Take a ride with us! We purchased Lectic Ebikes, back in November of 2020, we decided this year to put the battery to the test. We routed an 11 mile loop and Joni set her bikes PAS on 5 and tried not to pedal assist. Join us to see just how far the ebike can go.

Great video & experiment guys! We usually get mid 30s on our lectric 1.0 step throughs. We always peddle in pas1 or 2, tiny bit of throttling when necessary.

It doesn't matter which PAS mode (1 thru 5) you are in if you use throttle only (no pedaling). If you use throttle only, the battery range will be the same whether you are in PAS 1 or PAS 5.

Physics says otherwise. 1 thorugh 5 throttle only range will vary WILDLY based on the terrain. You'll go way farther on flat roads, than hills...
@Milesco
@Milesco Год назад
@@bikebudha01 We're not talking about hills or flats. We're talking about Pedal Assist modes. Sonny's point was that if you're using the throttle only, then it doesn't matter what Pedal Assist mode you have the bike set on, because you're not using the pedals. _______________ (Now, having said that, as a practical matter, the tester in this video *_did_* have to use the pedals occasionally in order to get get up some of the hills. In those cases, the choice of Pedal Assist level _does_ matter, of course, because a higher level will try to maintain a higher speed. But again, that only matters if and when the rider is using the pedals.) 😊
@bikebudha01

@@Milesco no, we are talking about battery capacity and range. sonny said your range will be the same no matter what pedal assist level you use. Tha'ts just not true.

We hope it helped, we still love our e-bikes! Mike recently got the lighter ebike, we do love having a bike 20lbs lighter. We carry them in 55gallon totes inside of our rig under the kitchen table. Owners manual says 25miles on pur throttle pedal assist 5...flat ground ...180 lbs.. ..75 degrees temp.....30psi tires... little to no wind... so their test fits...they had some pretty steep hills and got 20 miles ...I've got three batteries on a 2.0....two stock 10ah and one 20ah hailong... I very gotten sixty five miles....30 on the two stocks...and 35 on the Hailong...have 2 battery balancers connected to all three...can control each separately or all three together...so far I've only let them go down to three lines ...mixed conditions...I weigh 150 and I have 27lbs on the back with two batteries and basket ( 7,13,7lbs). Will probably get at least sixty miles if I run all at the same time down to one line. My ride has hills and different roads...dirt,gravel, paved..head winds...in the rockies.

How do you like your Premium? I'm considering one and going to look at a used one in the morning to check for size. I'm 5' 1" and need to check seat height and handlebar reach before committing. I thought that I could swap out to different handlebars, but after seeing some YT posts it might be a pain. lol
@racrx7
@racrx7 Год назад
@@lahawk7410 it’s a heavy bike for one. Difficult to fold up and lift. The factory derailleur was not good and made for inconsistent gear selection, but I upgraded that and it works fine now. Speaking of gear selection, you have to ride this bike like it’s a manual transmission automobile, meaning you gotta up shift and down shift while going and stopping. Didn’t take long to get used to that though. The bike has enough power and torque and just the right amount of assist can be dialed in. I like the torque sensing feature as the power assist comes on nice and smooth, no scary lurching like many hub drive motor bikes so. I have it with me on vaca right now and getting lots of ride time. One thing I’ve discovered, and have heard a few mentions of this, is that it can get a little wobbly at higher speeds. Some thought it was the handlebar placement being too far forward, well it’s not. I’ve moved my bars back like many and still have the wobble. The real problem is the frame area where the front battery mounts is quite flexible, not good! Would I buy this bike again?, more than likely not. But sounds like you have the benefit of test driving before buying. Take it for a spin and form your own opinion from there.
@lahawk7410
@lahawk7410 Год назад
@@racrx7 Thank you for your honest review after having the premium for awhile. It is tough cuz just a little ride and several days or weeks between testing it's hard to remember and compare. I just felt like nothing has everything I'm looking for, but they are changing them all the time, so go with the flow until something else comes around. Like everything else being petite can be a challenge whether it is eye glass frames, bikes or clothes....always between girls and adults! Enjoy your vacation!!

If you go downhill the whole time you could get 40/60miles!! Lol jk

Funny how they mention peddle assist but are doing a throttle only test. Doesn't seem very knowledgeable about ebikes because thats a throttle only test. PAS has zero impact on that
@ThoseWhoGlampTogether
@ThoseWhoGlampTogether 2 года назад
We are very aware of how they work! How about trying to focus on the content and added value of knowing how far you can ride “throttle only” in hilly terrain, or are you just that miserable that you need to find “fault” in everything someone else spends time and effort doing?
@jbrown4137

@@ThoseWhoGlampTogether not miserable at all. But accurate information is important if your talking about added knowledge.

The book says 25 miles pure throttle, flat ground, no wind, plus I think the head light was on? That uses battery as well. I'd say it did what it's advertised to do.

@ThoseWhoGlampTogether

That would be disappointing. That’s a lot of money just to get 20miles. Yikes should see if your able to trade out a battery for a new one.

The XP has too small a battery and their hyped up mileage is very disingenuous.

get a t plug parallel connector female to male, male, reconnect internal battery then extend a t plug to xt60 or connector of your choice to back rack. make sure to power off battery as you alternate them (never have them on at same time or you can damage stuff). It will add weight to the 63 lbs bike.

@RidingMTL-QUE Biking Kayaking...thanks! I do have an extra battery and i think i have all the connections. I'm just learning the difference between parallel and series connections. I'm getting ready to try a hook up and see what happens. Thanks for the tips about turning one off. Can i just turn the battery off at the key or do I need an external on/off switch? Thanks, appreciate all the help i can get.
@ridingmtl
@ridingmtl 3 года назад
@@mrmagoo9901 in the case of the inboard Lectric XP one just remove the key when it is in the off/lock position and make sure to have an on/off switch/key on external device. Before turning it back on i unplug the xt60 then i insert the key to turn it on to use internal device. (Plus between i power up the computer so it will empty any leftover voltage before powering on the alternate device)

@@ThoseWhoGlampTogether yeah but the warranty will be up by the time your battery is no good. You should be able to get a few years out of a battery as long as you aren't running down below I believe 10% is the recommendation. But running it down completely like that your going decrease the life.
@clothedandcompetent3452
@clothedandcompetent3452 2 года назад
They are lithium. Lithium is fine to run down to below usable voltage, but for max life should only be charged up to 80%. You are thinking of lead acid batteries.

Warning below: Nice video and looks like an excellent bike, but I have found policy everyone should know and particularly International and Canada if you read their no return policy, its basically a “buy it at your own risk” and no returns. Website Policy: You may cancel your order for a full refund up until the time you receive your shipment confirmation email with tracking information. If you cancel after your order has been sent you are responsible for the return shipping fee. In addition, the original shipping fee we incurred to send the bike to you will not be refunded (even when ‘free’ shipping is advertised). Our refund policy is ‘All Sales Final’. Unfortunately, we can’t offer a refund or exchange after the bike has shipped.

20 mile stretch istnt bad for the XP bike as im just after buying my second e.bike in a 5.year stretch. My 1st e.bike was CARRERA CROSSFIRE, it did 20miles in its hghest cruise mode setting with PAS no throttle. My My new one is RKS .e.bike same frame & wheel dementions as the LETRIC XP wheels 20 x4.0 & foldable. The RKS does just over 20miles with its PAS 5. and some exercise again No throttle just kick down with cruise mode 1-5 and 7 speed shimano gears
