I'm 39 and this embodies my teenage years. This album is one of the best things ever done in the electronic music scene. It's a shame that Leftfield never did anything remotely close to the greatness of this album.
Total timeless classic. Love Leftfield and other electronic and trip hop acts like Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, Unkle, Sneaker Pimps, Atoms For Peace, Allflaws
I've heard this song probably 100 times and it gets better ever time I hear it. That is Leftfield, they have unbelievable lasting power that I really could only say probably say about 5 other acts out there. Anyway, I've hard this song loads and this is just now the first time I've ever seen the video, and this is probably the best video I've ever seen, no bullshit.
First electronica I loved! I was very anti early techno due to absurd levels of repetitiveness. This album completely changed that and I’m so happy to see it as a pillar still amongst electronica acts.
I Heard this song maybe 13 years ago at first time, when I was child. And today i listen it again from then. Is so so amazing. I feel Really happy today. I love this song. Song from the soul.
I dont see the point of looking people into their cars headbanging. The words of the song are purely and simply destroyed. I you want real video, look at AFRIKA SHOX.
I hope the next time I come back here, and I will be back many many times, that this masterpiece has couple of million more views than the 77 it currently has..........
I love this song, but the video makes it thrice as cool. I get all nostalgic, like who was I back in ‘99, what would I be saying? All these different people in their own moment, with the same tune on the radio. Such a cool video....
DIALOGUE TRANSCRIPTS 3:34 "Its better to look good, than to feel good mate" -------- "Abso-fucking-lutely!" 3:42 [sigh] You know I have friends, people want to know me" --- What?! What the fuck does that mean?" ""I know people, you know people just think I'm popular." --- Fuck eerr what the fuck you talking about?!" 4:16 "I mean, what if I could be anythink I wanted to be, by presenting my self to ???nation-see/agency????" 4:55 "I envy you taking drugs getting laid, me I've to no choice, I'm fucked" 5:19 "you know what I'm talking about, you know, I I meet new people everyday, people like what they see" --- "Can I just say this is all wrong, this not what its supposed to be, wha-what is going on here, what is going on?"
Im 45 and I love electronic music, I love trip hop and all this shit around but this week I first time find this band and Im overwhelmed, I fill like a teenager again!!!!!
Right there with you! I am 46 and live in Texas, and this takes me waaayyyyyy back. I had an amazing time with a girl I met at The Lizard Lounge in downtown Dallas in the year 2000, and it was POURING down rain just like this and we just talked and listened to the music I had in my car all night long. Leftfield, Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, LTJ Bukem, Sven Vath, Massive Attack, Tricky, Morcheeba, Zero 7 and much more all night long. I admit we were both "chemically altered" so i awill say that, but it was an amazing life moment that I will NEVER forget and this song we both had close feelings to before we met, so sharing that with each other was amazing. It is a human experience that I feel was meant to happen. Fated almost. It was a day and night I can say without a doubt, that I would fight very hard for just to be alive to experience it.
It is all perfectly true, we all mong out into our own little worlds for a moment in our isolation, then some really good tune reaches deep inside our minds and we change direction.
How o love leftfield,a guy I was dating pput this on and his house was moving the base was so high, we would play leftfield 24/ 7 when I went to his house,I wish they would bring some more fabulous music to us so the younger generation would get into it as well,no one does it like left field,no one ❤❤❤🌈🙏
i love this video. and you know, when its raining and i cycle on my bicycle i listen to this song on ipod and i begin to sing...... that's so fuckin real!!!!
There are times when you don't want to listen to the voice overs, but you will always want to hear this version there's something more acceptable and natural about it. Just an amazing song
Interesting to see / compare the two edits of the video. Each has something going for it. I think the long version is my favourite of the two. Bought this on CD single at the time for the video, but can't remember which edit ended up on it.
You know when you hear something and a memory is triggered from years gone by, well this tune always takes me back to buzzing along in Linus' car at the top of College Avenue. This video i therefor about as on the mark as one could get.
Nothing compares to Smashing this real loud on a good bassy Soundsystem in rush hour traffic in the middle of the city with office worker drones looking on in disgust
