Yes, my pronunciation was off in the video. I was trying to make out towns and cities that are not native to me. I'm sorry if I mispronounced them, but no need to attack me. It's an honest mistake, I did not do it to offend anyone. While most of these comments are kind in telling me I need to work on the pronunciation, I've gotten a lot of mean-spirited ones and I've gotten one threat. Please do not threaten me. I don't want to disable comments, but if this continues I will not have any other choice. Thank you for understanding.

They should've opened Sega World in the U.S. because it would've been mad popular in there. Ik Sega is also popular in the U.K., but I can't say that it's really all that popular in China and Japan.

Holy shit! I live near brighton and looked up its sega world. I went there a couple of times as a child and never knew it was a sega world. For all this time I assumed it was just some arcade. This is awesome!

I went to SegaWorld London as a kid, and it was VERY impressive! I can understand why it failed, because it was so ambitious, the cost to maintain it must have been enormous

I used to work here in 97 as a teenager (trocadero). You could see it going downhill within a year. I remember people asking "what's up there" every two seconds then not being impressed when we answered arcade games. Nobody gave a shit after a while. Couple that with how shit the staff were treated it was doomed.

The Sega World Bargate (in Southampton UK) closed with the closing down of the Bargate shopping centre (there's some urban explorer videos of it post closure) and the entire building that contains it was recently torn down. It looks like the land will be used for student flats.

I named my home arcade Sega World^-^

Highly unlikely, but it would be awesome if SEGA and Gameworks did a cross promotion thing where SEGA World arcades were opened inside of Gameworks that comprised of Sega arcade machines, merch and stuff. That way they would live on in a smaller way. One can dream...

segaworld bournemouth was pretty cool and a much smaller arcade stands there to this day which i visit frequently, i’m fairly sure in the back room there’s a giant sonic and tails plastic model which were used in the segaworld. according to a few people apparently a retro themed arcade should be coming soon. hopefully the sega branding will live on in there

There was also a park in the Dubai Mall called Sega Republic. It closed in 2017 after Sega's license deal expired. It reopened as a VR park in January 2018.

Sega Park Basildon closed in 2006 (not 2005) and is now (I’m not even joking) a large toilet facility. I used to go there every weekend. Mostly Saturdays after swimming, my Nan and grandad would take us there whilst they grabbed lunch just outside. I live in Basildon and it’s a small rough town. The carpet was actual classic pictures of Sonic. It had current games (depending on what year) such as Crazy Taxi, Virtua Fighter 3, Tekken Tag/4, the Jurassic Park shooter game (where you had to remember a passcode and shoot the numbers to get inside), Time Crisis, some fishing games, stuff like that. Then you had the prize machines where you can win tickets. Thirdly you had 1p/2p/10p coin machines where you try to win more coins. Lastly you had the gambling machines. Around 1998-2000 (and maybe later) they had events every Sunday, where you pay £5 admission and you can play on any arcade machine as many times or as long as you want. My mum would sometimes give my brother and I £10 each to get a bus (takes 4-5 mins to get to Sega Park), the admission and a McDonald’s for lunch. These were wonderful times. My final visit was a day that I decided to not go into college and met my (ex) girlfriend there. I bought an Xbox 360 that morning, and we played House of the Dead. Then we went to see Borat in cinema haha. I can assume there’s no questions anyone wants to know about this arcade but I’m happy to answer any if you do have any.

Yeah. Unfortunately the arcade market crashed in the late 90s/early 2000s because of home video game consoles taking over. No one wanted to go to arcades anymore because consoles were trendy and more convenient. Why go to an arcade when you have Playstation 2 at home? That was the line of thinking back then. Many arcades closed down during this time period due to lack of business. It's funny. Now 15 years later....arcades are seen as "retro cool" by many, and are making a comeback in the form of barcades. Or "retro arcades" where you pay a flat fee (like $20) and all machines are free to play.

I use to live near the Sega Megaworld in Romford and would visit it any chance I could get when in Romford during the 90s. All I can say was it occupied a space in the top floor (it wasn't very big) of the Debenham's store and had around 20-30 arcade machines in there (going off memory here). I remember playing games like Aliens VS Predator, Alien 3: The Gun, Mortal Kombat 3, Marvel VS Capcom and some others . By the late 90s it seemed to be reduced in size and by 2000 or 2001 (again, going off what I remember) I went into the Debenham's to see if they had any new machines and the Sega World there was no more. I couple of years later I moved out of the area. I still head down to Romford at least once or twice a year as I have family there and everytime I pass the market place I remember the Sega World and spending hours playing 'Aliens VS Predator' trying to beat that game with my brother.

sega park bournemouth, as a bournemouth resident i can give you some info on how it was. but the picture you used was actually not sega bournemouth, the one with the floors. bournemouth only had 1 floor. the pic you showed inside was taken in an asian sega park (firstly the 'mouth' in bournemouth isnt pronounced that way, just saying) inside the sega park, there was a sonic green hill zone themes soft play area, the walls were decorated and painted with the green hill zone backdrop, and the chequered flooring too. there were ramps and obstacles, you could run around like sonic. outside the play area were more amusements for teens and adults, and even had its own built in burger king restaurant. memories of walking in to sega park and smelling burgers on the grill whilst being hyped up to run around in sonic's world, was amazing.

I live across the road from.sega world Catford. The guy that owned it owned the Brixton one too. It lost its name and replaced the games with slot machines in about 1999. It's still open to this day. It was actually called Sega zone as was the Brixton one.

That 2nd harrow was actually sega park harlow, it got renovated in the early 2000s and currently it has a few shops there, i think its a hair salon. This harlow one was my home town one. It lost the license for sega, struggled on as a generic arcade before officially not being able to pay rent and closing afterwards. Apparently because part of the arcade is blocked off (the right hand corner) there might still be arcade machines hidden back there.

I loved going to sega world as a kid, its a shame its been closed now for years, I would love to see it reopen

Sega world in Birmingham UK, used to be above a Blockbusters but was then empty for years (had signs up for 10 years maybe, never went in was to young then closed sadly) and short time before blockbusters went bankrupt had tanning place put in and after blockbusters building changed to have gym in. One in Tamworth I think is one had bowling alley went to one there five years ago had Namco branding.

I believe the tower hill location may very well now be Brewdog Tower Hill? :) As the Starbucks on tower hill is tiny and not in a basement location, but the Brewdog bar is massive and is in the basement of an office block

I miss Sega World in Sydney. It got demolished and a massive building was built which is now owned by the Commonwealth Bank Australia.

Here in the us we had Gameworks which was us version of sega world it was pretty close the one in Arizona mills mall I use to go to look close to all the video of sega world and Sega did own half part of game works I remember trying VR, motion simulators and fighting game that you like using motion control back in like 2003. the place was awesome everything was sega pretty much had real 90 future fill to it. sadly it closed a few years back and now is a tilt. also a lot of the game where not us game which made it feel even more like Sega world

In Seattle, we have a place called Gameworks that contain a bar and a bunch of arcades and merchandise, a lot of it contains Sega related content. I wonder if in any shape or form has or was going to be a Sega World-like environment? Either way, it's the closest thing to a Sega World that we do have.

Since you did Sega, can you do a video about what happened to Namco arcades? Namco used to have "Namco Wonderparks".

I actually had my 6th birthday in segaworld at the funland establishment in london, it was absolutely amazing! Like imagine heaven but sega themed. Heck i still have like merch from that place like plushie, wallets, token coins and the birthday invite leaflets you'd get for birthday parties Was so sad to see that place go From this amazing futuristic 5 flood wonderland to a 2 floor arcade, only to be completly shut down and turned into a hotel. Tho the last remaining machines have been relocated to las Vegas arcades in Soho london.
