Absolute bass weapon; hypnotic and simultaneously fucking mental. This drops in a set and it takes things to another level. On a real sound system? - wow
This track started off for me like 'okay, it's cool, sorta repetitive''. Then around 3:42 I found myself bobbin' my head and saying 'this track is raw!'. Then @ 5:26, I felt nostalgia hearing what sounded like Afrika Bambaataa (ZULU)... fantastic job, Leftfield.
I remember when this album just came out, had no idea what to expect from Leftfield since they had been quiet for so long. But man, this was some good stuff, and this is my favorite jam from it.
quite a song, have been listening to it for years but have only recently really started to appreciate it. interesting that the main drop is coming when pretty much half of the song is over already.
Didn't totally fall in love with this new album on first listen, apart from a couple of tracks. 3 days of playing it at work, in the car, while I walk my dog and at home...... pretty much love it all now. Just not long enough and 16 years is a damn long time to wait! Bass much?
Leftfield are BACK and with a thumper of a track! Remember seeing them live back in the day at the University of east Anglia on their leftism tour. One of my lop 5 gigs of all time! I missed half the encore because my girlfriend was felt sick from the BASS! Welcome back guys!
Thanks for visiting us up in Norway this fall. I was mad tripp'in on the floor to this commemorable track. I'm a retired clubber but hope to see you guys again. I might be old, but i'm not obselete haha..
Can't even begin to describe how happy this makes me. first gig ever was Leftfield at Brixton. still haven't had a gig even come close to that. welcome back. and with an absolute piece of master class.
You legend, this is fantastic been a big fan for years and still listen to the old school stuff in the car, like release the pressure, song of life. etc the kids love it.
It's superb that these boys are back. Love them. When I learned they were making new stuff, I was worried that I'd be disappointed but, if this track is anything to go by, I won't be. 8 June is my birthday. The album has gone straight to the top of my wish list.
bobhattonjnr It's only one of them that's back (Neil Barnes), but it must have been a mutual decision to revive the name. Something momentous this way comes?
+goldmeistergeneral Lesson learnt. That's why you follow/like/stalk etc every band that means anything to you, signing up to their newsletters & email updates, so that the moment they have anything new to release and then promote with a tour, you're on it, getting that precious extra couple of days of pre-sale advantage. I saw these boys - back when it was still boyS, plural - at one of the first few Creamfields (the 2nd one in '99, come to think of it), around the time of the Rhythm & Stealth release (which Google tells me was 3 weeks later); they absolutely destroyed me with a sonic onslaught of blistering techno I just could not stop dancing to no matter what my knackered body had left in it.
Yeah I used to cane my taped copy of Leftism back in my high school days. I love R&S but yeah you're not the first person I've heard that's said that. ...Talking of taped copies - in the background I've got my liked videos playlist running and I've just hit the miaows of Charly - another tape that got caned in my even earlier high school days!
Well now, this is pretty damned fantastic! It's got that unmistakable Leftfield edge to it. Can't wait to hear it blasting out of a massive sound system in an enclosed space.
I have this on 12 inch vinyl as an unmarked single sided record. I was unaware its a 45 RPM not 33.3 RPM so for a while I would listen to it slowed down hahahaah it sounds good either way
I was blown away by he cutting edge light show which went blindingly well with the music which was not familiar with, was a little disappointed they did not play there older music, soon had me dancing the graphics were off the Richter scale very quantum (awesome), cannot wait for the new CD release!
I consider Leftfield a religion to which i pray at the alter of like a pious monk, lash myself and beg for unending forgiveness, Each time i press play.
