notice that not just Wei Nan's smashes were strong and steep, but also the accuracy! if not on the line, they were so close to the line. This was when Wei Nan at his peak.
Wei Nan is not arrogant, hes purposefully walking slow and wasting time so that he could regain energy between rallies. This is needed for the tactics hes playing here. He has a very good smash, in fact his smash is extremely fast and deep. LCW has no chance of returning it. But other than that, hes kind of average at other shots. So his tactic is to smash at every single opportunity comes to him. This is very energy consuming, and he knows. You could actually see he makes alot of mistakes when its not smashing, and hes afraid to have long rallies too.
swish nz at 25:54 in this video. I think it’s quite interesting he used his hand to support his body weight, so that legs can be in the right position for next action
Wei Nan's overhead shot preparation caught my attention... He put his racquet up high... This is important for more accuracy and a more precise contact point on the shuttle... If you miss lots of overhead shots... Put your racquet up high while you prepare for the shot and it will help you greatly... That's what my coach said...
just 6 min into the vid and i can confirm Nan is afraid of long rallies and LCW's smash, so he smashes at every lifts, plus LCW seems off with his lifts in this match, landing a bit short
I'm a Chong Wei fan. But Wei Nan has played very well in this game. at least better than Chong Wei. For the slow and delayed service of Wei Nan, there are judges and they don't have much complain about that. Wei Nan's playing style, attitude is different. Besides that could be Wei Nan's strategy also and that has worked out well against Chong Wei.
@@shawn3266 In pro and club badminton, everyone smashes so much. Therefore, a punch clear is always a surprise, and drop shots too (Watanabe knows this).
I really really enjoy your contents! I am a korean RU-vidR BEGGINNER. I ask permission for you to let me edit it and re-upload. Of course, there will be reference! If you have any interest in my contens, I gladly share them! THX If you have trouble using the video, I'll delete it right away.😭😊
WeiNan seems actually very fast in speed and powerful smash. This match just happened he's on his 120% (I hope he's not high) and CW was on 80%. Personally I don't think it's an attitude problem - a lot of players looks overly "casual" on court just because in badminton you have to relax your muscle first in order to generate power. If you play you know what i'm talking about. In terms of mind game, LD has much worse attitude than WeiNan
Absolutely not holding back, you can see LCW playing casually if he was holding back, but he wasn't in this match. LCW lost this match as Wei Nan has a perfect smash and unfortunately that LCW were not in his greatest form.
Lin dan and Lee Chong Wei cannot played their full potential in these Denmark open...It looks like the hall capacity is so small and the shuttle is so fast and tall guys with big power smash have lot of advantage
