I don't understand how some people say "If I were religious I would buy his music"... Most of us aren't "gangsters" or "rolling in dough" or "drive luxury cars", yet we still listen, buy and rave about albums that promote that lifestyle... How can we contradict ourselves like that?? It's crazy!
Excellent point. I suspect some think buying JESUS music will cause them to feel bad about themselves - scared the Holy Ghost is gonna jump on them and they'll end up saved - which means they can't have "fun" no more. lol Sad but true. Ignorance is a loaded gun and its aimed at you - don't take that bullet - just buy the music and enjoy! Have a super blessed day :))
I want to thank lecrae because before the only hip hop i listened to was secular and not spiritually healthy. When i heard this album i literally deleted every song on my itunes and replaced it with music that honours God.
The same here bro. I used to feed my brain with Eminem, Lil wayne, Drake and songs from guys like dat. Once I knew about the Illuminati and Eminem being a part of it, it was a bit hard at first, but I had to repent. Hillsong United, Toby Mac, Chris Tomlin and Lecrae are some of my favorite artists right now. I thank God for turning my attention towards a whole new idea of relaxation and happiness!
Jude I. J. You need to get out and stop believing everything on the internet. And put that bible down and realize there are no miracles, No god. When you die you die lights out. Your all decaying organisms that came from millions of years of evolution. Good luck with life. Lecrae is pretty sick though. Just had to comment on this.
Carson Rutzer if you think death is the Omega(the end)...then death has to be the Alpha(the beggining) also? well, all with truth know that life is the Alpha and the Omega. after death is life. and that is the return of Christ, when the world waited for death...the christians waited for life. peace out.
Carson Rutzer and maybe you need to stop being so.judgemental, if some does not believe the same thing you do all well. You have no righy to tell someone what they believe in is wrong.
freedom of speech bud. Religious people always act so defensive. Just lean on the idea that i will go to hell and you will go to heaven. I'm sure that helps you when people criticize something that isn't real. Drunken prophets just want to mold you. That is every religion not just yours. Cheers.

I do not believe that he is a "Christian Rapper" but a rapper who is a Christian and is not afraid of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He, as all Christians, wants you to hear the Message in the way that you will understand. The Holy Spirit gives us our understanding but in order for you to receive the Holy Spirit, you must hear the Message, accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and trust and believe that He will save you. LeCrae gives you God's message in rap, in addition to not tearing others or himself down. Listen to it for what it is - a rapper who is Christian and does not want you to perish but to have everlasting life with God, thru Jesus Christ. LeCrae is not perfect, he is merely a man, expressing himself through rap! Enjoy!
I agree that he is merely a man, but I also agree that God is working through him. He has many songs that encourage you to read, he emphasizes that the Word should be an important part in your life. He also calls out those who don't preach the word correctly. He challenges me to truly consider who should be the center of my life, God. He uses rap to draw pop culture closer to Christ. I pray that he continues to preach the gospel through rap.
Just finished listening to this entire album nonstop nd loved all of it! I support nd respect Lecrae for letting God use him to speak nd minister to our generation
Lecrae has a gift from God. Eminem thinks he is good?! God anointed Lectae and Trip Lee. Just from a pure rap standpoint Lecrae crushes Eminem. Lecrae worships our God and that is the main point and God has given him a gift that cannot be matched.
Every good and perfect thing comes from our Heavenly Father, all our talents emotion and abilities, Lecrae just stewards his properly, to say that God has blessed lecrae but has not blessed Eminem is contradictory, because all blessings flow from the father.
hope you guys are supporting Lecrae and not just listening to this for free without doing so :m I bought some songs from the album and it's worth the purchase! :) God bless this man. In my opinion, the heavy hitters in Christian/Gospel rap are folks like Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tadashi, KJ-52, Da Truth and many others
I was almost in tears the first time I heard Lucky Ones. it is so amazing how God loves me. Yet i still struggle to live for him everyday. Love ya Lecrae keep up the encouraging music
Wow....I'm a new Christian and I noticed all the music I listen to is not good for the spirit.but ive always been apprehensive to listen to Christian music.especially Christian hip hop.but this guy has some serious skill...
Yes, true my advice is not to listen to hiphop. I listen to :Newboys,William Mcdowell,Hezekiah Walker they are praising God. How did u became a Christian like tell what u believed in and how it change you? I like to hear testimonies. God bless you.
gage brai If there is a god, he or she is certainly a god of this world. Do not reject the value in this world. If this world had no value, then why would a god create it?
Walt Duncan please remember through love God created it with free will, well His most loved creation anyways (people) and many have chosen not to love Him.
Walt Duncan Jesus came on earth, but was not From earth. He made this world, but the people follow satan, and make satan as god of this world. This world is full of sin and is destroyed so this world is not from God. The heaven is his world
***** Why would a good god give humans the ability to choose bad? I mean, I would want my child to have choices, but I wouldn't give my child a dirty needle.
Okay, I'm definitely buying the entire album right now!! I've listened enough times, im convinced. Not to mention a percentage of the proceeds to go spreading the gospel!! GOD bless Lecrae, lift the 116 Clique up in your prayers people, they are being used to fight a harsh battle.#UNASHAMED!!!!
This young man is annointed. Yeah If you dont see his gift .your ears are closed. He lifts my heart. PRAISE GOD.. finally a hip hop (CHRISTIAN)rapper that moves me. He is a rare gem.. not a carbon copy. Trials > tributalion TESTIMONY. God bless Lecrea Faithful follower here.
I just went through a break up with this girl that I loved dearly and I was really depressed. I was thinking about committing suicide. This album helped me through it along with a lot of help from my friends and my pastor. It's just amazing what God can do with Your trust and his power like or reply if you agree
this aint religious rap, this is true righteous and conscious hip hop, all glory to God in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! only those that receive the Holy Spirit can truly appreciate this music!
I have the greatest respect for the national and international gospel Rap I praise God for the life of Lecrae Preacher Luo , and for the life of Ao Cubo , please pray for them that God will use them increasingly in the praise in the name of JESUS !
Its a blessing to see such talent being used righteously for the Lord to reach out for lost souls. May God bless each and every reborn soul, and upbuild them perfecting their gifts the Lord's given em. May your works keep glorifying Him in the aboundance. In the abundance of a man's hearts he speaks.
Crazy, all these comments full of Judgement! Much Love to lecrae for him doing him. Jesus Saves, Peace out and much love to all the believers and shout out to the non-believers to!!
This is probably the best christian album i have every listen to!!!!! I've heard so much cheese christen rap, rock, etc… Finally i find something fucking awesome. Lecrae is like a christian B.o.B. Its the best rap Ive heard in a long time. Thank u God!!!!!
Awesome sound and lyrics. Lecrae let God continue to pour his love in you, Let Christ be the example on how to lead and let the Holy Spirit continue to guide you in the Truth. God bless you. This album is ministering to me.
Lecrea , dont stop making these wonderfull music where people even me can find themselfs in even lessons that i learn. Godbless you , your wonderfull works with god thru this music i can feel it everytime. Shitt to be very honest it helped me allot to leave criminality the world of sex drugs money blood and death. But im, still struggling with my back against the wall.. Lord please lett it Fall!
This was unexpected but this is really a great album. I listen to hip-hop & I rarely listen to christian hip-hop but Lecrae has made me reconsider. Lecrae deserves his Grammy Award!
@Matthew Buckham if you were referring to lecrae and 116 than that is a reference to romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
my gosh my youth group leaders where right if your looking for a new rapper lecrae is good. his message is good and not bad at rapping :) so glad i took a chance to listen to him
There needs to be a "LOVE" button! Great job Lecrae. Keep reppin for the one and only true GOD! You are truly a shining light. It's time to start making a new album (@lecrae) already lol in the mean time I'll be bumpin TEXAS style!
Yeah, God is certainly using this man and his music in glorious ways. For people who like this type of music, this can be a real God-send to open some hearts and minds.
Someone said, I think Randy Marx. This and Christians aren't original or doing anything original well honestly the fact that someone chooses to Rap for and about God consistently is out the box within itself. 30years ago you couldn't imagine Gospel/Christian Rap. Using the medium of Rap to express ones love for God is a great thing. Now it has almost become its own Genre only because Hip-Hop hasn't fully accepted it and well main Stream just dont know what to do with it. I say Talent is Talent and if the music is good that all that matters. More power to those who want to use their talents for God,for good, and make a change.
I totally got what he was saying.no confusion.he feels there is no innovation, nothing original and i disagree but its OK because we all have differences but we can all get along, by the grace of God. Blessing be upon you
Rehab album is the best cause just like you did something to me. Made me think... Lecrae is the truth. Higher powers do speak through him. I give my higher no names cause when it's there in front of me there is no doubt that I have doubt about who is in my presence. This higher power who needs nothing for than to hear a thank you and I'm grateful for the life you have out in front of me.
All you dudes out there who be reppin' God and living for him...keep doing it. Don't ever get tired or weary of living for Him. He will reward you if you keep going hard for Him. Never get discouraged. Keep your faith up. You got God Almighty on your side He will never fail you. Remember in the Book of Daniel the Angel told Daniel to be strong? That same angel is telling you the same thing.
dude i know im kindof late but before thiss guy was a crishtan he was a thug one of those kids from the hood he even riped pages from the bible at one point but the point is he had a pretty much secular life and one day out of no where he got saved thats the point of gods love he came to crea even when crea ran from him gods love is relentless and the thing is he liked hip hop and had a talent of rapping and so he used his talent to not only worship god but to reach others in situations like his
When people come and write negative stuff its just affirming what God is doing through that person great album Lecrae has taken his gift to another level
Yah need to focus on God and building your own relationships with CHRIST and not lecrae, lecrae is a man who struggles himself, lecrae can not save us!
Walt Duncan If you're trolling, that's a sad momentary pleasure. God doesn't hide in the sky, or reside in the sky as people think, though He's everywhere. Heaven isn't some earthy sky place, it's something that no human imagination can even fathom. Chill with the failtrolling, bro.
***** Well, I majored in religious studies at a Methodist college, focusing on Christianity and Judaism. When I was 21, I participated in an Episcopal program wherein I lived as a Benedictine monk for 40 days, and part of that included Bible/theology study about 3-4 days a week. And generally I was heavily involved in the Episcopal church until I was about 24 years old. Also, I have been friends with many priests, with whom I often talk about religion; in fact, I'm on a Minecraft server that is mostly populated by priests-4 or 5 priests and one freelance writer. I think I've given it a fair shake. In fact, I've kind of wasted a lot of my life on assuming that Christian theology had answers. If theology could produce one sufficient reason to believe, I would believe, but so far all I've seen are bad reasons.
jonathan sanders I thought I had responded to you when you first called me a troll. I was not trolling. I'm being sincere. A person who is willing to look me in the eye seems more accountable, more trustworthy, than a supposed omniscient god who seems to hide, even though it has been willing to prove itself in biblical times. I have more reason to look up to Lecrae, even though he is just a musician, than I do to an absent god. Don't beg the question by saying "oh no, He's here, right now" or something like that, because your reasons for thinking that would exist no matter what; you have no sufficient reasons to think God is present, you just say it is. You yourself could not differentiate if God was suddenly gone, because you have no criteria for God being here in the first place, you just assume it because of your preexisting belief. Presumably you count things like the mail being delivered on time, or your immune system ridding you of a virus, as proof that God is looking out for you-things that would happen whether or not God exists.
***** I remember my deconversion very well. I was in bed at night while working at a church summer camp. I wondered why such awful things happened in the world, when suddenly I realized that my desire to justify why suffering occurred only had the effect of me being able to pretend that suffering wasn't so bad. Ideas like "God having a plan" forced me to believe that bad things could somehow be good in the end, even though I could never see this good end in the real world. I realized that thinking this way ultimately would lead to permitting suffering without a good reason. I literally thought "this thing is poison." And I realized that any belief that permits suffering as its bedfellow is a wicked belief, so I decided the world was better off if I did not believe. So I professed my disbelief to my camp co-workers the next morning. Saying that I once believed is a bit misleading. I professed belief because my parents and authority figures impressed it upon me. I never had a real reason to believe. In retrospect I realize that my fervent involvement in the church and in my academic studies was all based upon the supposition that somebody had good reasons for believing, and that I could find them if I worked hard enough. But after talking to many priests and reading many theologians, I realized that in the simplest terms, no one had a better reason than the reasons they told me when I was 6 years old. The reason I stopped believing that night was that, in spite of my best efforts, I could not find an adequate theodicy for the problem of evil, and the emotional strain of lacking a theodicy overcame me. The arguments against every theodicy were always far more convincing to me than the theodicy itself. Of course, my rejection of religion wasn't strictly speaking on the grounds of reason, rather, it was a non-rational, emotional sort of justification. But I am convinced this is the only answer that could have dissuaded me, because my reasons for believing in the first place were never rational to begin with.
Not all of his songs are "religious". Its just that none of them are secular. What would it look like if youre rapping about God in one song but rapping about weed or money in another. Js
I don't label him a "Christian Rapper" I just feel he is a rapper who is Christian and speaks truth. But his mixtape Church Clothes 2 is a little more secular hip hop if that's what u mean
He's pretty good I must say,but my only qualm with Christian music is that it is so generic. If Christians are not of the world then why do they constantly have to follow the world's blueprint? I'm not saying that Christians shouldn't do hip hop or metal, but It seems that they should be more innovative if nothing else. For every Christian artist I've heard there's someone secular that sounds the same. I mean there's so many angles to take...you have people like Aesop rock, El-p, Mhz, Mf doom, Kool keith, Illogic, Rakim, Epmd, Madlib,Company Flow,Wu tang, Big Pun, Blackalicious, Nas, Mr. Lif, Danny Brown, Eminem hell even Lil B and the list goes on and on. so many actual innovators in hip hop and just music in general, but when it comes to the Christian side it's just carbon copy alternatives to secular music with clean lyrics. The only truly original Christian group I've ever heard is anathallo.........It's just sad because I don't mind Christian themed music but I also crave originality, and they're just not bringing it.
***** I totally understand, but my point is that there are no originators in the christian scene. There's only artists following along with what's already out. If a christian artistn came out with an original style, that was truly dope, they would be accepted by a lot more non christian hip hop heads. Originality is one of the things that hip hop was founded on and it's slowly dying out, even in the secular market, but i don't think the christian market ever had it.
djquiz6425 i actually listened to the whole album....church clothes 1,2 and rehab as well. Not discrediting the man, I just think if you're in touch with the creator you could create your own style.
From a musicians perspective, originality is lacking in almost all modern music. Rarely do I hear really "Original" music. As for Christians sounding like secular artists, you've got to draw from something. Especially musicians that come from a secular background like Lecrae. He's more original than all your "K-Love artists"... Worship music is soooo cookie cutter. I hear you man, but is not just Christian music, its pop music in general.
very well put together album...thank God for young men & women in the music and entertainment undustry that live for & follow Christ #LetOurLightShine #LiveHoly
Man it's too bad this guy is religious he could have been huge if his mind hadn't been crippled to believe in such silly things... good songs but the whole jesus thing makes things a bit rediculous.
There are millions of good rappers, the only way to get huge is the content. Lecrae is the only good Christian rapper, if he didn't make religious songs no one would listen to him.
Man it's too bad your still blind to the truth but you can still be saved, if you let your mind not be so crippled to believe in such corruptive things... God bless you but the whole being lost thing makes your comment a bit ridiculous. Much love and respect!
Stefanos713 If I am supposed to believe in something unseen, why Jesus and not Vishnu? When no gods are holding press conferences, but all of them want me to believe in them, by what criteria do I make the right decision?
Walt Duncan People generally choose their believed God and religion based on the morals of that religion and the history of it. There is no way to prove any God is real, but it can make a happier person, and it might force you to follow morals in your life you wish to but cannot without anything backing it up.
Relisten to this whole album with the perspective that Gravity is our sin. I wanna go somewhere with no gravity or sin. When God takes away our sin/gravity we get higher. Soon all our gravity/sin will fall down. So well thought out
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalms 18:2
For the people saying Christianity is corrupt it's not its the "Christians" that are corrupt don't let them drive you away from god he is the best thing that has happened to my life and I now realize I can't live a day without him
YES. Heard it here first buying it today TWICE (just to support). I'm still bump'n Rebel like it just came out. Heard this and almost had a seizure. Keep preach'n over beats dude! Lacrae, keep focused man! God Bless.
receiving the Holy Spirit doesnt mean you're a Christian, it means that you know exactly who is overseeing your life. i'm not puttin you down because i was also in that dark place. but i am still here because of the will of God. Jesus Christ truly is the light of my life. so when i here lecrae truly praising the Lord it connects with me on a spiritual level. i believe that you also are here because of God's will, seek him out, learn the truth about him and he'll welcome you with open arms.
