Nice work. Here’s a tip, spray your battery terminals with WD40 or silicone spray every time you open your hood. I’ve been doing it for years and the battery terminals have looked brand new on all my vehicles. Also never hurts to spray other grounds on the fenders or firewall. I live in Michigan and salt sucks!

Anyone looking to put an LED light under the hood, I would suggest this. Go to ebay or a junk yard and purchase an under the hood dome light for a 1988 - 1995 Chevy GMC truck, suburban, or tahoe and replace the bulb with an LED. This is an 18ft retractable dome light with a magnet on the back of the dome so it can attach all over your jeep. Even airing your tires at night this would make it to the rear of a TJ. Then reel it back up like a fishing pole.

Have you considered getting the rough country hood support? I did and I love it on my tj.

Could you have attached two male blades to the LED and connected to the factory harness? That way you leave the factory harness intact.

Hey man love the jeep and your channel. I recall you saying in one of your videos that you painted your Metalcloak fenders yourself. I was curious if you used a spray can bed liner like some of your other videos, and how does it hold up against road debris. Also do you ever have to touch it up? Could you do a video on how to connect led bar? I bought a bumper for my tj that has 4 led lights but don't know how to install. Anyways awesome video.

So I recently bought a TJ and noticed that light on mine. How are you supposed to turn on the factory light? I haven't been able to find an answer online

I see you used the factory original under hood connector for a power source. I have a 2000 Ford F-150 XLT and the under hood factory light would sometimes work and not work. I took it apart and seen the mercury ball but the ball does not move in the up or down position. I took the mercury ball out and the stem in the center does not depress which I don't believe it is suppose too. I don't understand how the switch mechanism works. There is a 8 second You tube video by a guy with a 1995 Mustang Hood Light and he shows the switch working with the cover off by moving the switch in his hand up and down, but I see no moving part in the switch including the mercury ball. On Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums, a F-150 owner had the same issue. He said he tested the wiring connector to the switch and their was no 12V power. The same was true with me. I have no blown fuses and neither did this Forums guy. Instead of buying another factory under hood switch, I installed a 36 LED light with on/off/toggle slide switch, but again I have no power when I connected it. I did test my LED light with a 9 volt battery to make sure it worked and it did light up. Any suggestions? The LED light has three wires, red, black, and yellow. The factory hood light connector has two wires, black and black with green/yellow strip. I have yet to hook up the yellow wire which would be used for the aftermarket hood bumper switch mounted on the fender.
