Im gonna point this out again for all the small minded people.. 1. Just because I am British does not mean I've heard Led Zeppelin. 2. Just because someones famous doesn't mean everyone on earth has heard of them.. There will be plenty of other British people that haven't heard of them also.. 3. I was born in 2000.. 4. I used to listen to mainstream music hence why this channel came along... For everyone that's not offended by me not hearing Led Zeppelin thank you.. LOL
Truer words have never been spoken, as they say. This video earned a sub from me and I look forward to checking out more of your reactions and content.
Welcome to the wacky world of the Internet - where anonymity brings out the worst of people! Not so long ago I was in a quiz, we were asked which decade Maria Carey was born, I'd heard the name but couldn't place it. I'd been reading about early 19th Century prison reformers and thought perhaps she was one of those. I guessed the 1770's and everyone laughed........quite a lot! 😂 - at least yo' givin' it a go! 👍
I'm not offended in the slightest! I'm only happy you've decided to start digging into these excellent old tunes! I am American myself, and I will turn 50 (FIFTY!) this year. Songs like Stairway To Heaven were the soundtrack of many of our lives, and I think people unconsciously assume that EVERYONE hears the soundtrack. Anyway, I really enjoyed this video (and your Pink Floyd 'Time' one)--thanks for sharing your reactions with us. It's good fun! You Brits have given the world some really exceptional rock music, might I also suggest you give a listen to 'July Morning' by Uriah Heep? The band name references Dickens so you're almost required to check 'em out. Cheers!
Don't worry what others say young'un you are the same age as my son and he was lucky, well he reckons not, as I brought both my 2 up on rock etc. Music is a journey through life and try listening to more Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and all the great British bands of that era. I would rather you at least listen and give a view than not bother. Ps you are from my neck of the woods by the sound of it and there are lots of local pubs that support local bands that play covers, worth going to listen to some of them if you get the chance. I was lucky to have been born in the mid 60s and have older brothers who listened to some great stuff. Enjoy what you like its all relative and very personal to you.
@briank05 before you found out that what they did is called "cover" today, but they didn't always name the artist on their albums which resulted in some lawsuits, and some songs that are claimed stolen are actually traditional folk songs that were covered 20 30 times by others as well. Also they made the songs by lightyears better than they were by their original artists... I mean, listen to Taurus by Spirit, and after that to Stairway to Heaven. It's a completely different song, the intro isn't even that similar. But it sounds much better by Led Zeppelin, actually it's the greatest song in the world.
@briank05 stop criticizing great musical geniuses without actually having nothing to contribute to music!!! Good artists copy, great ones steal....Pablo Picasso
Zeppelin is THE best band there ever was! You should see their live performances...unbelievable! I'm 60 years old and they are still my all time favorite band. Research them...they literally have no bad songs!
@briank05 if all they did was plagiarize the work of others the other band would be just as well known many bands today cover music that is not their own some even create something better then the original that requires talent the only difference between artists of today and artists of the past is now days you have to give credit to the source if you are not the originator of the creation that being said all zeplin did was take the chord progression from another groups song and write their own song to it which is nothing more then taking 1 small riff of a song then modifying it to become something different yet similar in sound and built their own song around which is exactly the same thing spirit did with taurus that particular chord progression has been used for at least 100 years so how about you stop using such a lame excuse to run through every zeppelin comment section you can find to shout this nonsense to anyone you can
Often acclaimed as the best song ever in rock n Roll history. It contains everything that embodies progressive rock. The Yardbirds included 3 of the world's top guitarist in their early years. Different paths left the band with a new singer and drummer and shortly after changed the name to Led Zeppelin. In the 60's the music culture was close knit and most were friends or at least acquaintances. Pink Floyd also evolved in the same era in the UK. Yes Led Zeppelin is 1 of the most copyright protected bands out there. 👍 Good luck not getting blocked.
In the early 90's it won the title 'Greatest song in the world' after a bunch of radio stations around the world let their listeners vote. That's what later inspired Tenacious D to write 'Tribute', which is really a song about how they couldn't quite remember how to play Stairway to heaven. :)
@@InsaneBlondie you have to do their live stuff...a sheer joy to watch and hear...great looking British guys too!! Jimmy Page is the best guitarist ever!
I love the fact that a young lady of your age and your bf are listening to and open to some of the greatest musicians to ever grace the planet of rock, keep up the good work!
@@InsaneBlondie your most welcome luvvy, I hope your musical journey teaches you as much as it has me, it's funny what your ears actually like when you cast aside stereotypes. Like what you like and ignore the haters.much ❤️
I don't know what the fuck age you are, but that girl is not millennial. But if you used it as a derogative, then you can go fuck yourself, fucking piece of shit.
@@StonefieldJim4 it does if people keep insulting my entire generation. Now there is the other trend that I hate, calling boomer. My parents are boomers, and they are great.
We are slowly winning. These reaction channels with the young ones exploring are introducing the next generation and they love it. You can see it in some of the new underground and up and coming artists...We are about to have the back swing and its going to be glorious. The best thing we can do is find a channel like this and feed them song titles and bands.
there is some good rap too like lyrical ones they're the best you can't just generalise modern sheet rhip hop and old school rap isn't the same and it' also called an opinion
@@allrise9923 Touché. It’s the thrill that leads me to get a bit overexcited. STH is far from my fave LZ song too. That would - probably - be Kashmir. ✌️
The live version is amazing too. Since i've been lovin' you is another really good song, and the live version at Madison Square Garden Is just perfect.
@@porflepopnecker4376 kinda sometimes yeh but they were simply better than anybody else live, start with stairway from tsrts annd i garauntee it will blow her away. Its a MASSIVE rabitt hole
Better late than never ! Led is from the sixties, i began listening to them in the 80's. A girl in 2020 listening to this is almost like me listening to Vivaldi !
Anyone experiencing something new and enjoying it is wonderful to see! Everything else is irrelevant!. Carry on experiencing, and ignore the rest. Stay safe
1990 Merica kid here. This is the first song I've listened to before i was hooked in 2003. Love every reaction I watch. Live is awesome!! Alot of improvised solos!! Enjoy every song!!!!
Led Zeppelin is my favorite rock group of all time, they embody strength, power, and beautiful. If you want to hear all the elements of sound in a Led Zeppelin song you really need to have headphones. I hope you keep exploring Led Zeppelin music.
The live recording in concert Madison Square Garden 1974 for the movie The Song Remains The Same, is great quality, even today. Guitar out takes by Page makes it about 12 min long, and FAR better than original recording. One of the greatest rock guitarists of all time, and the late John Bonham is regarded in many percussionists circles to be the greatest rock drummer ever. You are adorable by the way...love your accent and your honest open reactions! Keep it up!! :)
You tell them girl! I’m older and from Got damn mother fucking TEXAS! I grew up with this music and ZEPPELIN is my favorite band. Hey it’s better late than never. You’re getting to hear them now and THAT is what counts. So screw any criticism and just explore the beautiful and cool world that is rock and roll! You have my blessing. And I know a thing or two about this stuff.peace, Phil
I think it’s kinda cool that your British and haven’t heard of this till now. Your so young. I’m 67 and i remember hearing this for the first time when it first came out. It blew everybody away. So it’s nice seeing you hearing it for the first time. Keep listening to them and they will take you on a ride you won’t forget! Rock forever young lady!👍😊👌
Anderson C. Oliveira on earth yes! Because in the whole galaxy it ‘S called , repeat after me : B E A T ok so far ? Let’s carry on L E S. You are forgiven this time, but next time they will be NO QUARTER ! 🤔🧐👀👀👀🤓
First of all this is not a dispute, I love Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd and hundreds of other great bands, but my favorite band is LED ZEPPELIN, but it's just a matter of taste, God bless you.
I.B., you have just scratched the surface with Zeppelin. They are an INCREDIBLE, life-affecting band. Look into more and enjoy the glorious journey! God bless.
I dare you to find a single human who's listened to Stairway and not been whisked away by it's spell...I think the greatest thing about the song is it grows more powerful everytime you hear it, and familiarize yourself with it. Loved your reaction!
Do not worry about what people say....i am 58 and was younger then you when Zeppelin were just getting famous, it took me 35 years to realise and appreciate what a great band they were and wish i had listened to them more as a teenager and maybe gone to see them live
Almost married an Irish lass from Dublind Ireland many years ago. My dad's family is from Ireland. Love the accent. Love Zep. My favorite all time band. They're your neighbors. You should get to know them. 😄
My 17 year old son walked in one day when I was listening to some Zeppelin and asked who it was. I looked at him and said "Once you open that door, you can't close it again."
Always an epic listen. As a guitarist I just go into another dimension over the orchestration Jimmy created with the 12 string. Then the solo, what can you say, just melodic in quite emotional ways that cannot be duplicated. Does anybody else get how emotional this solo is?
To this day, Stairway To Heaven is *still* one of the most covered songs in history, and probably one of the greatest rock ballads of all time. I actually went out and bought LZ IV when it went on sale in 1971, mainly because of Black Dog, Rock & Roll, and Battle of the Evermore. At the time Stairway to Heaven was just a nice diversion to me (and overplayed to hell on the radio). Later on, when Led Zep gave their blessings to Heart to do covers of their music, Nancy and Anne Wilson came out with an acoustic version of Battle of the Evermore that was off the charts! There's still several versions of it floating around RU-vid, and most definitely worth the watch!😍 Great reaction Georgia!😉 🤘😎🤘
This was the music I listened to in High School and College. Led Zeppelin is a fantastic band....... I love them! Brings back so many memories. Thank you Georgia........... :-)
It's absolutely amazing now I'm addicted to that song😣😂 I bet you had an amazing childhood with that band! It's crazy how songs bring back so much! Love you lots Ann💜💜💜💜
@@InsaneBlondie Yes it was an amazing time of music when I was growing up. The memories is one of the reasons that makes music so great........... Love you....... :-)
OMG I love you !!! it’s crazy satisfying seeing people reacting to stairway to heaven for the first time. If you really enjoyed it you should check out Stairway to heaven covered by Heart. They did such a great job😊
I play Guitar and work in Music. Love seeing your reactions to my generations Music. Saw Led Zeppelin many times front row, my fav band. also Pink Floyd...
Its amazing to see what I've known since around 1970, listening to my little transistor AM radio when I was 9. Whole Lotta Love used to scare me and when this song came out, I couldn't believe how beautiful this song was. I'm glad you liked it, its been voted the number 1 classic rock song of all time in man th polls and contests.
I sat in front of Lois B's house in my HemiCuda and sang 'Whole Lotta Love' and 'House of the Rising Sun' with her over and over. Good memories. BTW - 'Barracuda'. by Heart was later my car's theme song.
OK then. I have grandkids your age IB. It makes me smile whenever one of them gets the chance to hear this Zep anthem for the first time. I'm smiling now for you.
I am old enough to remember hearing this when it came out on the radio in the early '70s. I was in junior high school and had been a fan of theirs since Led Zeppelin I. They just got better with each album. My only regret is I never got to see them live. They played Madison Square Garden a number of times in the mid to late '70s and back then tickets were relatively cheap around $10 to $12. Another song you should react to is "Kashmir" from the "Physical Graffiti" album, circa 1977.
Omg id love to be back in that era you're so lucky!!😭 The list is vvv long but I'm definitely gonna be seeing more of led zeppelin it's just to beautiful not to😁
I was 7 when this song came out but was just a couple of years before I started listening to the radio regularly. I didn’t hear this song until I was 12 years old and remember thinking, why is not everyone talking about this song? But back in those days, when a song was 5 years old it was an old song. There were no oldies or classic rock stations. No FM stations in small towns like where I grew up. It’s fun watching people listen to classic songs for the first time. Cheers!
@@TylerLL2112 The Levee Breaks is definitely the next song. Kashmir is almost as laid back as Stairway. Now, if you want an example of a bizarre guitar technique, Khashmir is the tune.
All of My Love should also be listened to, such a gorgeous song and written about Robert's son Karac who died suddenly when he was on tour with the band.
If you can find it, I'd recommend listening to Heart doing it live. They sang it as a tribute to Led Zeppelin , who were watching them, Ann Wilson has the best female voices in rock imo
You should react to Led Zeppelin’s song “Kashmir”. I’d also like to see you react to Chris Stapleton’s song “Broken Halos”. If you like country or want to give it a chance you might like it.
Their Madison Square Garden concert from the early 70s will blow you away. All the songs on it are jaw droppingly good. It captures Jimmy Page at the peak of his creative powers.
The slow begining section played in the church for the funeral for a girl I knew , very emotional time. This was back in the late 1970s .. she died in a car accident. Unfortunately one of the many funerals I attended of friends during my school years.
@@michaelwhitton8226 I was at that show in 1973 and she does not know much about LZ and the live version that I love can be too much for a newby....and also the solo in the studio version is awesome as well!
@@InsaneBlondie Its a very intense song about love lost....and I actually know the guitarist Jimmy Page and his girlfriend is a dear friend of mine...that is me and Jimmy on my profile pic!
Maybe you don’t know it yet, but this song has change your perception of life. In five minutes you’ll think you have forgotten it, but it stays somewhere in your brain. The next times that you accidentally listen to it, you will understand more and more about its meaning. That’s the point of no return. Welcome to life.
Led Zeppelin, one of the greatest British exports. Try doing In My Time Of Dying live at Earls Court, 1975. Also, The Song Remains The Same and The Rain Song.
Thanks for sharing. I consider myself lucky to live in ‘Led Zeppelin’ country to the West of Birmingham where Robert Plant was from and John Bonham lived with his family. I regularly walk past Robert’s old house in Halesowen and recently I took my son to see Bonzo’s final resting place not far away, we wrote a little message in the church book for him, always remembering the most legendary rock drummer ever. It’s great that you are showing an interest over 50 years after this great music was thrust upon us. Long live Led Zeppelin!
Nice seeing someone hear this for the first time. The first time I heard it was in the early 1970's Have loved it ever since. Got to hear it live once.
