Hey there, its me again LOL!! Still loving all the upgrades on my truck that I stole from ya!! Only thing I did different was instead of changing the bulbs in my cab break light, I got an entirely new LED light, cargo lights r white LED as well in it, since my truck is black I got the smoke colored lense, it blends rite in with the truck so no more red across the back of the cab unless I hit the breaks. Light was only $34 off of Ebay😊

I followed you on all the lights also and had no problems. My headlight switch was doing the same thing yours did. I tried what you did in your other video, but it didn't fix it. I found one on Amazon for 52.00. Thanks again for all the videos.

Great video. I have a 2011 Ram and I replaced all led and the backseat light I put a 48 led panel and it goes dim, sometimes stays off, and sometimes works perfect. Good to know I not the only one

Hey John, just letting you know: I bought the Hikari per your recommendation. I run them in the fogs and the low beams. I have a 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie and surprisingly I didn't need any can bus error delete modules at all. I've had them for about 4 months and I'm super happy.

It looks nice man. Like I said before been running headlight revolution kit l. Started with the 4300k 55 watt holy shit they were bright and looked good. People flashed me all the time. Wanted a hint more blue and wanted to dim them down a tad so went with the gtr 5k bulbs and weirdly they looked more yellow to me. Luckily headlight revolution has a badass warranty and sent me the 5k bulbs for free. I then told them I was having some weird dark spots which I think is from the filament on the bulb. They sent me some 6500k morimoto bulbs for free and it seems to be pure white with them. Still having those weird lines from the filaments. Been running the c6s I love them for 26 bucks. A little blue for my liking but still look badass. I think if I put the hikari led fogs in it would match my morimoto 6500k perfectly. Honestly at this point the 300 bucks for the kit has paid off since they sent me a couple sets of bulbs at no cost.

Hey Jody your truck should use a H11 for low beam but I would go with these (they make them in every bulb type so double check your fitment) amzn.to/2LCeuVy You will also need these CANBUS adapters to keep the bulb out light off which you can grab HERE amzn.to/2RBJsRk

Purchased the reverse bulbs (LUYED 2 x 1700) that you linked. Upon removing the rear taillight I realized that this bulb didn't work with my 2014 RAM outdoorsman. The Luyed KED linked is way too big. I think I found the proper replacement bulb on amazon but not all these bulbs work for all RAM's. Hopefully the lights I ordered the second time will be as bright as the ones linked. Regardless, thanks for doing all these videos. I look forward to them.

Ah that sucks Charlie! Yeah for some reason the bulb type is different for the LED tail lights! Always double check the bulb type before ordering cause RAM has switches this stuff quite a bit especially the headlights from year to year.

2 questions for ya!! the hid's arent too hot for the projectors? and whats the difference between HIDs and LEDs in the projectors?

HID aren't too hot. The difference is in the way the light comes off the bulb. The HID is a filament type bulb that blasts light in all directions similar to a a halogen and works better with how the projectors are designed resulting in better light output. Sorry just seeing this now brother! RAM changed the bulb types on some years. If your truck has projector style headlights and led tail lights from factory all the bulbs will be the same except for RAM changed the projector low beam bulbs to 9005 in 2015. If you have halogen headlights and tail lights from factory a lot of bulbs will be different including the reverse bulbs. I'll make a video clearing this all up soon!

Hey so I have the standard single Halogen I believe I need the H10 for Fog, H11 for lows, and 9005 for high beam, I don’t mean to seem dense lol but I can’t find the links in the description so if it’s not too much trouble I’d really appreciate if you would paste the links that I would need to purchase the correct bulbs based on my particular set up! Did you ever run into an issue where the HIDs in your headlights are working and suddenly just shut off and won’t come back on? My 2015 Ram isn’t throwing a code of any kind, but the headlights will work for about 5min and then suddenly shut off while driving and I’m left with only my fog lights.

The higher quality led lights like those D.D.’s Or the supernova V4 will definitely be way better than stock and quite a bit better than John’s hikari’s... still not as bright as the hid. I ordered 55w GTR HID which are $300 but have a lifetime warranty and the reviews are fantastic. Oem hid quality!

Did your truck come with those projectors or did you mod the original. That is a nice looking truck. I have to upgrade mine but I'm still under warranty. Just doing little things like trailer brake and tool boxes. Getting it ready to tow a travel trailer.

I switched out headlights to spec d led/ projector now I get a parking light out error message. After contacting them they say it a random issue have you had issues, if so how did you fix?

C6S have been great for fogs. I wish I did HID before buying LED for the headlights. Oh well.

The HID setup I have is super cheap Jay and definitely worth the hassle! I would swap it out if it were me! If you already have canbus adapters for your low beam all you need is the 55w HID kit I got which is about $45

Ever consider a video on modding your Fogs to stay on with the High Beams? There are some forum posts about running a relay and a trick with flicking the high beam lever forward quick (doesn't work for everyone though).

What I did was get a current sensing relay and loop it around one of the high beam power wires. the current relay energizes a Bosch type 12v relay. i also bought 2 9006 plugs to just plug on the back of my LED fogs and zap strap the factory fog halogen bulbs/harness up behind the bumper. so this way you lose fogs unless you turn on the high beams, then you have high beams and fogs on at the same time. also have a 1row X 40” wired in too... so high beams, fogs and lightbar on at the same time using the high beam switch in truck.

Hey brother I just got the 20 Ram 1500 Night Edition but I got it with stock headlights. What do you think is better for that truck Led or HID? I was told that I can’t put LED’s in the truck but I think the guy didn’t know what he was talking about. Any help would be awesome

Hey bud I have an 0& ram 2500 I’m trying to install led tail light bulbs and the passenger side works fine but the driver side all I get is turn and brake no running light the stock bulb works fine just the led has a problem I’ve swapped the bulbs around tried a whole different brand led just can get a led to give me running light on the driver side any help is appreciated

Boostedmotorsports Once again great video bro, I went with your original recommendation for the fog light with the C6s and the LED Hikari's in the low beam plus the Luyed in reverse plus license plate 194 LEDs all working great so far, cleaner look and no error codes. My question is being that your truck had a different bulb size than mine (9005 for me) would the output be different vs yours? Any help would be greatly appreciated, again great videos keep them coming

Hey Frank! After a bunch of testing I would shift your Hikari LED to the fogs and get yourself a Innovited 55w HID kit for the low beams. MUCH brighter than LED in the low beam projectors 👍

BoostedMotorsports I don't think that would work, on my 18 Ram the bulb size is 9006 in fogs with a 9005 in low/high beam, besides the C6s is a clean look plus plug and play with no wire routing. TBH I'm also not set comfortable drilling a hole through the dust cover for the HID's yet...lol

You can buy after market dust covers from bright source that'll allow you to feed your wires thru with no drilling. Had mine for a year and a half with no issues with water or dust collecting.

So I dont know if this was addressed but the factory bulb in the projector ram 1500 is 9005 but the link you provide is 9006. Is this intentional? If so, are you converting them to 9006?

Defenbach great question! RAM switched the bulb types on these headlights for some reason even though the headlights all look almost identical so if your truck uses 9005 grab the 9005 version but they are a pretty similar bulb just the tabs are slightly different. They can be modified to fit by trimming the tab on the bulb if needed. Hope that answers your question! 👍

So the link to the c6 bulb takes me to NAO bulbs that cost $24.99. I search c6s 9006 led and it brings up a set of 6500k for $13.99. Is the 6500k the ones u used in your old videos? Have the prices came down that much? Mainly just wanted to use the c6 so that i dont need a canbus decoder for the fogs

Go with the 55w and buy separate adapters it will be brighter. I haven't tried those brighter Hikari bulbs but they are probably pretty damn bright! Thanks again for the support on the channel! A lot more content on the way for this thing!

Help! I have a 2016 Ram 1500 (laramie) Fogs: 9006 Hikari led kit with canbus decoder Low beam: 9005 55w 6k innovited hid kit with Hikari canbus decoder. Both of my headlights and fog lights shuts off after 20 min or so while driving. The only way to turn it back on is to turn off/on engine. Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Question. I know it’s been a while but I just installed this hid kit and canbus adapter. Lighter flicker at startup a bit. Still testing though to see if it continues. Am I doing something wrong ? Really enjoy yours vids just need some help.

Hey John (or anyone else that can help) I have done the map light and rear interior light like you shared in your video. My front map led kept burning out if I was working on my truck and had to have doors open. So instead of the lights you have linked I tried Cree bulbs and the samething has happened I'm think about trying the leds you recommended with a inline resistor. But I'm not sure what size resistor. Maybe a start with a 650 ohm resistor? I also did the rear interior light like you. I remember you saying you burnt your original light out where as I used a knife and just ripped mine off the circuit board 😁then I ohmed the board and soldered and red and black wire on it and my rear light has been working fine and never burnt out or dimmed. Did you ever resolve your dim light from making this video?thx for the awesome content John!!!

Thanks Randy! The lights I installed held up fairly well although full disclosure they were very cheap so not sure how good the quality is/was. The driver side did have a couple led on the panel that would flicker from time to time. Wasn't a connection issue but rather just a few bad LED on the board. As for the rear I honestly never got around to it. I know we should have tapped into a better power source on that board though for sure. If I were to redo it I would de-solder the original LED and solder the wires to those contacts.

@@BoostedMotorsports yeah I was looking for a better built or more expensive leds to install but no. Luck finding anything else. So I order more of the cheaper kind. Hopefully it was just the heat that burnt them out the 1st time. So this time I will use a resistor to make them a little dimmer. Plus it was a little too bright for me anyway. I think I will thermal paste a copper pad to the back of the Leds and also try a resistor to keep them a little cooler and dimmer. My rear dome is still working great and dims with the rotary switch. I appreciate you posting your videos to help us out and give us ideas for awesome mods 👍😉

I got the 55 w innovited kit with the Can Bus connector sometimes they work and sometimes it says low beam out and my lights won't work at all. I have the OBD link coming so I can use the alpha OBD but I'm sure how to use it do you have any pointers?

I didn't order a separate can bus adapter just the one that came with the kit. Does that make sense?

Have you heard anything about LED bulbs not working in some Ram 1500's with projectors? I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Sport and I bought some LED bulbs from Diode Dynamics but the beam pattern isn't quite right and they seem to have a "dead spot" in the middle. Diode Dynamics had no answer for me and say is a fluke and happens from time to time on certain trucks, They fit fine and installed easy, but something for whatever reason isn't working with my truck as far as their beam pattern and brightness.

Sure have Cody! I actually did a video on exactly this and show everyone the difference. I also recommend a super bright and reasonably priced HID kit which is better suited and brighter for these trucks. Looks nice, I always have bad luck with HID or LED, HiD always fail on me even with the resistors & the other wire harness, LED just dont last long enough & start flickering when they are going bad, maybe I need to start buying the expensive ones lol but I think ima start doing what you do, if you don't mind, what exactly do you have on there?? Cause I don't want to go back to halogen

Yeah you'll still need the same canbus adapters but you'll just need to get some different bulbs. I would go with some quality LED like these just double check you bulb type as there are different bulbs depending on what headlight you got and what year. amzn.to/2X4WN8C

Been reading through a bunch of comments of people having issues with ballast or canbus adapters. Any suggestions yet on different canbus adapters? Was just a few minutes away from ordering all of the lights before reading through the comments.

Hey Dustin, I haven't tested a better canbus adapter as of yet but its on my list. They are a fairly inexpensive portion of the setup and usually a $20 part but the Hikari ones don't seem to last as long as we would like them to. I'm still rocking the same setup and light output is great but I'll revise it soon 👍

When I click on the link for the headlights it keeps saying they are not compatible with my truck....I have the exact truck that you are working on...it doesn't seem to like the 9006...keeps wanting to change the light to H11...are they the same thing?

You said in the video for the low beam HID Innovited lights were not the best fit for these Rams. Are you able to recommend any other HID’s that won’t break the bank? I’ve been looking but unsuccessful. Thanks

I still say the Innovited HID are my choice since they are very well priced and a quality kit. You just have to customize the one tab like I show in the other video but its super easy to do 👍

Thanks Nick! Yeah the auto functions acts a bit unpredictable so I just manually run my lights now. I usually turn them on during the day anyways for visibility reasons with these bad drivers. Haven't had anyone pull out on me since 😎

I did the same thing as you for head light and fog lights. Works great thanks for the videos! Question have you had any issues with the LED fogs flickering. I used same bulbs and decoder and my driver side flickers as I’m driving every once in a while?

Hey Alex thanks for the support on the channel! It might not be flickering but the bulb actually bouncing around in the housing. I've had both issues but try to identify which one it is cause both will cause a flicker on the road. Swap over the original bulb gaskets from your stock bulbs too cause it will help tighten up the bulbs in the socket too which will cause a flicker.

BoostedMotorsports I’ve gotten it down the the HID driver side and I zip stripped it more and moved some wiring. Think it was loose connection. Will see next week when I drive it.

Hey bn a big fan with the info regarding ram trucks and mod for economical pricy... I hv 2014 big horn ivy retaken the recommendation for led fog lights but I was wondering If you could try the hikaris h11 plus 9005 for high and low beams...give me some insight or give a video I have reflector headlight....I would really appreciate your insight

If you have the reflector headlights you can get some good light with LEDs but if you have the projector low beam I would definitely go with HID for those!
