The arm proportions make more sense if you factor the upper arm (red part) starts UNDER the shoulder pad, instead of AT the shoulder. It's a really weird design.
I would love to have that gimmick back! We definitely need some Energon love in this line and I'm glad Hasbro is trying out that gimmick again before bringing it back.
@@kdognicholson24 I feel like the trick is figuring out the budget for it. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that at least one of the designers has it figured out how to make modern combining Energon Autobots work, they'd just need to get the designs drawn out and given a budget. Hasbro would need to feel comfortable that they'd sell, too. I've been thinking about this a lot lately! :D
Hey don't forget Metroplex we got him too for "Transformers: Cybertron" he should be in that Autobot group shot with Optimus Prime, Victor Prime, Override & Hot Shot!
I remember when you changed the order you review your toys from vehicle/robot to whatever more that starts in the box. At first I didn’t like the change but looking now this order makes it easier for when I get the same toy and want to follow along
One of my first purchases since returning to collecting these amazing engineering marvels . I can’t imagine of better figure so solid and extremely impressive
It has been 19 years since I got the original copy of this Hotshot. 19 years since I got my first Transformer. Thank you EmGo and Hasbro for taking me back thru time to when I fell in love with the Franchise! 🥹❤️
Pretty nice update imo, the robot mode has a much cleaner silhouette than the original. Just wish the wings were a bit bigger, you can't really see them over the giant shoulders.
Not sure if it's what you are looking for, but the Star Raiders Canonbolt, made from the Skids mold, with a fair bit of remolding to take after the cybertron version, so there's about a 50% chance he'll be repainted into Red Alert
I love Unicron Trilogy, especially Transformers Cybertron anime it’s the closes we’ll ever get to Optimus Prime going full-on Brave series mode and I don’t complain! Unicron Trilogy needs more respect and love, and I will stand for it!
I can see this being retooled into Armada Blurr down the line, might not be fully accurate but not alot of these alternate universe/brought into G1 figures have been.
I'm not familiar with this character, but overall, he looks good. I don't like those huge hinges at the shoulders. I'd be keeping those door armour parts on as it takes some attention of those daft arms. Great video man.
If they'd made the windshield rotate and flip up to cover the back rather than dangle over the butt, it would be a massive improvement for almost no extra parts.
Don't you mean...keep on rising? LOL😂 i hear you. I personally prefer what they were doing with the MP-01 Optimus Prime over current masterpieces, but some styles of figures will grab my attention too. My favorite baye verse figure has to be the revenge of the fallen ravage. I'm not a big fan of most of those designs, but that figure will always be one of my favorite figures.
Perfectly fine with the OG, despite part of it's paint scratched off, but I am keeping it in storage and have his Vanguard version on display, and using Excelliom as the collection display model for the mold. Also would it be too much to ask Hasbro for a Legacy Signal Lancer?
Hey Emgo, I found out fans hobby MB-26 the saber team ( The star saber mini-cons)is available for order in August of 2024. Also I remember Hot Shot, he beated Override for the speed planet cup, then got upgraded to his Cybertron assault team with red alert and scattershot.
This is going to be way off topic but did anyone notice in the evolution artwork poster with the g1 insecticons that if you look closely you can actually see alm delux insecticons right behind Bombshell , Shrapnel and Kickback got curious after getting chop shop and batrage today and yeah they're all in the evolution poster even venom .
No mention of how the cyber planet key is functional with Override as well? I was wondering how well it fits into her blaster, since my OG cyber key is a tad loose in that port.
Despite not having any attachment to Cybertron, I think this guy looks sick! I actually kinda want him, tbh! It'd be cool to have a Hot Shot in the collection!
I don't remember if I got the Cybertron Hot Shot mold; currently, all my figures from that era are in storage totes and I don't yet have the shelf space to uncrate and display them. I thought I remembered him having stubby little forearms but better shoulders than this iteration, though, and I'm glad to see that I remembered this much correctly.
I still secretly want the star saber trio T_T, But I'd rather save up for TFC Toys Poseidon 6 figure combiner, all their weapons also combine into a giant sword that is way more badass.
any Hot Shot i like would be this version to Armada Hot Shot and his alternate color in red then his other variant from Energon that utilizes the power link cores
I never watched Cybertron so I never realized exactly how much he looked like Hot Rod (are we sure he wasn't supposed to BE Hot Rod and Hasbro just lost the name at the time?). His shins even look almost exactly like the G1 Hot Rod toy shins. I'm seeing a lot of things I expect Toyhax to fix, like the missing yellow on the spoiler and the detail on the grey part on the roof/backpack. Honestly kind of amazed the forearm kibble isn't 100% transclearant yellow with blue paint like on the original, given that this is 2024 Hasbro we're talking about here. That's one thing actually better on this new one.
Still drives me mad that Cybertron is in the classics line as I remember watching these shows kind of secretively as a young adult thinking oh crap I'm watching something really intended for little kids but I enjoyed Armada energon and Cybertron....... With all the crazy stuff going on years back these shows were comfort food a nice safe getaway
We sort of got a CDF Hot Shot already. Generations selects gave us Cybertron hot shot, but in his Cybertron Defense Team body. He was a recolor of Siege Hound with a new head, and from what I have seen, their are upgrade kits to make him look even more accurate
Man Ultra Magnus is getting paranoid in his old age. LOL 😂 I want to get one, but much like other figures lately I've to wait until later to get it. Between my move this year, past pre-orders, and other commitments my wallet is pretty maxed out this year. That and god only knows if hasbro is going to try and sneak in another haslab project in the regular time slot. They might since the omega Prime was seriously late launched for something that was supposed to launch last october. That would force me to cancel other orders to get that. There is way too much wallet fatigue level of product to even try to keep up 😢😢😢
Anyone else remember the original having different proportions. I don’t remember the tiny forearms and huge backpack. I was also 8 so that is probably why.
Literally no one. One of the WORSE things Hasbro ever implemented on their figures. It's one of the BIGGEST fan complaints, right behind Gold/Brown Plastic Syndrome and transparent plastic used on joints. Unless there is a bright light source behind the figure AT ALL TIMES, light piping gives them that "dead eyed" look because their optics aren't lit up. Works great if you want to pretend they are dead, looks terrible if you want to display them. Thank Primus, Hasbro is finally listening the to fans and dropping that "feature".
It's so strange seeing Armada/Energon/Cybertron being precious retro figures who get modern updates now, they still feel like the "new" guys to this old fogey. That said, most of the recent figures seem a bit redundant to me: the original Cybertron Leader Optimus, Voyager Starscream, & Voyager Vector all still hold up extremely well, with the Legacy iterations either just comparable or (in Optimus' case) inferior to the original. Great for folk who didn't get the original line, but I'm glad I kept my now-preciouses. It's just a shame we probably won't get more articulated/better engineered versions of bots that could've really done with improvements - Side Swipe, Cyclonus, Overload, etc. I'm guessing they'll be doing Red Alert at some point too.
@@ZachDy-xg9it Yes, those too. but mainly the double-robot combinations, but with updated designs. Ironhide, for example, they've got to do something to hide the head in vehicle mode.
Kinda weird that he's got this weird dark blue unpaintable plastic that isn't even trying to match any of the colors he's actually supposed to have. Feels like most of it could have just been color-matched to his bright blue instead, except for his fists, which probably don't need to be unpaintable plastic in the first place.
Have to say I was on the fence before but I think while I do like the update, I'll have to skip this one. The arms look bad in hand and the face feels like it's too far back on the head. That visor looks like it sticks out way too much.
@@emgo316 I have preferred the packaging for Transformers amongst other brands when there was the useful plastic in this box to keep the figures in mint collection, I am not a fan of the mass-produced plastic free open packaging that omits the plastic yet still leaves the gap in the packaging for any figures that is not a leader class, I liked when Hasbro including Cyber Planet keys when it was required yet the new ones just seem to me a piece of unnecessary plastic that people will lose that overall could have done without, but that is just my opinion
In all fairness, the original cyber planet keys were just pieces of plastic that people could lose. These days it’s kinda hard to find cybertron figures that still have their keys.
