Gonna try to add some nuance to this - love the channel - I am NO LeBalco fan - but he did NOT say “black women”. She is getting this from ALL of them. Please read this - cause a lot of the white players are hating on her too. I never give credit to LeBron either but he is right. He tried to tie it to Bronny which is absurd cause CC never said she would cook the entire WNBA - Bron said his son could start for the Lakers and be better than half the league. I watched the WNBA and I watched the NBA and women’s college basketball, I watch every sport. I am going to ATTEMPT to inject a little nuance into the CC discussion. Caitlin Clark just played a full college season that ended four weeks ago. She has been with her new team for three weeks, which is the worst team in the WNBA and they started out with BY FAR the hardest schedule starting out with two super teams who both have been in the finals the last two years and one has the current MVP and each have multiple All-Stars on their starting lineup and have been together for years. Where Clark has been with her team for three weeks. The other women are rested she just played a full college season. She’s getting guarded, constantly double teamed and guarded with the intensity of Michael Jordan in game six of an NBA finals. No other rookie in ANY sport ever has gotten that kind of treatment. Not only that any reasonable basketball fan knew that her game is the skill game. What I mean by that is she is not bigger and faster and stronger than the women in the WNBA like LeBron was when he came to the NBA. is going to be fine. It’s just gonna take her some time to get her rhythm and get adjusted with new teams and for the other women to get over their jealousy and not try to run her out of the league. I am all for tough competition and not letting her win or letting her dominate. I don’t want them to make it like WWE like they did with LeBron. However, there is a vast and giving her the hardest schedule in the entire league and guarding her with constant double teams like it’s a finals game every second she’s on the court. So there are people that are ignorant women that are celebrating her downfall and I asked them if they are going to do a retraction videos when she starts playing well? But they will just move the goalpost like LeBron fans and just say that “oh well, she isn’t the best player in the league“. Her game is Steph Curry so her ceiling is to be like Steph Curry is in the NBA. She is not going to be physically dominating the other players. It’s going to be like she was in college. She didn’t physically dominate the other players there either. I just don’t think anyone wants to talk about this subject with any nuance. It’s the same thing I get pissed about with the LeBron fanboy because I don’t care if your favorite player is LeBron. He’s a great player, but they won’t discuss him or his career with any nuance. So let’s all just pump the brakes. It was crazy to say Clark was going to come out and average 30 every game in the WNBA but it’s also just as crazy to call her a bust or say she doesn’t belong in the league or all these people that came out of the woodwork like roaches to celebrate her “failure”.
