@@jamaragon2424they heat also had 4 all stars at one point and were betting favorites before every season they jus allergic to old ppl that’s why the mavs and spurs were too much
I would say the 2018 Rockets beat themselves more so than the Warriors beating them with key injuries (Luc A Moute, and CP3) one underperformer ( Clint Capela), and the 27 missed 3s and still losing by single digits.....with a 15 point lead at halftime without CP3. 2017-2018 season Rockets is the focus Don't bring up the yr after when KD got hurt....Rockets lost 2 key pieces in free agency and CP3 and Harden started feuding and the chemistry wasn't the same.
Of the 4 titles the Warriors won, I think their 2022 one was the most impressive. It showed that they were still there when a lot of people assumed their run was over. I think that's the one that meant the most to Steph too.
It does say a lot it says that warriors needed him for those back to back rings he won for them cause lebron would’ve had 2 extra rings if he wasn’t there to take charge 😂
@@jdapaul1351yawn .. warriors first finals after coming from no where with no established superstars coming into the season vs Bron in year 12 and 5th finals appearance
Everyone loves an underdog, and this team was ANYTHING but an underdog. People can get behind a single player trying to drag a trash team to a chip but something like the golden state avengers was a little much. That’s more of a testament to how good each of these players are/were but c’est la vie
@@doteth6603The warriors have 2 with KD , two without, KD has no rings without the warriors… KD should join the Timberwolves or Nuggets to maybe win another free ring…
The 2015-2019 era was an awesome/awful time in the league. The awesome was being able to witness the dynasty of GS, the other was the Cavs 3-1 comeback. The awfulness was how every team was pretty irrelevant until 2019 free agency.
All the finals besides 2016 was Cavs gifting championships to GSW. East was so weak that it was painful to see. Tbf, it’s still weak besides the Celtics and bucks, maybe take out bucks cuz they got doc rivers as the coach
The 2019 Warriors were so good that they lost KD in the 2nd round, made the finals anyways, stole 2 games despite KD only playing 12 minutes, and were up late in Game 6 until Klay tore his ACL. And they weren't even as good as the 2017 Warriors.
any team that can win a chip running a box and one in the finals cuz the other team is missing all their stars and most of their bench should have their ring taken😭😭@@mattsell2361
lol. Raptors were the better team that season (2-0 vs the 100% healthy Warriors in the regular season). It was only close because OG never played a minute of the playoffs, Kawhi was playing with a leg injury (which is why his PPG were way lower than they should have been against a weaker defensive team) and Lowry had a hand injury requiring major surgery. I think the fact that Nick Nurse didn't whine about the injury situation is why people mistakenly think they were healthy.
Thanks Nonstop, I’m new to Basketball, so it’s exiting to find out more about legendary teams! The voiceover is also perfect without any unessesary emotions
2019 was heartbreaking, so many injuries ruined everything. If Klay survived that game 6, we would go in game 7 and then.. yeah, we would never know. Glad we bounced back in 2022♥️
KD is a champion and nobody can ever take that away from him but him recently asking why he can’t be in the goat discussion is ridiculous. Bro you don’t even clear your teammate in that goat discussion. He’s top 15 but not top 10. No serious person would have KD in the goat convo
@@alliesstartedww1308 Up 3-1 with 2 home games for the warriors (Game 5 and 7) and don't forget Draymond puts up his best performance in game 7 (32pts 15reb 9assists)😬
@@sebastiangonzales46 And Dray, ond was suspended for a BS call. Lebron threw him to the ground. Anyone with working eyes can watch that clip and see this. Draymond wasn't given a T or even a foul. But somehow gets suspended? The fix was in bro and you're simply not intelligent enough to realize it.
What they Warriors lost with KD's departure, they got the combo of Wiggins and Pool: defense, scoring and playmaking. And they also had depth. The 2022 team was not the same team from 2017-2019.
God that 2017 revenge season after choking a 3-1 lead as Warriors fan was so sweet. We went from hated to despised in a single day and one signing and I loved every second of it. The amount of complaining and whining about them being too good was something I never thought I would’ve seen from a Warriors team
They won before and after KD. Shows how easy it was for him and how impressive that Cavs team fought considering who they had aside from Kylie and Lebron
Recent attempted super teams just validates this warriors team even more imo. We have seen in recent years a fair amount of super teams that have felt very short of their potential.
because there was no team in history that was able to stack the way warriors did, in comes down to you guys learning about cap spaces, and paycuts and such, and moral grounds, no one in history like bulls with mj would pull what warriors did in getting KD, same thing with prime shaq and younger kobe, it was an unforgivable written rule, then lebron ruined it, and kd made it worse
two things made this possible: 1. Steph was still on a cheap contract from when he was injury prone 2. The NBPA rejected cap smoothing for the new TV deal and opted for an instant cap spike which allowed GSW to sign KD
i agree. 2016 proved warriors didnt need KD but KD needed them. people say "oh but without KD they wouldnt get 2 rings" they still would get 2 rings even without KD.
I think the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 Warriors are the best teams ever assembled in the NBA. I’m picking either one of those teams over any other team in a 7-game series, all-time.
@@vulcanraven9701 ron harper is going to have a seizure guarding steph and Jordan finna feel like lebron being the only viable scorer on that team and then he's gonna have to chase klay off ball lol. KD is smoking scottie and u finna say "WhaT about Defense" until you realize the warriors finished top 2 in both offensive and defensive rating that season LOL. Warriors in 5 and that's being generous
I don't really have a problem with KD joining the Dubs. What I do have a problem with is him acting like the 2 rings with them puts him at GOAT status even though he left and they got another. He's the most delusional player in the NBA.
KD: "Why I'm not in the goat debate what havent I done" Everyone else: didn't win a real championship and ruined the NBA for 2 years because he was butt hurt. Everyone knows Curry was the best player and main focus of all defenses that played the warriors.
you really are a hater lmao... if you really watch and read the game you will know why... also fyi draymond clay Steph iggy gsw organization would say the same... not what you think and say
Him joining the warriors ruined an all time rivalry between bron and curry. They was at 1-1. Imo bron was going back to back. But KD shifted the balance. Also, the reason why people criticize Durant is not because he left OKC he left them to the team he JUST choked a 3-1 lead to in the playoffs. If he woulda gone for example to Houston with Harden and beaten GS to a ring, it woulda been legendary.
I grew up less than a mile from oracle arena, Steph was drafted the year I was born and I will never forget this era of not just nba history but my life. They put Oakland on the map and I will forever be grateful to have grown up in this city at this time. (2017 warriors are clapping 96 bulls btw)
The warriors didn`t need KD, they won before him and they won after him. KD needed the GSW so that he could be the guy after Harrison Barnes and the guy before Andrew Wiggins.
Maybe the history said that they didn't "need" KD, but I doubt they will ever win in a series against Prime Lebron and his healthy team. In 2022, LeBron has passed his prime. In short, they need KD to beat the LeBron Cavs, specifically.
Honestly, the Warriors got so lucky with the Rockets injuries like still, they got pushed to game seven that Houston teams would’ve crushed the Cavaliers
A ring is a ring. KD's career is better with Golden State than if he had stayed in OKC and never won a ring. But not all rings are made the same. Dirk's one ring is worth more than KD's two, which is why Dirk is ranked higher oat imo
I’m a Mavs fan and I’ll say KD is more talented than Dirk, but I agree i rather have Dirk because of his loyalty and the fact he could lead a team (an old team basically on their last chance btw) on an impressive run to a championship
Exactly. KD is a champion and nobody can take that away from him but he’ll never be in the GOAT discussion like he recently brought up. He made his bed and he needs to be comfortable laying in it. Curry will always be higher up on any GOAT discussion compared to KD.
@@deeblachvlogs5836 Mavs had one more chance in 2014. That roster is overlooked bc of an early first round exit but they took the eventual champ Spurs to 7.
@@deeblachvlogs5836 KD is better no doubt. But Dirk is greater. Dirk has faced countless 50+ win teams (I think more than anyone, if I'm not mistaken), he beat the defending champions LAL, OKC, Portland and the Heat. Dirk is not better, but he's simply greater by far due to that.
Question: What if KD stacked the deck again? Request a trade to the top 2seeds in each conference and stacked the deck again after that? Then enters the GOAT DEBATE
Well they won a chip before and after they left and made a lot of teams irrelevant. Even 2018 playoff LeBron which I consider the best form of him couldn’t take down that team. We know KD is good but until he wins a chip without the warriors or a super team he probably will keep being disrespected.
No one knows , its game 1, even kawhi didnt get hurt, warriors still win in that series cuz curry, klay and kd still hungry in winning championship rings no one cant stop this trio
Yep they both needed each other just to beat Bron. That 2015 title was Bs due to those injuries. When the cavs were healthy they beat GSW. So clearly KD and the GSW both needed each other. Idk why people can't see that. Kyrie and love don't get hurt in 2015. Cavs prob won those back to back. And would've made KD move even more logical. Nobody would be saying what they are saying now
Ya’ll can get triggered all you want but it’s the truth. I agree the cavs looked strong and bron definitely had a good shot at carrying the cavs forward. He clearly proved that. I’m not a Lebron fan at all but the proof is in the pudding.
Raptors beat them twice in the regular season (both times, the Warriors were 100% healthy). It's just a shame that BOTH teams were so crippled for the Finals. Raptors were without OG (their most versatile defender) and both Lowry and Kawhi were playing with injuries (Lowry had a hand issue requiring major surgery and Kawhi injured his leg/knee at the end of the Bucks series).
@@Paulafan5 at that point warriors did not take the regular season serious at all. When kd came back against raptor for that 1 quarter they were destroying the raptors. Plus they got raptors to 6 games and only started losing when klay got injured.
They eventually won in 2022. That speaks volumes on how good that team was without KD. They also won in 2015. Having said that, I think that the 2017 GSW is the best team ever assembled.
so much bout kd but u cudnt once speak abt how gud curry was during this period. all the gud part of the team u spoke abt was circling around kd and all the bad part around curry and the splash brothers. lowkey sad. are we really gonna forget how curry inhibited his own growth in ball for the overall team success. he cudve have played like how he does now way back then too. with insane finishes at the basket. hes just more than wht stats can show. and cmon he averaged just 2 points less than kd in the 18 finals. the main focus of defense was curry.
I'm curious if that 3 years of Dubs with KD, can they defeat the other teams in FIBA those years? Or the 90's Bulls team with Rodman, Pippen and Jordan? Given that all international players within both Dubs and Bulls will play, too. ?
who can you compare them to?, they got the job done, went a historic 72-10 and still won the chip. total domination of all other teams. if thats not your standard for the GOAT team then I don't trust it.
@@patrickoloko4184 I still believe the 72-10 Bulls are the greatest team of all time. However, just by a razor thin edge with all the skill and spacing of today's game. Plus, by the numbers, the 2017 Warriors were better. They're my favorite team all time but objectively, 72 wins with a ring edges out slightly.
