Not at all, Anderson showed the Chief's true colours. You're on the otherside of the divide and Anderson wiped the floor with him. The Met is too scared to do anything to these protesters, and if you know anything you would know the law already exists to deal with this disruption, the forthcoming law is to help underpin existing laws. It is a pity we have suffer the politicaaly blind.
I’m an ex Met officer. Nobody conducts themselves in a homophobic, misogynistic or racist manner when a higher level officer is in their midst. This should be screaming obvious to anyone with half a brain. It’s no different to children acting up, and then adjusting their behavior when adults or parents then enter the room. It’s literally being aware of accountability being present.
I'm not even sure that 30p has a quarter of a brain let alone half of one, but I'm afraid that is par for the course with the current government that seems filled with idiots, crooks and those who kindly could be called incompetant
But as annoying as Lee Anderson is, he asked about his whole time as a police officer. A guy who joined the force in the 80s can't remember witnessing one incident of racism, misogyny or homophobia? Come on, we know thats a load of nonsense. The Police Chief could easily have just said 'yes but I can't recall any specific incident'. I'm with Lee on this singular point, the rest the Met Chief handled himself very well.
@@hosephanerothe1440 I was talking to someone from Mansfield in QMC a few weeks ago and they said "Ashfield is where the council send people when they're too rough for Mansfield and it takes a bloody lot to be too rough for Mansfield." 😂

I live in Ashfield, but I didn't vote for Anderson. On behalf of my fellow constituents, I am so very, very sorry that you have to put up with this vacuous, empty headed, loud-mouthed excuse for an MP.
My thoughts exactly, sexism, racism, corruption taking place day and daily in government and that excuse for a politician has the audacity to launch an attack like that. The Commissioner should have wiped the floor with him but was gracious enough not too.
Lee Anderson. I have to use my favourite saying. "It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're an idiot, than to open it, and remove all doubt"
@@thefiestaguy8831- it was Mark Twain. Pity Lee Anderson didn’t follow that advice this week. I take that back, it’s not a pity, glad he lost his job - couldn’t happen to a nicer person.

Imagine being scrutinized by Lee Anderson who pretended to doorstep a person to ask how he was doing as an MP but got caught asking a friend to do it and lie for him.
Lee Anderson is 4 years older than me and brought up a couple of miles away from S Normanton. My dad was also a coal miner. I am so glad I did not turn out like him as a despicable and hateful person (not my dad, just Lee), though know many who are. He makes Ashfield a joke to Southerners.
Exactly. How many times did he say “to be honest “ !!! as if we don’t believe a word he says. How did the Tory party select this throw back to stand, in their name, for parliament.
@@californiadreamin8423 He's a useful idiot to the Tories, like Braverman. They think they are part of the establishment but the establishment are laughing behind their backs at them.

Very well dealt with by the Chief, trying to protect civil liberties. I am shocked by the immature, ignorant and frankly rude attitudes adopted by those questioning him. Disgraceful.

It says a lot about our sound bite society that someone with the brain of a drunk ferret gets to hold someone who has risen to the top of his profession over a 40 year career to account. Lee Anderson is playing to his base, with no actual interest in the aims of the committee on which he serves, but that's how today's politics works.
Ime surprised Anderson didn't just say f.o. like he has in the past ..how can he be allowed to call anybody dishonest ..Anderson is what is wrong with this country ...

A Tory MP should be ashamed of the cuts that cost the police their most experienced officers and replaced them with youngsters who done a couple of weeks of training, they closed hundreds of police stations and got rid of tens of thousands of support workers. The police officer is a dirty freemason. He is not working for the people. He knows full well there are laws for obstruction but the agenda is to allow the disruption
This question should be asked of Lee Anderson - how often has he behaved inappropriately in past events? I am pretty sure he would then argue very similarly to the commissioner! Ridiculous waste of time with his line of questioning designed solely to get him noticed and 'air time'
we put these people like lee anderson in power and they cannot evenstring a cohesive argument together without insults, disagreeing isnt wrong but insulting is
It is indeed staggering. Sadly, the chair person also came across as being weak. He should have been hammered on the spot for that embarrassing personal attack, regardless of which parties the committee members are from.
Ah, yes. The Tories preside over the police, but then blame the police for not enforcing standards and procedures which the Tories failed to implement.
@JammyONE It certainly doesn't get a free pass. But the topic is the Tories mismanagement. When Labour is upbraided, I'll surely be as quick to criticize.

The whole point of protest is to disrupt, and to show the powerful that the people have had enough. The problem is those in power (Tories) want to hinder your right to protest because it gets in the way of their agenda. The only reason we have democracies and workers rights to begin with is because of protestors tearing down the older systems when the powerful pushed working people into horrible living conditions with poor pay.
Unfortunately it seems a fair few MPs of other parties, including Labour, are equally happy to shore up the untouchability of power. Presumably because they realise they are already benefitting from power themselves, even in opposition, and will be happy to benefit even more if they get into government in a future election.
