Thank you for your advice. I spent about three hours, using the white wire as a ground and could not figure out what was going on. I truly appreciate you buddy.
i was looking into buying some similar to these from amazon.. 3 wires.. they claim to do turn signal. brakes and running lights.. how is that going to work.. normaly its 4 wires
The lights have just 2 functions,... A moderate or low light for running lights then a brighter light fir brakes & that brighter brake light gets a broken signal from the car to flash for turn signals. Low light for running, bright light for brakes & turns
@davidyummus6259 but most common trailer wires has green/brown on the starboard side and yellow/brown on the port with the white wire on the light as it's ground
@@chadjohnson5917 Well, if Brown runs down both sides of the Trailer then the Brown Wire would be for Running Lights & the Green & Yellow would be for Brake/Turn Signals being the brighter light :) You now have your answer ;)
@@chadjohnson5917 I still have the trailer with same Lights but the wiring is taped up so I can't see the wires but,... If you have Brown wire running down both sides of the Trailer then they "should" be for Running Lights which is the softer or lower light which means the White wire on the Lights "should" go to the Brown on either side, the Red wire on the Lights "should" go to the Green on passenger side of Trailer or Red to Yellow on Driver side of Trailer. Black on Lights to Ground. Test the wires on your lights with a battery to know exactly which wire does what function,... Mine in the video was: Black to Negative battery then one at a time, touch Red wire to Positive terminal, then White to Positive terminal,... The low light is Running Lights & Turns, the Bright Light is Brakes.
NO ! Why the f*** do u think I made the video ? As I said, these were cheap lights made in China & they dont give a crap about what we do or need in America ! I just rewired the trailer, kept the same lights & reviewed this video to check & it stands correct for MY lights !
