Hey the video at 0:14 is good but just a headsup for anyone watching, please DO NOT call anyone slow. It has incredibly ableist history. Also a content warning for the surgery tiktok would be great too... I'm VERY glad I saw a TW before finishing the video
0:44 - 3:44 (TW - MASSIVE MENTIONS OF BLOOD & SURGERY WOUNDS) what should be known before you or somone you love get top surgery lowkey sent me into a panic attack cause wtf, im glad the dude is alive but that doctor is lowkey HORRIBLE
heads up for discriptions of blood and post surgery infection not taken seriously starting at 0:44! if you would prefer to skip it, skip to 3:44. if you still want to hear the story, this is me doing my best to recount it (and hopefully not get taken down again by youtube) because i believe it’s an important story. so the guy in the tiktok is talking about how he got top surgery summer of this year with a surgeon called dr. gallahger. post surgery the scars become infected, gallagher says there’s nothing to worry about and sends him home. over the course of the next weeks the tissue stays infected until he eventually ends up in the er. later he contacts a local top surgeon who eventually removes the infected tissue (quite a lot at that point). while this is happening to him he keeps in touch with gallagher, who tells him there is nothing to worry about. when he speaks out about his experiences with this surgeon, he gets replies from people with similar experiences who went to the same doctor, some of them nearly left this world (sorry for the euphemism, i believe this is why my previous comment got taken down) due to the consequences of infections not being taken seriously by gallagher. remember to take care of yourself and your loved ones and drink some water. and get a second opinion in scary medical scenarios like this. so many marginalized people are being gaslit by medical professionals and it’s not ok.
TW for blood + surgery on the second TikTok. Almost missed this one!! How is everyone? You doing good? Drink some water if you haven’t, have some food!
I showed my dad the last video, and it sparked a really productive conversation about transportation services and capitalism! Basically, thanks for uploading :D
If you liked that one, you’ll love Not Just Bikes! (Though by your interest in the conversation in the first place, you’ve probably seen his stuff, but hopefully this can be useful for other people interested 🙂)
As scary as it genuinely is, I hope you remember its your choice! Get it if you feel like you need it. All surgeries have risk, and there are always bad doctors. The best you can do is a lot of research beforehand! Your safety comes above all else, but don't let it scare you from what you need! Allow it only to inspire caution! Again, top surgery is not for everyone, but you know yourself best!
7:19 I felt this one deep in my soul. When the mom whispered that way to her kid, I almost cried because this is exactly how my mom talks to me. I'm so glad that the face painter was on that kid's side. Wish I had someone like that in my life. Trans masc gang B)
I wish I could tell Andy about the Disney movie The 13th Year, it's about a boy turning into a merman. I hope they find it someday and it makes thinking back on the insistent mermaid years as unintentional foreshadowing of their transformation.
6:02 I have lots of medical supplies I have to travel with and I’m going to Canada next year. I’m really nervous but my insulin pump/cgm can go through scanners. But tsa is tsa and they could find a reason to pat me down so fingers crossed :/
The last vid talking about body doubling was so interesting. I do find it easier to just DO things when I’m surrounded by other people. Maybe it’s an ADD (inattentive attention deficit disorder) thing as well.
Thank you so much for the tiktok on Dr.Gallagher. I was honestly planning on getting top surgery with her when I became old enough, but now im definitely going to look into other options.
I appreciate the raising awareness for Dr Gallagher but could you please put a content warning before that because medical talk for some people is just not it
@@graceanderson7933 Yeah, I wasn't particularly prepared to hear about that and felt incredibly nauseous. It's an important story to share but a content warning would have been nice.
@@pandoreldr4232 there's a difference between medical knowledge and graphic descriptions. Yeah I know that you can get severely infected, go septic, and possibly die. I'm aware of those risks. Just saying it can trigger people or make them uncomfortable to hear about it in such a graphic way when they aren't expecting it and didn't ask.
Hey you yes you, take a deep breath let it out slowly, and lower your shoulders. Know that you are important to someone even if you feel like no one loves you, guess what I do. I'm so proud of you being here. Thank you. Now make sure you take care of yourself and drink some water, eat something and take a stretch break.💜💜🤗🤗💜💜🤗🤗
00:43 this is the most revolting story I have heard in a long time! How can you treat another human being like that? How does Gallagher even have a license to be a doctor, more like a license to kill.
Imagine you're me and you post a creative writing prompt to RU-vid yesterday. You go back to check on it to see if people liked it and see it was auto-deleted. This is not the first time you've done this. Your solution for now is to break up the larger prompts into little pieces to try and see which parts trigger the auto-deletion. This website is garbage. Creative Writing Prompt #51: This week. Worldbuilding exercises. Monday Map. Today Basic needs. Getting on with it. All this applies to plants and animals too in some sense, but today we're focused on people. People can live anywhere, from lush, sustaining jungles to the hot and cold deserts to the void of space. But we have basic needs that must be met: Food, Water, Air, Shelter, Space. How do we get these from our environments? Go through your map, through the regions that people are living in, ask what these people are eating, what they're doing for fresh water, (if they need fresh air to survive, how do they get it?), how do they build their shelters and what from, and what are the structural limitations of those materials, and how do they interact with the space they're living in?
PII. When you have these basic questions answered, go back through the list. What tools have these people invented to get their basic needs met? From scythes to distilleries to bronze to chisels to wheels. Consider the limitations of those tools and why some people might not have them. Wheels, for example, I understand were not invented for transport in many rocky or mountainous regions because they're useless without sold, even ground. They were, however, used in some cases for grain or lumber mills. Domestic animals. For an animal to be domesticated, there are several conditions it must meet: 1, it must grow up quickly and breed easily. 2, it must be able to eat the things we can't eat. It's hard to justify feeding your pet tiger your cow when you could just eat the cow instead. 3, They can survive easily in the environments we live in, and can be easily contained by the resources we can manipulate with the tools we have on hand. You may be able to keep cows in with a short wooden fence, but not a deer or rhino. 4: They must be social animals, which live happily alongside other animals and can be conditioned to tolerate human control.
If your people can't get the things they need from their environment, then they have to rely on other people sending those things to them, like supply drops in Antarctica or massive irrigation systems in the deserts of the US. If you can imagine it, someone probably already lives somewhere similar. Look up what those people are doing and the things they eat/drink/breathe/build to survive.

My friend and I are going to our future uni's outdoor cinema event to watch 'The Menu' on Jan 08! It's insanely cheap compared to indoor cinemas and us as students only need to pay $10 with GST included! All money goes to children with additional medical care needs, and people who require a service animal or carer get in free! It's so cool and it's available from Nov - Apr every year (during our Summer). I can't wait!
