I just want to say thanks a million. I have my fog lights running again. This videos was a great help for me. I had been struggling to get them working for over 6 months now but thanks to this video problem solved.
Is your headlight and fog light still working? Do you think the resistor is sill worth buying for the sequoia? I already upgraded my headlight to Led but I’m thinking about fog lights now
This is awesome. Im going to do this with my 2007 Sequoia. Although i really wish that you left links in the description for the products. I hope I can find the right items.
Thanks brother!!! Just came in from upgrading my headlights and fog lights and have the same issue. 04 Tundra. Looks like I need a 'Canbus Decoder Resistor'. The one you posted is out of stock(**edit** ..and is still out of stock) so I got one from Amazon(**edit** Didn't work). Thanks again..
Question, on your description for the resistor you have part number H4-RL650-M. (Price $ 8.95) I beleive that "M" is for motorcycle? Can you confirm the one necessary for sequoias is H4-RL650-H? (Price $17.95) Your first gen. Sequoia looks great. Thanks, cheers from the bay area!
Yes, i can confirm that only ONE is necessary, it will go on the passenger side between the factory plug and the new headlight bulb. it’s been about a month since i instilled it, and it’s been PERFECT, such an awesome solution!
@@jaimemartinezjr6639 I purchased the H4-RL650-H. That's what I was trying to let Toyota Fanatics know. He has the wrong light. I've installed the H and no issues. M is for motorcycles. Some one i know did an LED upgrade on a 2006 sequoia an went with this set up from Amazon. Sealight H4/9003/HB2 LED headlight bulbs x1 series dual high/ low beam xenon white 6000k 6000lm. Sealight 9006/HB4 LED fog lights bulbs, cool 6000k xenon white,4000lm non polarity. No resistor needed. If i had to do it again id go w sealight. Hope this helps
C Garxia did you buy the H from superbrightleds? If so can you provide the sku number please...that bar number. I returned the M and ordered the H but got the H4rl650 - 1...
@toyotafanatics1 Good to know, I Will be mounting mine by the battery side wall and then I bought ceramic fire insulation that stands up to 2600 degrees heat on the side of the battery for extra precautions. Don't want the battery or headlight wiring to get to hot.
Hey man. New sub here. I just ran in to an issue where I installed new LED head lights and fog lights, now my fog light button turns on high beams and I don’t get any fog lights. I figure I need a resistor? I have one on the way, I drive a 2000 tundra, would the resistor go on driver or passenger side?
I put the resistor on the driver side, had a great spot after removing the battery. This fixed lights but now truck idles much lower at 500 rpm and check engine light just turned on. I will unhook and install resistor on pass side, and report if that fixed this.
Disregard, lights are good. Installed resistor also on passenger side, tried with both and then neither and then with just passenger side, no changes, except when both resistors were disconnected it went back to no fogs, no HB indicator, and the fogs turned headlight to high beams. Idle and Check engine light Issue was apparently a combination of having a disconnected vacuum line from air box to fuel pressure regulator, combined with having battery off for too long. Shop said check engine light was for fuel pressure being too high (60 psi) and the battery off caused a relearn of engine idle speed. They found and reconnected vacuum line and reset idle speed (? by computer?) All is good, lights are fine, 1 resistor on passenger side. I cant believe Chiltons manual item 1 - disconnect battery, is now not likely a good idea. I must be wrong on this.
I watched the video and replaced my headlights and fog lights like you shows on your video for my 04 tundra and I even bought the same resister. My question is, after that does your brights work at all?
@@toyotafanatics1 Thats correct. My fog lights work just fine but I dont have brights or my brights are on continuously. Not sure if this is a fuse issue or not?! Any advice?
I installed some LED bulbs in my 2006 tundra and they’re stuck on high beams and it either caused the fog lights to burn out or just not turn on. Will this resistor solve my issue ?
If you turn on your high beams the fog lights will turn off that's the way they set it up from the factory that way you don't blind any one on the road
Just got a 2002 sequoia a couple weeks back and have been following your videos. Super helpful. I did the LED’s headlights, LED front corner lights and also added LED Foglights. Mine needed the Resistor from superbrightLED’s to get the foglights to work. Everything works great and looks great, except the only thing is that now when I lock/unlock the car with the FOB the front parking lights don’t flash anymore. Only the tails. When I look really really closely I see the corner LED make a very small flash of a light but no where near the full potential. Have any experience with that issue? Hoping to get this function back so I can find the car in parking lots when approaching from the front (granted the lift I want to put on will probably help too haha) Please let me know, love the content.
That’s a very unusual problem that arose after swapping to LED’s.. it seems like there’s a problem with those specific LED’s you installed in the corner lights.. i’d buy some other cheap LED bulbs and try them out and see if they work or not.. then go from there.. it would bother me also to not have those lights work with the fob locks and unlocks..
@@toyotafanatics1 good call on trying some other LED’s to troubleshoot. Could be because the ones I used are white/amber switchbacks for the blinkers (which I do like). I’m gonna add an amber DRL by tapping the corner light power (my new housing have the spot for it bc they are technically for an 05-07) and I think that might solve my issue bc then I’ll have bright LED’s in the front that flash when locking/unlocking. Might make it on my project list for this weekend along with some amber grille lights so I’ll report back haha
@@toyotafanatics1 I did install the resistor on my passenger headlight. It made my fog lights work and high beam switch work. But when engage the high beams the fogs go out. Bought the same resistor you did. Not a big deal but was curious how to fix. Don’t use high beams that much.
@@toyotafanatics1 yes I did and the fog lights work. Same resistor you showed on your video. But when I engage the bright lights the fogs go out. 2000 Tundra SR5. Not a big deal but I didn’t know if that has happened to anyone else.
@@derekgendron415 If you haven't figured it out, the fogs only work on low beam. Fog lights by nature are yellow. They cut through the fog reducing glare. High beams are not used in fog because they make viewing worse by reflecting light back. Myself, I don't like the white color of the headlights in the rain. The stock color pierces the rain better.
You are a life saver man. Quick question, have you replaced all of the interior lights to led as well? If so, which ones did you use? Any issues like with the exterior lights?
i’m happy i was able to help. YES, i changed out every interior bulb, and the rear license plate bulbs also. If you go to superbrightleds.com they have a place where you put in what vehicle you have and it will list all the bulbs you need.. they have excellent prices also. basically you need 6(194 bulbs) 2 for the front map lights, 2 for the center map lights, and 2 for the real license plate bulbs, and then you will need 2(DE3175) bulbs, 1 for the front dome light (between the map lights) and the same for the middle dome light. they will look fantastic.. make sure you get “natural 4000k” color, it’s looks the cleanest and provides the best light output.. and there were no issues like with the fog lights.. you’ll be good! any other questions, i’m here for ya!
Great Videos, Part One and Part 2. Please link Part 2 in Part 1 comments. If there is a follow up to part 2 please link it. Maybe even put them in a playlist? Anyways Great Job and 44 degrees is cold for Californians. LoL
I have a 06 Toyota Tundra that I just installed LED and just did resistors too and everything works perfect but when I use my high beams, my fog lights stay on as well. And when I put them on low beam they stay high beams...
Sweet Sequoia, and nice update. Unsure about the white fog lights tho. Making them white makes them useless in the fog. Too much reflection. Yellow PIA's would fair a lot better in the fog but they wouldn't look as good.
Ok so my lights didn't work. My headlights are the T2 JDMASTAR with built in resistors and my fog lights are from LASFIT with switch back mode also have built in resistors. All 4 lights have built in resistors and my fog lights didn't work. My fog light switch just turns on my high beams. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem. Do I need this product then ?
Oh look, yet another click bait video. Your host today will be . . . an average bloke sporting a loose, green sweatshirt, not a gorgeous young woman with boundless enthusiasm and a cheerful personality.
