I knew it was an act. Everyone who has turned their humanity back on has had a full blown meltdown and a deep shame spiral. Hope turned it off so she wouldn’t feel the pain of killing Landon, she would have lost it. Add to that, nearly killing Rick, disappointing her parents, ruining Clarke’s relationship and pushing everyone away, she wouldn’t be OK…
Yes true but in all fairness Hope has really gone on a killing spree like the rest outside of Alaric and she has given warning to her loved ones repeatedly instead of kill them and she has only gone after triad for going after her. Hope has shown a considerable amount of restraint and discretion for having no humanity. She is in there even in the passenger seat throwing her hands on the wheel every so often even if she isn’t in the drivers seat.
That makes sense, everyone who turned their humanity back on has a lot of regrets on what they did when their humanity was off, like Elena Gilbert for example
@Hanifi Demir Hope is pulling a Caroline humanity switch off stunt where she is doing bad things but she is using logic to prepare herself for when it comes back on. It’s a control freak power that we have only seen with her and now Hope. Caroline til this day has demonstrated the best at this skill and Hope still has her fathers temper so that’s why Lizzie got it after it was evident she was not going to leave her alone, which was dumb why are the good guys monologuing like villains , say what you gotta say to live for the day then do what you have to do from a place of safety and power. 🤦🏾♂️ lie ppl lol lie !
Actually I remember her saying that she didn't even do it on purpose in the episode where she attacked Alarick and she later confirmed that with Rebekah to plus every vampire turns it off says you're not turning it back on but yeah I believe that you're right because she would be breaking down in fact the only reason why she even activated her tribrid side was so that no one else would die like that. Plus I just don't think she would turn it off again after everything she's done.
Don't get me wrong. I still want no humanity hope plot in the show. But god, Lizzie's confession was so pure and touching that I really fell for it. You could see that she was not saying it just to turn Hope's humanity back on. She was saying it cause eventhough she thought she could do that, she could not kill Hope, cause she was her friend no matter what. The best performed scene by Lizzie in this season, for me at least.
I totally agree with you, I think it was a beautiful scene between the two and totally trucker me as well. I think it’s a great idea for Lizzie to change her mind like this and find out what she is really fighting for. Sad that Josie is gone now.. In the end we all know that it will be Landon who comes around right on time to stop Hope from doing dumb shot and turn her humanity back on. I’d have loved for the twins to do it
It’s funny, when it happened I was super disappointed. I was like, out of all people Lizzie is the one to switch it on. But when she joy back into her body, and said she faked it, I was super relieved .
I thought it was really because I thought someone being tuff would be the way to do it. Lizzie was the obvious person for tuff love so I thought that would make sense.
I'm not opposed to "Hizzie," in fact it'd be far more believable than "Hosie" or "Handon." But let's be real. By no means does this sound like a romantic confession. She literally says "I hate you _for being my friend._ And for _being part of my weird, messed up family."_ Why would Lizzie make statements of platonic and familial love... then directly offer up a romantic love confession? It just doesn't fit. It's pretty obvious this is meant to be interpreted as sisterly love.
I know a lot of people would like to consider Hope this strong but as soon as she really does flip her switch she's going to go to pieces and start balling anything less would be underwhelming. As soon as she remembers what she did to Alaric she really will crumble.
With Lizzie too. A lot people think Hope care more for Josie because she didn't kill her the way she did Lizzie. But that is not the case. Hope has her humanity turned off and doesn't care about anything at moment. But, once she get her humanity back its going to be a tidal wave of emotions. She going to be upset about everything she did.
@@ShardaeCotton very true it's crazy with all the reading Lizzie did she never came across a passage of anyone turning their humanity back on it's usually a hurricane of emotions.
That's what I've been saying to people who think that it's a good thing that Hope turned it off. Yeah, it's fun and interesting, but in reality, once she turns it back on it's going to hit her like a truck. Everything she did is going to come back to bite her in the toosh. She's gonna have a lot of pain to deal with. It's fun right now, but it's not gonna be fun when it's back on. It never has been for anybody.
When Hope turns on her humanity, I imagine it will be devastating, not only for her but for everyone around her. She will break down and won’t be able to control her emotions, and we’ve seen what happens when Hope’s emotions overwhelm her (setting fire to that van with purist vampires, setting the school wood house in fire when Freya was there, the scream in the woods with Lizzie, her reactions after her and Landon broke up, her reactions to people talking about her father). All these things, she shows immense destructive power when she’s hurt so I imagine when she turns it back on it’ll be a lot more dangerous for everyone around.
This is how you can weed out the real TVD universe fans from the fakes. Y'all dang well when a vampire's humanity switches back on, everything they were running from catches up to them: Elena when Jeremy died, Stefan when he realised he'd been a mass murderer, Caroline with her mom, Elijah with Hayley...
Yeah, everyone’s squealing romantic love, but honestly, Josie, Lizzie, and Hope have pretty much been sisters this whole show, bar Hope’s one time casual admittance that she had a crush on Josie once. Dating each other just seems out of character at this point.
People desperately want to make ships that never happening, like Hosie I want to see Hosie too (but I'm not that desperate) but now that Kaylee left the show, for now, it's not happenig anytime soon.
Someone give Hope her humanity back. I knew she was faking that whole time. If she really did turn her humanity back on the first thing she would’ve said is I killed Landon😭😭😭.
Anyone who has actually watched the vampires diaries knew this was an act 😂 trust me, we KNOW what turning your humanity on actually looks like. Remember when Damon turned Elena's on by killing Matt? When Stefan turned Carolines on by showing her her mom? INTENSE ASS SCENES. I was looking at Hope like "...oh hell nah bitch you lying" 😂😂 Also never would she SMILE afterwards...she would have broke down talking about Landon this Landon that omg Alaric blah blah
I was first thinking: what is it? Danielle acting THAT bad?!!! Or Hope lying? For humanity could not be back that simple after her loosing Landon and after everything she had done to her friends and Alaric
In legacies s01e14 when Lizzie told Hope that "they were in this to the bitter end" she was not lying. I love how Hope and Lizzie relationship developed over the last 3 seasons. This is why I preferred Hizzie over Hoise more chemistry and relationship development growth.
Why does everyone think this is a romantic declaration. Lizzie doesn’t have romantic feelings for Hope, it’s more of a best friend/sisterly type of thing, with a sprinkle of frenemy.
Everything else aside, I reallyyyyy hope that Landon wouldn't be the one that turn Hope's humanity back on. I don't mind him coming back to life again. But if Landon can do it while Rebekah couldn't that would be just an overkill. In TVD and TO, in which Elena, Caroline, Stefan and Elijah turn off their humanity got really great storylines when they can finally turn back on their humanity. Not just some teenage love who turned all of them back there's actually some depth in the story. I hope Legacies will take a page or two from TVD and TO on this switching on and off humanity thingy.
I wonder if Phobeb Tonkin will ever reprise her as Hayley has a ghost verison of herself. I believe the only ones the would be able to bring Hope's humanity back on is one of her parents. If Landon was to bring Hope's humanity on it would be a waste and so predictable.
but Hayley found her peace as far as I remember from TO. She was with her pack and with Jackson. For Hope to see her once again would've mean to die for a while, I think
I love this scene so much and am super disappointed that Hope faked it. Though the lack of break down was suspect. Love that Lizzie had a failsafe (assuming that Aurora gave her some of Hope's blood before Lizzie betrayed her.
To be really fair, I thought that yes hope got her humanity back on I was literally jumping up and down to know that she was pretending. I just wish they'd just make hope humanity come back on
Turning humanity off is symbolic for coping with trauma. Lots of people that went through traumatic events, " turn off" their memory to that specific event. Therefore, no vampire would ever turn humanity off unless they NEED to. Turning it back on causes an overwhelming wave of the feeling they were trying to run from to begin with.
Her acting was so good I thought she turned it back on but then I noticed she didn't get a meltdown which one would get always after turning it back on (Based on TVD, The Originals) so I knew it was an act. I can see why Lizzie fell for it since she never had any vampire friends turn their humanity off and on before. However, smart of Lizzie to have an insurance policy with vampire blood in her :P I wonder who's blood it was??
@@maz2814 because they most likely were not meant to stay friends. if they were, the writers wouldn't have made lizzie reciprocate his feeling last season. they would've kept the crush on sided with MG's feelings slowly turning from romantic to platonic. but that's not what they did
@@LouisaMarit well that doesn't mean anything people can be friends after having romantic feelings before, and tbh mizzie isn't even a great ship they have no buzz
I quite liked the way it happened but I fully expected a full melt down spiral not just of guilt but also of her senses being fully overwhelming again and there was nothing so it does make sense that she was faking it
When I tell y’all I am literally flabbergasted right now number one heretic Lizzie we stand number two Danielle is an amazing actress and number three Josie was amazing this episode I don’t know I cannot wait until next episode also #hizzie
I should have known she was faking it. When a vampire turns their emotions back on, they are devastated and completely unravel because of the guilt of everything they did and the pain of what made them turn it off in the first place. They are completely overwhelmed when everything comes rushing back. If Hope really came back, she would not be smiling and happy like she was in this scene.
Agh!!! I wanted Josie to turn Hope’s humanity back on and for Josie to become a heretic. How is that everything I wanted is happening with Lizzie? And I already miss Hope without her humanity. I want Hosie to happen.
From the moment Kaylee was cast as josie she said she wanted to be like Kai and from the moment Jenny was cast as Lizzie she wanted to be a heretic. They’ve publicly said many times that every season they would beg the writers to do it
Josie is leaving the show because on December 1st 2021 it was announced that she had been casted in a movie called “the locksmith” that she had auditioned for and it’s currently filming in Las cruces, New Mexico. She can’t be on the show and film the movie at the same time so she’s leaving the show for now at least. If she wants to come back after then she can
You can tell she was acting, all those emotions and everything she had done would have hit her so hard she would have been freaking out I mean she did almost kill Alaric the only father figure she’s ever had I’ll give her hope her credit that was pretty convincing lol
I actually did believe this at first but I did find it really weird that she wasn't breaking down like every vampire ever. So wasn't particularly surprised when she said she still had it off but now I'm thinking well how did I actually think that she turned it on.
Let's be real here. Hate him or not landon is the only one that's gonna Be Able to turn her humanity back on. Both Josie and Lizzie tried and Failed, Her Fam tried didn't work, clark Tried and it didn't work as well. So It's Landon.

If u didn’t kno abt vampires when they turn it off and turn it bck on all the memories and all the ppl that they killed come bck to them but hope her’s didn’t do it was a joke act but I’m mad tho😕
I knew it was too easy. There’s still way too much of the season left for her only to have her humanity off for five episodes? I was also really surprised if she turned her emotions back on and realized she killed all those people and her dad adjacent Alaric, and she didn’t even cry? Seemed way too good to be true in my opinion.
Hope a great actor when she pretended that she did turned on her humanity. Evil hope is more gruesome than ever, the way she broke Lizzie neck was just straight up malice. Now Lizzie becomes a vampire lackey Hope. Like to see how this turns out next episode.
I think hope will turn on humanity on the 11 episode because they had Elena humanity off for exactly 7 episode and since hope turned off her humanity off since episode six that’s when she will turn it back on
Her humanity in back on like I'm the king of England... Lizzie is Gullible, hope never flipped the switch back. If she did then this is completely underwhelming after everything she's done.
