I wonder if Tyler still plays video games as often as before? He did sell his gaming collection. I'm 5 years older than him and I lost some of my gaming interests by 2007. I would still consider myself a semi-casual gamer. I think every person will reach an age when gaming isn't as fun as before. The most fun parts of our life in gaming is always when we look back. But as Tyler and Aly Mills said in Cobra Kai, we could look back at the past but we can't always be stuck living in it. We do have to evolve as people. We do need to grow up. Would be cool if Tyler told us which modern franchises does he still play? This channel is really dedicated to his father which is one of the nicest things a son could ever do. Keep your dad's memories alive. 8-Bit Christmas (2021). That ending was bittersweet but heartwarming and this channel reminds me of that and The Goldbergs at the end of each episode. This upload is the best video seeing Tyler's mom happy and playing an arcade game with her son. She deserves just as much praises. Tyler has two of the best parents you can ever have. The late-80s to early-90s are some of my favorite years in my life. Wish it was still 1989-1993 again.

I When Epcot in the summer of 2000 when I was 15 years old. i had no idea that The Sega Innoventions exhibit was there. It was the coolest place and I spent at least 3 or 4 hours there while my parents walked around. The Sega Dreamcast was the main focus for the upcoming games schedule. They still had the history of Sega with all the original consoles including the Master System, Game Gear, Nomad, Genesis, 32X, Saturn, and Dreamcast. The Sega Dreamcast was the first console I bought with my own money I earned from working at Farmer Jacks bagging groceries in 1999.

I’m a few years older than you, born mid 1979, and was at Disney World 2 times in the late 80’s. (‘87 and ‘89), and 3 times in the 90’s (‘94, ‘95, and ‘97). Like you, I grew up playing video games a LOT too. Although I had nowhere the amount that you had, and neither of my parents had any interest in them. I’ve always loved theme parks and amusement parks though, and have actually lived in Orlando now for over 25 years.. Epcot has always been my favorite park though. In the 90’s, Innoventions had such promise. I always wanted it to be a constantly updated, cutting edge place. But overall over its years, it just never was. Maybe in its earliest years, but it gradually got more and more outdated, and more and more abandoned as areas were closed off. Sort of like Disneyquest was at Downtown Disney too. But I really wish I could have been this place that was a cutting edge showcase. Maybe a place where news organizations even came too for reports and said “Hey, look what Sega, or Sony, or any other tech company was showing now.” Just never seemed like it was. But it’s earliest days and the promise of it? So cool.

I was there too in September 1996! Went to Disneyworld from Argentina. Magic Kingdom, Universal, Sea World, all were great. But Epcot center was the one that stuck out to me. And years later I found out that it was supposed to be the boring park. Not in the slightest to me. We were on 16 bit gaming at that time. Many folks still had NES clones. Seeing games like Marvel Super Heroes and specially Nights was incredible. For some reason we also had Sega Genesis in our hotel, on an arcade like cabinet, with Sonic and Knuckles. Even after being bombarded with Sega stuff left and right I got a SNES with Super Mario all stars + Super Mario World. Couldn't complain anyway. Keep em coming, your content its the closest thing we will get to the Doc Brown's Delorean. At least until someone comes up with the flux capacitator.

Ur dad never dissapoints and is the benchmark and standard bearer of what a great father could and should be!! Of course it probably helps that u and he share similar interests so that u guys can share these experiences together, but even when I see him not so into certain games and genres that u are. He never tries to steer u away from them, and even tho he cannot hide his disdain for certain things and questions what u find so "great" about them lol. Iv never actually seen any examples of him ever trying to push his opinions onto u, rather just let's it be known " I don't don't get bro". Which are two different things... iv seen dad's that literally make their kids feel bad for liking things they don't or try to steer their kids towards their own preferences and get frustrated when their kids don't take to them.. ur Dad at worst will walk in "ugh" n walk out when ur playing rpgs or Pokémon lol, but never "this is stupid Tyler, only immature babies enjoy Pokémon" (trust me iv seen some terrible parenting examples in my lifetime) and ur dad is NEVER that.

How interesting that in the 90s, there were so many wars over brand supremacy. Coke and Pepsi went at it hard in the 90s, WWF and WCW were duking it out in the wrestling business, then you got Nintendo and Sega in their war over the video game market. And while Sega may be no more a part of this, Nintendo is coming in hot with their own Nintendo themed park at Universal Studios, another theme park company that has been battling Disney over the theme park market in Florida since the 90s!

I miss the innocence of these. These were really great time capsules. I'm so glad your dad was able to capture it all on tapes and you were able to digitally transfer it to new media for us. My dad use to want to do the same, but we had one of those HUGE camcorders that had to take the VHS tapes and it was too heavy. We spent more time with that than actually having fun at the places.
