Hello! I've seen a few of your music reaction videos and like that you hear new stuff for the first time. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of a band called Incubus, but they have so many good songs and a general vibe that I think you would like alot. I think their best album was called Morning View. I can't pick a bad song on the entire album. My picks for a video reaction would be Wish you were here, Warning, Phase, or Aqueous Transmission. Enjoy!

"They don't write lyrics like this anymore" No, they don't, not in mainstream music. Why? Because a group of people sit in a room and look over what's been popular and what would appeal to as many people as possible then manufacture that music. They don't make music, they manufacture it. There's no soul in music anymore. I honestly can't think of much outside of independent artists that I listen to that was created in the last 10+ years. This song is now 50 years old and still beloved by millions of fans around the world. There are countless songs from the 50’s and 60’s and really through I’d say the 90’s that have stood the test of time and will continue to do so. I’ve asked numerous of my friends to name a song that came out after around the year 2000 that will be remembered by say 2030 and none of us could come up with one. There’s some good music out there today that’s fun to listen to, but nothing even remotely iconic has come out in well over 20 years.

I always think that the lady most likely would be Kim Kardashian, or any Kardashian. BTW, The Smiths "How Soon Is Now"! I use to rock to this song at work. In the 80's, as a teen, I had a job vacuuming the luggage pick-up area in McCarren Airport in Las Vegas. Early mornings when the large open space was void of people, I would have the boom box blaring out New Wave music, turning it up to 10 when this 1984 classic came on. It would echo off the walls in beat with the echoing guitar in the song.

Hi Ms. Empress, please do not worry too much on the lyrics, if U were to ask one of the band members on Monday what it means and ask him again on Friday, U will get a different answer.. At the beginning of the Live version, Mr. Robert Plant states "This is a Song of Hope".. Ever 10 years they have list the best Rock Songs of all time; Stairway To Heaven is always in the top 5, usually higher, like # 1.. One must review the 1973 Madison Square Garden Live version of "Stairway To Heaven".. More than just watching a video, it is an experience!! I will make a bet with U, I say U will be jealous of Mr. Robert Plants hair..☺ I saw U following the beat of the drums when they came in, if U like drums U should check out "Moby Dick" from the same Concert.. They recorded this show, put it on DVD, titled "The Song Remains The Same".. ♠W.G.

Now listen to Heart covering it live as a tribute, with Led Zep in the audience and John Bonhams son on the drums

Hi glad you are back. Missed you. Yes, this song is a mystery for most people. There are lots of different interpretations of the lyrics as you have seen. I admire it for it's musicianship and the vocals of Robert Plant. There are a few stories from the group about what the song means, take from them what you will. Even if it actually has any meaning. Kashmir is an epic.

When you have the unmistaken vocals of Robert Plant combined with arguably the best guitarist ever, Jimmy Page, and arguably the best drummer ever, John Bonham and mister versatility John Paul Jones you have a recipe for greatness. They have been honored by presidents, prime ministers, their peers, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the list goes on and on. The many various awards and accolades they have received are a testament to their amazing talents and skills. It is not surprising that many consider them the greatest Rock "N" Roll band of all time. One thing is for certain that the legacy of Led Zepplin will be cemented in music history for all time, and rightfully so.

This was released 3 years after I returned from Vietnam and I have listed to this for over 50 years. I'm thrilled to see young people discover the music of their grandparents. If this were released today, it would still be a monster hit. We had the BEST music, the best cars, and I'm so glad I grew up when I did. After the birth control pill and before AIDS. We were the kings and queens of our world. Eat your hearts out.

Check out Heart's cover of this. It's from The Kennedy Center Honors program. It was to honor the groups contributions to music. The 3 remaining members of Led Zeppelin was there and gave Heart the only standing ovation of the night. The drummer who played with Heart was Jason Bonham John Bonham son. The bowler hats were to honor John Bonham. Robert Planr eays it's the greatest cover he ever heard.

Deserving the title of the best rock and roll song ever! From the amazing lyrics to the slow build up to an incredible climax to the realization of it fitting into the whole Led Zeppelin catalog. Tons of great songs from them from the first album to their last. From Good Times Bad Times, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Your Time Is Gonna Come, Whole Lotta Love, Since I've Been Loving You, Immigrant Song, Black Dog, Rock & Roll, Battle Of Evermore, When The Levee Breaks, Kashmir, No Quarter, and many more. It will take a while to enjoy their whole catalog of great songs.

Robert Plant would recall writing the lyrics as if they'd arrived in his head from elsewhere: '.... then I looked at what I'd written and nearly jumped out of the chair!' - it doesn't have to be totally clear either, because you can project onto them what you want. It is an irony, however, that this song about seeking success and fortune should start out as a kind of lullaby and that it was written and performed by what was rapidly becoming the most successful rock band on the planet.

This song came out when I was just a little kid. People always requested it on the radio, for years. When I was small, naturally, I didn't know what it meant. But as you say, it means different things to different people. What I eventually got out of it was that materialistic people, because of their wealth, think they can buy their way into anything. But you can never buy your way into heaven. Great reaction!
