The Seach for Elle Woods was a reality show aired by MTV in 2008, created in order to cast an actress to replace Laura Bell Bundy in the role of Elle Woods in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde: The Musical. The winner was Bailey Hanks. Autumn Hurlbert, the secont finalist, became Elle Woods understudy. At the Legally Blonde first National Tour in 2008-2010 Lauren Ashley, one of the finalists on "The Search", was part of the chrorus and also Elle Woods understudy . In January of 2009 Becky Gulsvig, the oficial Elle Woods on tour, broke her big toe at backstage and the actress who was the Elle Woods standby suferd an accident, so Lauren Ashley leaded the show for six weeks at the matinees and Laura Bell Bundy (the broadway Elle Woods) was invited to came back to the show to play the part at evening performances. Rhiannon Hansen, another "The Search" finalist, played the part of Margot on tour and after the this incident became one of Elle Woods understudies.
I think out of everyone on The Search For Elle Woods Lauren had the most successful career. Or Celina is a close second since she ended up winning a Tony Award
@softea7549 Bailey performed in legally blonde from July to October, when the show closed. She has since quit the industry and became a hairdresser so she definitely hasn't had the most successful theatre career (although I believe she quit by choice)
Rhiannon killed Margo. She has the qwerkiness for the role, her stage presence Is amazing. I was always rooting for her to get some role because her acting and presence was amazing and she could really sing it was just her endurance. So great Rhiannon!
Think: the final four girls all got to do the show. The first two to go from the final four (Lauren and Rhiannon) made it in the tour and the final two (Bailey and autumn) made it in the broadway show. So at least they all got to do some sort of show. If u don’t k ow what I’m talking abt then u haven’t been here
like we stood a chance swift I know this is 6 months late but she was baileys understudy and was a delta nu and possibly magots understudy but I’m not sure
I really really like Lauren's Elle: she's much more natural than I've seen the other girls play her. Not as much a cartoon character. And she was nicer to the saleslady, which I thought was a really good choice. She didn't get all sarcastic and put her finger in the air, she was just like, ummmm no that's not going to work. I think that is way more like the character should be: a kind person, but not a dummy.
lauren is my giiiiirrrrllll. she is so amazing and deserves this role on broadway. and rhiannon is a much better margot. she has such a joyous and goofy presence that i think fits margot better. so proud of both of them
Lauren was amazing!!! As a fellow Rhiannon, I have to say Rhiannon was my one of my favorites on the show, but Lauren was the other. She was a perfect Margo! I love this video!
Tbh I think the judges were right and Lauren needed to grow a little more as an actress before being Elle cause her scene with the sales woman is so much more Elle than during the audition, but idk anyone else??
I can't speak to whether she's grown up by this time (only maybe a year later after the show) but I do think the changes to her scene work could also just be the result of actually getting to rehearse with a director and consistent scene partner
Lauren is fantastic here, especially in how she interacts with the Delta Nus. You really get the sense they’re her best friends, which I think a lot of other Elles miss. Big fan! ❤
I think Rhiannon was a FANTASTIC Margot, but the fact that they brought in LBB to cover evening performances when Rhiannon was already the second understudy bothers me. They should've just let her be Elle for a few shows!
I love the trio in this and i prefer lauren's elle than bailey's. But overall the production seemed like a big downgrade from the broadway production. Idk maybe it was the set
Tours are always limited. They have to have a set adaptable to every stage that can be packed up and moved quickly. They literally can’t have enormous set pieces
Nothing is missing. This was the tour setting, it was smaller and simpler than broadway's. Maybe it looks a bit empty because this stage is specifically bigger.
Zoe Rodriguez They have a smaller set for the tour so that there’s less to bump in and out and so they don’t have to make any adaptations to the theatres (e.g. cutting trap doors in the stage). Basically to keep costs down while they’re travelling around the country!
@@mightbeiguess yup zipper or magnets on the back of the white one and they just tear it off and the sales lady gods the pink prop on the hanger with the white slip-on.
Halsey Robert whatever, I'm allowed to have an opinion, doesn't mean I'm a hater! Stupid people like you think everyone is a hater who doesn't share your opinion.
Lauren is just not Elle😬 she’s not that good of a dancer. She’s a okay singer though! Edit:I’m not comparing her to LBB:) I don’t do that I just state my opinions on their own
