Thanks for covering this topic, I would like to see it discussed more in depth. Here in Ohio, the way I read the regulations, it's against the law to even damage any native vegetation. Seems like a pretty vague law for a warden to interpret how he wishes.

Yes high time to eliminate bad regs that make barriers to hunting

Wow.... I actually heard the possibility of some common sense approach to an issue of snipping a twig or two. Cutting shooting lanes is not acceptable though. As for screw in steps, keep them out of the woods.

I wasn’t suggesting steps, but smaller gear holders that screw in

@@adamlewis_outdoor I would agree with that as well. Excellent interview.

A regulation that allows anyone to remove and claim a stand after a certain date would eliminate this 100 percent

There is supposed to be a name on the stand in Michigan and they are free game to take down after a certain date.

Fred Bear didn't need to screw anything into a tree. We don't do it on our own property, why would you do it on something you don't.

You don’t have to. Public land is everyone’s, and it’s a reasonable thing to help hunters, especially the trimming. Screw in gear holders hurt nothing.

Fred Bear needed a a lot of money and a guide for his type of "hunting"
