@@zerochaotics1135yep, they have found nordic runes and hieroglyphs with message that are basicaly 'i was here' or '____ is a dick'. No matter how much we advance, shitposting is in our blood.
If the Ancient Romans have taught us anything is that the art of shitposting, dick jokes, and calling other people gay, has always been around, and will continue long after we are gone.
@@Zalioscraft have you heard of the “this is high” wall? If not a cave with some ancient language was found and of the prints was very high up, it said “This is very high”
@@Koskani It's amazing!! There are polaroids about him, and I think in one of the DLC 's there is a verrry interesting infographic in the science building :D
@@dontspikemydrink9382 It can be a male or gender-neutral term. Would you rather the commenter called them a person? Even still it’s not that big of a deal.
@@dontspikemydrink9382 Guy. Dude their universal terms. It doesn't g9vr af what gender you are nor should thst matter when you got a disease and a bunch of walking diseased corpses trying to murder you.
@@vizardonator8571 more like universal rather than Gender neutral since there's only 2 rest or something I'd expect tumblir, Twitter and certain, certain parts of 4chan would make. Now don't take what i said above 100%, truthful it's simply my personal belief but don't shove it down my throat other wise 12 gauge slugs are going though the membrane after all it's the damn apocalypse.
Anytime I do something really well, or I'm just feeling particularly capable, there's a small chance I still mumble 'no zombie is safe from Chicago Ted' under my breath.
@CoffeeBean668 Yup, that exact poem. Though I used to hear it different where it ended up, "Tried to shit. Only farted. Later laying in my bed, tried to fart, shat instead. In fact that one graffiti referenced in this video where they argued about whether humanity deserves this was one of the ones that was in the same location as the poem which was right above it.
There's one graffiti of a woman posting poetry to cope with the loss of her husband who sacrificed himself to save others, and everyone puts her on blast for being a dork. My personal favorite response to it was "Lady, I got attacked by zombies and reading this was the worst thing that's happened to me today."
Actually almost cute. It's like these people don't speak to each other anymore, they just survive as long as they can in absolute terror, but graffiti is a means by which they can still be a part of a community in some small way
the fact that this is EXACTLY what things would look like if this were to happen- except for the fact there is zero chance any tumblers make it that far.
@@EpicQibliFan have you played L4D2? these bastards RUN. Some turn into a jocky (AKA annoying hyper speedy gremlin), Some turn into smokers (AKA long tongue asshole), and some turn into tanks (bodybuilders that can rip concrete from the ground and hurl it) Trust me, walking isnt gonna cut it.
I feel like we forget that a lot of tumblers are literally the most normally mature people of the internet who won’t try to actually kill each other when the apocalypse happens. And the fact that a lot of tumblers are survivalists, many of them go on hikes everyday, multiple of them love making lists of edible plants. If the internet still exists in the apocalypse, tumbler might be the only social media with accurate information, because even if someone says something wrong you know someone’s coming out of the woodworks to correct them.
Oh my gosh, yes! The graffiti is one of the best parts about the game! I don't remember exactly what it says, but there's a really good one with a poem and some hilarious responses.
I've only ever played this game with my friend so we don't stop to smell the roses but when playing the other two games I tried to look around it all the stuff portal has lots of graffiti to look at I don't remember half life having graffiti but it has other stuff you can find.
I remember B4B tried replicating that awesomeness, but could never live up to the legacy that is LFD graffiti 😉 (grant though, I like B4B combat a lot more, but even I admit where it fumbled the ball)
Fun Fact: there is historical precedent that things like this have happened before the time of the internet. I really loved the "god I miss the internet" piece
I think stuff like this would be pretty comforting in a way. People are still people. They haven’t stopped having a sense of humor. It gives a bit of normality to an otherwise awful situation.
No, but graffiti would be a super useful way to communicate during an apocalyptic. Figure out something useful, write it on the wall, now more people know.
I'd like to think Chicago Ted was the guy from the gun store in the dead center campaign he had enough ammunition to deal with hordes of infected, but whether or not he had enough food is a whole different question I can picture him doing something similar to the main cast just going round killing horde upon horde of infected eventually getting the title (most likely while in Chicago)
Poor “I hate zombies” guy. He was just venting and they went and attacked him and called him a moron 😞 Although I suppose he has bigger problems to worry about than what other random survivors think of him
man this reminds me of all the random carvings people did on roman walls everywhere, like Gaius and Aulus, two bros who cemented their bromance for eternity on the walls of Pompeii, just a couple of lads who were wandering around, shooting the breeze and goofing off, just like we do nowadays. It's comforting in a sort of cosmic sense that shenanigans seems to be an inheret part of being human
Similar thing happened at my high school. In 2017 (oh christ 6 years ago), someone wrote on a bathroom hand dryer that was covered in the white paint used to paint the walls. A few people wrote on it and replied to one another, and this went on for about a week before it was removed by staff ("graffiti"). It was like a little message board!
One of the oldest pieces of graffiti ever found was something like "I was here" followed by the linguistic equivalent of "eat shit" Some things never change
These added so much character to the world tbh. I especially loved the ones that referenced other zombie media, the Dead Rising reference being one of my personal favorites.
My favorite graffiti from L4D2 is in the concert, these people were writing about the Midnight Riders (a band in this game) escaping in a helicopter, a few people were talking about them being cowards and one person randomly wrote “They haven’t made a good album since ‘Born Yesterday’”
I mean to be fair we came up with reality tv , boy bands , and decaffeinated coffee....We make old Lucy Goosey down in the big boiler room look tame in comparison.
@@addison_v_ertisement1678it was making fun of every piece of media that came out before it that tried to sound smart by saying that, not the game you don't like
In the chapter *The Passing* , there’s a room where you can find a lot of graffiti. They all reference a piece of zombie media and it’s fun to read and figure out where their from.
Valve games are so incredibly crafted in every respect, often head and shoulders above games that came out over a decade later. From gameplay to details like this they give the whole package.
My favorite one is the one where it's a whole heartfelt big poetic letter from someone who is presumably about to die to their loved one, and then someone just writes "Maybe try hitting the zombies with your thesaurus"
@@sureindubitably3771 i mean, some of them are still mostly human. just put a muzzle on them and your good to go. unless it’s a “the last of us” zombie. cause well, spores and all that.
The writing is so good in those everynow and then when campaigns start getting REALLY INTENSE I like to laugh at peoples conversations on the walls just to get a breather
The most unrealistic part of left 4 dead is the fact that every wall is basically an internet post and nobody is spamming the same meme or quote or image again and again
"Just killed my 1000th zombie!" "Kill 1000 more then well talk" "We'll*" "It's the zombie apocalypse who needs grammar?" "1001st zombie killed, get nae-naed on" "Guys help the pen is running out of ink"
I started making pavlovas a few years back when I was looking up gluten free desserts baking for groups, they've definitely become a favorite, so simple and I get to arrange fruit on top
@@sureindubitably3771In The Passing, the pool room in the club before the tour is full of references. There’s Crazy Dave, Frank West from Dead Rising, and a bunch of others.
The developers partook in the oldest human pastime, drawing provocative symbols in public places. I guarantee you, if a zombie apocalypse hit Ancient Rome, all those ancient Roman graffiti writers who said stuff like “I pooped here!” Would instead be saying this stuff, just in Latin.
Sludge Blast is 100% the most underrated overclock in the game. Sludge pump is already often underused compared to cryo or flamethrower, and adding an alternate firing mode with altered velocity often throws people off (just like with AG mixture). It still solidly allows single shots to deal with grunts while absolutely shredding dreadnoughts and oppressors. Good luck to everyone on the giveaway!
The graffiti on the walls of Roman cities proves that shitposting has always been a part of us. We shitposted before the internet; we will shitpost after it.
