6:49 okay so that solves the question from earlier. It’s not molded in clear red. It’s molded in clear yellow and painted with a clear red. That’s so cool
I hate the elbows on this guy. The upper arms should just be 10% shorter and the lower arms 10% longer. Only issue is that this would make the lower arm’s kibble get stuck even worse.
if it isn’t something you’ve put together by now, the cyber key isn’t actually cast in trans red, it’s cast in trans yellow with the windshield and painted with a transparent red underneath, giving it an overall impression of being red. it’s the same technique used for things like legacy minerva’s windshield, they use a certain base plastic colour and then paint it appropriately to get the colour they want from it, so they dont have to make separate sprues or dual-mold it, it’s a really clever technique that i cant say ive seen anywhere else
Cybertron Hot Shot has always been my favorite iteration and design of the character, his alt mode is one of my all time favorites because one it reminds me of a Ford GT and two I had a Hot Wheels called 40 Somethin' in a blue color that reminded me of Hot Shot. He and Override are at the top of my list and I will get both of them
Wow, this cycbertron legacy figure did NOT get the love cybertron StarScream did. Legacy StarScream seems built around making radical improvements on the original. This hot shot is literally the same toy with better articulation, but with all the same problems of the original.
The windshield hanging down is accurate, but always a jarring design choice. It would have been neat if they could have put the hinge on a separate mushroom peg that you could rotate and flip upwards onto his back as a display option. How the heck does this guy sit down? lol
I didnt know he got a Legacy toy. Im glad I got the original, which I got at a retro toy store a few months back though it was the Galaxy Force version.
My first transformer ever was a red Hot Shot. I don't remember what toy line it was but it looks just like this guy but red. I got him when i was like 3 or 4 years old. So when this new legacy toy gets a red variant I need to get him.
@@posorion Walmart is gonna have a line of capsule (exclusive sub line) of Cybertron figures of repaints including excellion, red alert, skywarp, with a new deluxe sideways and a leader we don't know yet (could be reprint of GUOP which imo doesn't live up to OG prime, or a Onyx Prime retool of scourge)
*memories of having the old Cybertron Hot Shot when I was younger comes back to me:* I don’t need it. I don’t need it. I don’t need it. I definitely don’t need it. I NEED IT!!!!!!!
I noticed that too after I got my Legacy Cybertron Hot Shot earlier today. The door-mounted blasters were such a subtle detail on the original, but I loved them because it was so obvious to me that the arm blasters and the flip-out yellow spoiler wings were homages to G1 Hot Rod. The Excellion recolor of the original (one of the two versions of the original mold that I have, the other being 2007 Movie Breakway/Getaway) made the resemblance to Hot Rod even more obvious and that's why I love it.
Definitely one of the taller deluxe figures, as he stands about the same as Velocitron Overide. So glad this didn't get priced as a voyager. The Cyber key despite being tine, and representative of the original weapon are really nice inclusions. Just wish something could have been done to improve his shoulders from the original.
Hot Shot is so cool! He and Hot Rod are my favorite Transformers (Alongside Optimus and Jazz), he is the one responsible for Bumblebee's glow up of going from a Beetle to a Camaro, because in the 07 film he was designed to be Hot Shot. (Who, was just Hot Rod with a name change due to copyright, and was sort of fused with Bumblebee to be yellow) So yeah This toy is AMAZING.
I think the funniest part about this toy to me and the main reason I'm getting one is because it'll give me a version of the toy that I feel comfortable playing with! Why? Because I own the original...kind of. I have the rare 1-of-500 Red Exillion (Yes, the actual one. I get people asking me all the time if I don't have it confused for the common Excellion version. Trust me, I have triple and quadruple checked, it's the real deal) which naturally given it's value and rarity I don't really PLAY with it, it's just a beautiful display piece in my collection. "Well why don't you just buy Excellion or normal Cybertron Hot Shot" that's a good question and to be honest I couldn't tell ya .w.
The OG version had the same type of articulation especially in the shoulders/arms lol. I had the red version back then but really wanted this normal color version. But mine is arriving today sometime, finally! Will have every Cybertron figure so far, well, once Cannonball comes in tomorrow.
The one thing I don't like about his design is the window kibble, just looks awful hanging off his arms and back. I know that's how it looked on the toy and in the show but I really wish they folded away somehow. That and the shoulder articulation are what's keeping me from really wanting this figure
After 17 years, I am now realizing just how wrong I was when I talked about the original hot shot. I always thought it was Hot Rod. Clearly I was wrong. I couldnt remember the toy clearly enough. I only remembered the vague shape, the pale blue, and the trans yellow wings.
My copy's toe started doing that too. Same side as your's. Usually when things like these happen, you're not the only one. After collecting these things for a year now that has become abundantly clear to me.
Ngl, this hot shot is my favorite of the Cybertron 2.0s. Its on par with Armada Megs of being a beautiful mix of og toy and cartoon popped out of the screen. Now if only Energon hadnt gotten shafted.
I really hope we get Excellion with the Hot Rod colours and Shattered Glass Gold Bug out of this mold. Both those Decos are awesome. Really hoped the windshield could fold up but I still am very keen to get this
I have such a wild core memory of the red repaint Excellion being one of if not my favorite toy as a kid cuz I loved the transformation and the color red. Ik I called him Hot Shot as well cuz I was small brain so when I saw this revealed I knew that the Armada one was gettin replaced off rip. I think Excellion got a leak so I hope I can get him back again in a modern fashion 🥺
Idk if it's just me but I have a distinct memory of getting the legends of cybertron toy from the dollar store in the standard deco and also a grey and red deco. I have no idea if it's real because there's nothing on the wiki about it, but I SWEAR I had it as a kid.
The paint makes it look like a sports car version of the Mystery Machine from scooby doo. Maybe its just the light, but that blue and yellow just looks off.
This has got to be a dream Earlier before this video was uploaded, I had a strange urge to mess around with my legends Cybertron Hot Shot Aaaaaaand then this video goes up
I was excited as well for the hotshot though for a different reason. I was not the biggest fan of that design but it was identical to another transforming robot Dran from Brave of gold, so ya after watching this review I am definitely getting one for my custom.
those feet are annoying. mine does the same thing. i mean it doesnt auto pop out but the feet do peg in. very shallow like sideways tab slot connection. yeah if you dont rotate his head he will stare at you through the windsheild lolol his Cyber key actually fits into the back of Override lol and looks good. great review!
this guy like that og small one was the like knock off heaven their were so many I had like this black and yellow version that was a bit bigger I believe crazy
Wait, this mold has the same problem that the old deluxe did? I wonder if we can shave off that bit of the wheel arch to improve the shoulder articulation again.
From the yellow glow, the key appears to be molded in the same transparent yellow plastic like every transparent bits else, but painted with a layer of transparent red paint
I really like this toy, I have him on Pre-order with Pulse, but they don't have him yet, he may be one of the best deluxe of the year alongside Gears and Shard
Better than prime Vs primes review since his review is before anyone else and he has just reviewed studio series 86 movie bumblebee I'm annoyed with that at least I wait for this legand to review toys before I buy em
