The King exploded for 30 points, including 16 in the first quarter, as LA rolled 117-102. I like THT and his potential, but he needs to be moved to the bench. His efficiency sucks and the Lakers already struggle with spacing. Also, I agree that AD has to be more consistent with his aggression, but he's working with lousy perimeter defense and very little spacing. There's only so much a big man can do with that.

You people run with anythjng the media says. Anthony Davis is averaging 24 and 10 right now shooting 52%. Best shooting percentage he’s had since he came to lakers. More points and rebs than he averaged last season. You people allow lebron fan boys to brainwash you. When Kobe and Shaq played the coach made sure the ball went in the post first. They almost let Boston back in the game after the starters were pulled. That’s definitely a cause for concern. I think the highest they can get to is the 4 seed but they have to start playing D and winning consistently. Otherwise it’s play in tourney again

I don't think Shannon watched the game. He just looked at stats. The Celtics came back to ten in the last 3 mins because of the bench players came in. After the timeout they shut that down quickly.

i've been saying this from the beginning of the season. The biggest reason LA is looking bad is because AD is playing at half speed for some reason. Russ is best on fast breaks and if AD would run the floor he could get a lot of easy buckets. But the biggest problem is his defense. The year they won the ring AD was all over the floor on defense trying to get DPOY. This year he shows glimpses of it and but just isn't playing hard. I'm ok with AD's offense being shaky because to me that was never his biggest strength. Even when they won the chip he wasn't the greatest on offense, a lot of his points were from running the break with Bron and getting Lobs for dunks and tip ins at the rim. I think LeBron can carry offensively it's just the defense they need AD to protect around the rim more than he is this year. He has it in him

The Lakers issues fall squarely on the shoulders of LeBron & Pelinka for trading youthful depth for Russell Westbrook and having to fill the remaining roster spots with much older vets. AD has never been that guy so people expecting him to adopt Giannis' mentality simply because that's what this current Lakers squad needs it's wishful thinking that will more than likely just get AD injured since he's not conditioned to play at the intensity level that Giannis plays at night in and night out.

AD is skilled offensively and he was huge offensively in the 2020 playoffs, he may not shoot the 3 like the average player but his mid, post game is special ... Injuries may play apart in why AD isn’t aggressive enough. We don’t need too much offensive load on LeBron. These last couple games Russ been great because he’s out running in transition so having him making an impact with his scoring and playmaking takes a huge load off LeBron.

It's hard to get consistency when you're a team with only 3 players from last year and to have 2 of those 3 players from last year in LeBron and THT to miss several games. They still don't have Ariza who would help tremendously with perimeter defense and Nunn who would be the primary ball handler off the bench who can put up 15 points on a nightly basis. The main issue is defense. There needs to be consistent passion on that end of the floor.

Ezekiel Elliot finished fourth in the league in rushing, and had 12 touchdowns during the season he held out, and was awarded a guaranteed $50 million dollars, the most a running back has ever gotten in league history. Skip said the guy fell off with those numbers I just stated. All because the man wanted his money….Skip makes a good point like a broken clock, he’ll be right every now and then.

@@carltillman5890 exactly. Do you want someone slightly below league average shooting 10 threes a game? Probably not. You want a 3pt specialist. He should be driving and drawing defenders to create better looks for his teammates. He’s a dominant driver and amazing at assist because of it. Edit: I’ve gone as looked at his 2021 stats. He’s shooting two more threes per game compared to last year and has a lower 3pt%.

Well his career percentage is still higher than Kobe's and MJ's even tho his 3 point line was closer. And all of this is not to mention that Lebron can create his own 3 at absolutely any time he wants and nobody on earth can stop it, so when he does get to 36-38% Greg. Its going to be a problem.

Funny how when Russ was trying to find his way in this team it was his fault. Now he is playing at an all star level, it's their defense, when really there defense has been the issue all along. Starting to call out AD too, who has also been the issue, but the narrative that Russ is the issue needs to stop.

Russ was an issue tho. He had way to0 many turnovers and also contributed to the bad defence. That being said I didn't blame him since he was trying to fit into a new team. Russ always takes a while to settle into new teams

That was the best team defense the Lakers have played all year. It wasn't great but it was good enough. They were jamming the Celtic ball handlers and getting in shooters' faces. If they can keep that going, the tide will turn.

A serious question for anyone who saw the second half of the game. Did Westbrook just all of a sudden go hot during the second half? Because I only saw the first half and saw Russell miss consecutive wide open shots with no one trying to guard him, and him losing the ball going to the rim on layups where it looked like he didn't even know how to hold onto the basketball.
