what he said... He is fed up with Lakers, even tho he was the one who destroyed the team, and he is still a good player
Hot take The spurs or Rockets make the postseason I think the Rockets getting 3 and the Spurs getting 4-8 make things really interesting. I'd personally take Houston of the group because Cam Whittmore Amen Thompson and Dillon Brooks give them a better wing rotation
trade dejounte and picks including the #1 pick for zion. they need to make a big swing, even if it’s high risk, if they wanna try to contend with trae. on the pelicans side of things, it’s no surprise they’re frustrated with zion’s lack of availability, so maybe they do the trade to build around ingram instead and bring in an excellent point guard, the one thing they’ve been missing
@@Jamar-lg9ob You do realize that the Spurs would probably not want to draft Sarr if given the 1st pick ? They actually don't need the 1st pick. And I doubt they'd take Murray back.

Dejounte as your best player is still mid. What has he done that Trae hasn't? Atleast Trae can prove he can lead a team to the playoffs and go deep. Dejounte is your third option on a contending team best case scenario.
this draft class is so inconsistently agreed upon i wouldn’t even be surprised if Atlanta fumbles the bag again. this could be a luka level mistake all over again for them, and it probably will be cuz their front office isn’t very smart apparently.
Hawks trade Trae for salary and their picks to the spurs. This is a huge win win because the hawks can rebuild while the spurs get two top ten picks and Trae to start contending
NBA Knows that Piston won't make an impact for the game and wont make the playoffs with this number 1 pick so they give it to the team that deserves it more and will push them on the playoffs picture in 1 to 3 Years
Sarr without Trae makes no sense. Sarr is a great defensive front court player who can help Hawks now as PF or C, but he can’t create his own shots. Trae and Sarr would be a good fit. Besides which star player would Hawks be able to get? They lowered trade value of the drafts already by calling it weakest draft in 11 years.
This isn't a bad draft. There's a ton of guaranteed role players with high floors. The issue is all the top prospects are raw without complete skill sets. I.E. topic, castle, Holland are all great without clean jumpers. Or Risacher buzelis and Cody Williams rawness. But there's a ton of NBA players in this draft, just not any that are guaranteed to be elite
