Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

They didn’t require huge lavish productions, they got out there and played raw beautiful music. Led Zeppelin is the best band ever.

I was 19 then. I played drums is a rock band and virtually worshiped Led Zeppelin. Still do and I'm turning 70 in a few days and I am getting closer to the Stairway. This was a magic time.

I'm 68 years old. I saw Led Zeppelin twice at Madison Square Garden. They were excellent live. They are by far my favorite rock band of all time.

Most of the time, the live versions are better than the studio version. That is saying a lot of the incredible skills of these musicians : pure genius at the top. For our pleasure, forever!
