My bulldog passed away today. Hank "The Prankster" was 12 years, 6 months, and 17 days. This song made me smile as I remembered the funny boy that made me laugh every day for over a dozen years. RIP my lovely Prankster. My heart aches. I'll cherish the memories.
The pic on my avatar thingy is my buddy! We've got a few more years together. I'm glad he's here. He saved my life. I'm alive because of him. It's really awesome Hank chose you!
Mister Chuck wagon you are an amazing anthology of knowledge.. without you we never would have known,,,🍄🍄🍄🤔 my mommy told me it was all about Satan,!! Hulu all the time it was just a puppy LMFAO
Usually go that guitar work and all of that instrumental stuff that went down .. on this song that's not really a song it's an instrumental six string.. virtuoso..yeah when you look into Jimmy Page's eyes while he, is pouring his heart out for Robert plant's blue eyed dog.. if that's all you got out of the song I feel bad for you.. the big picture is Robert plant mentions his dog Jimmy Page is on another planet.. you think Jimmy Page from this song and wrote those guitar licks for Robert plant's dead dog???? you'.… freaking might as well be on Pluto!!!!!! Robert plant blue-eyed dead dog was the last thing in Jimmy Page's mind!!!!
Oh my gods and goddesses this song means so much more to me now 😭😍 I always think of my dear old TinkerBell whenever I listen to this song and now, after all this time, I know why
a greater frontman than Robert Plant i doubt there ever was in the history of popular music... maybe... Jim Morrison? but he was probably insane and anyway short-lived, RIP...
How awesome, I saw them play this in Baton Rouge in the 70’s. Robert came out apologizing for being late and blamed it on the Louisiana country roads… It was a Great show.. Thanks so much for posting this.
My guess is the people who came from France, Spain, Portugal, England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales to settle places like Louisiana probably played folk music much like Zeppelin plays here. It's weird to think of what our ancestors in the year 1700 were doing.
To settle the debate, I think Red Shield is saying that HE plays it in open G as opposed to open F. The tuning on the album is CFCFAC (which if I’m not mistaken is the same tuning as When the Levee Breaks). But Jimmy actually uses open G when playing it live. Cheers 🍻
Bron-Yr-Aur means "golden breast" or "breast of gold" in Welsh, as in a hillside of gold. Its pronunciation is [ˈbrɔn ər ˈaɪr]. The cottage had no electricity or running water, but the change of scenery provided inspiration for many of the songs on the album, including "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp".
These guys, and especially Jimmy are just pure joy. Whenever I'm feeling down I just have to watch them, hear them or simply think of Jimmy and it lifts me up. They bring so much light to my life and millions of others. What a gift
I remember being at this concert in 75 as a teen at 16 years old. It was the 2nd time to see Zeppelin in Dallas. I don't remember the show at all. Only the very first song. The band messed up so bad they actually stopped playing. Robert said "Welcome to our rehearsal" & the crowd gave them a great amount of applause before the show continued. Page just stood there beaming smiling about the whole thing.
There seems to be the Presence of A Life Force, whenever Led Zep performs. Whether Jimmy is playing a double-neck or acoustic or fender or Gibson; whether Bonzo is stomping or hard-drumming; whether Jonesy is playing organ or bass; or whether Plant is grooving standing or sitting on stool. A sort of cosmic energy Elan Vital clearly Presence! I just don't know why I love Led Zeppelin so much!
Very few bands ever had this much talent in four people. Lennon/McCartney were a song writing powerhouse but Zep could just make stuff up together in the middle of a jam.
His musical vocabulary was much more vast than anyone else in RnR. His sense of proportionality, when to be quiet, and when to be loud is unmatched. Asides from Jimmy Page, I also totally LOVED at one time early Clapton (Cream and Blind Faith, and maybe some random solo stuff).
when I was growing up in the 70's....there was Led Zep and then everyone else. Everyone knew someone that had a Jimmy Page/Led Zep poster in their bedroom if they didn't have one themselves. They were the undisputed kings of rock and roll!
Wheres jpj and what kind of guitar is that? Looks like a Martin... Missed this tour.. But was only 11 or 12 so hey... Caught them in '77 at Forum when I was still 13.. First concert ever..LED ZEPPELIN. OH YEAH 😎
Everybody knows that led Zeppelin or the Kings when it comes to the heavy metal blues that started with Black Sabbath.... What more can I say 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
@@bigboss3051 Yeah, the soundboard style/technique, as opposed to actually learning how to play at a level that a sound board should never be needed. Jimmy does not use, nor does he need it because JIMMY IS ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GUITAR HIMSELF.
Little did the members of Led Zeppelin know, but in just shy of three months time one of the most profound events in the history of mankind would unfold. My mother was eating a greasy hotdog with chili, washing it down with root beer when she thought she was stricken with the vapors. But alas, I was making my break from the confines of her hot and muggy womb into a no less hot and humid Southern Appalachian summer day. The nurses all gathered 'round And they gazed in wide wonder At the joy they had found The head nurse spoke up Said, "Leave this one alone" She could tell right away That I was bad to the bone.
I guess as he had used the guitar for the preceeding two tracks and it was in his hands that he decided it would be as quick to do it himself (all three acoustic tracks sequenced together on this tour are in different tunings!). Nowadays most musicians would have spare guitars brought out I guess !!
I wonder where this was? Plant says - sounds like Dallas. I was there in Dallas for their 1975 tour but maybe this was after Dallas. I LOVED them back then but didn’t appreciate them like I do now.
@Dana Patton Dana, My comment was strictly sarcastic. I am a big fan and have been following them for 45 years. JPJ always gets left out of videos, interviews etc while being just as important as the other members.
Was that a dig at Neil ?? Or just sayin we are all just peeps at the end of the day..who buy ranches like Neil and castle like Robert or Blobi as he's also known...I fink 🤸
Page doesn't even have a guitar tech to drop-tune his acoustic to C-A-C-G-C-E.... the rest of the band and the audience are forced to wait. Also the sound engineer is not doing any of them any justice. Amazing how unprofessional by todays standards looking back
