It was the Sesquicentennial of the Mormon Pioneer Trail and 100s of thousands of participants and spectators and local communities celebrated the 1000 mile journey to the Great Salt Lake Valley. The spirit of the trail became real and the reality of that westward migration was experienced by everyone who put faith in every footstep.
