Mr Lee Kuan Yew, as he was sworn in as Prime Minister for the eighth time in 1988, declared it to be his last even as he described the role he would play in the two years before handing over the reins to Mr Goh Chok Tong. He is a good statesman and a brilliant architect with the first guard and the pioneers of Singapore. We can learn from him no matter whichever parties one is from. That was why he did he cautioned his party once that people will want to try another party because the grass is green over the other side. I agree with him.

How many HDB flats can be built if 31 Ridout Rd were given to the HDB? The HDB has many housing projects across the island, you go and check it out lah. Please use something to secure your lower jaw before you find the answer. Ha ha ha!

Never think that they will surely win and vote for others, against who you actually want to govern. This leads to freak results from happening. Let's make no mistake, none in the current opposition side has the mettle, the competence, the integrity and accountability to govern.

If he was alive to see how broken his family is, he would be most disheartened ! ! Some of these were the results of his past actions. Getting rid of the jury based system was incredibly short-sighted. In the end his youngest son and his wife have gone into exile and his grandson feel safer in US than in Singapore. What does this tell you ?

I tried to be very fair in my assessment of LKY. Maybe we could understand the draconian measures he had to undertake in the years after independence. Later on, he should have reintroduced back the jury based system and gave the media more freedom. But he failed to do this. Now his youngest and family have exiled themselves overseas and his grandson felt safer in US than in Singapore. This is his legacy.
