the only thing i dont rlly like about the revival is all the delta nu girls wearing pink. in the original they all had their own colors and personalities and now it just seems like they are all just bg girlies for elle
My biggest issue is how modern looking the show is. The fact that the girls are dancing in front of a ring light is too 2019 and beyond. The story takes place in the early 2000’s and i wish it was more like that.
It immediately strikes me as a very different kind of performance of Legally Blonde. I like the diversity of the cast. However, I am not as much of a fan of some of the performance choices. It feels to me like an aggressive take on the show. In the original production, Elle is a very pure and good character who pushes herself to excel while elevating everyone along the way. There were elements of this that didn't feel that way for me, for example, the shop scene, where the characters seemed catty more than anything else. The lead singer had a very good voice though, nice and clear on the high notes.
I love this so much! I love the fact that they have all genders (including non binary,) all body types and all races. One thing that I would possibly change is Margot’s Voice to a lower voice to fit his/her/their voice better!
Agreed. Saw it in previews and hoped it would have gotten a little better by now. It's clear they just can't sing that high, and that's okay! They should have played another role as acting-wise I really liked Isaac.
I loved this! Its so original! I never thought about Laura Bell Bundy or Sheridan Smith once watching this! Courtney Bowman makes this her own!! The dog suit was my only "umm okay" moment throughout the whole thing. Everything else was so fun!!
This performance is fantastic!!! Really wish I could see it. Courtney is like a PERFECT Elle Woods. Also, all the Delta Nu girls are fabulous. And Billy Luke Evers is everything. I never knew the shop keeper was a role I needed to play until this lol. Also, the human gay Bruiser is HILARIOUS!!
First Anne Boleyn now Elle Woods. Courtney Bowman has quite the acting chops to play both. Also shout out to Grace Mouat as well. (Honorable mention Lauren Drew who's in the cast too but wasn't part of the performance)
wait is the idea that they're filming a tiktok or facetiming Elle? because either way it makes no sense if it's a dancing tiktok why would they be talking about/to Elle and if it's FaceTime why would they be dancing 😭
This performance certainly didn't inspire me to book tickets. Don't get me wrong, there were some stellar vocals from a few cast members, it just feels... meh.
@@Amy-zq5kn I won't be able to see it live, to me it looked too different to the Savoy production. Also the whole human being the dog thing is really weird.
This is cool but something about the timing is off... it feels more like they're rushing through their lines as fast possible rather than reacting to orher characters. Like at the half loop pucker scene it feels like Elle already knew what the clerk would say. Idk just comes off as unnatural to me.
at 6:11 i'm pretty sure courtney was inspired by Autumn's opt up at that part. I know she's a big fan of the mtv reality series, and what great way to honor that.
She is the dream of Elle Woods!!! Her voice is incredible, sturdy, strong and full of characters. The last high note was so clear and satisfying. The best Elle Woods ever! Love her, love her!!! And love all the drags and transgender characters as well! Please have a UK tour to Canterbury 🙏🙏🙏
When we say we wanna see diversity... we mean we wanna see people who actually fit roles regardless of race, weight, and gender and not just any old person who let's producers tick a box
@@starborn2761 imo the only actor who feels a bit out of place is margot . but thats because the key seems a bit too high for their range so its not even their fault .
I thought I'd hate it, but it was actually really funny and made sense - the theatre isn't appropriate for having actual dogs (no wings so no place for the dogs to run on from) so this was a funny and camp way around that problem!
@@LolaGabriella I just feel like they have turned it into a bit of a joke I loved the original and Courtney as Elle is amazing but some of the changes just seem a bit too OTT
their mic was not taped to her cheek, it was halfway down their neck so ofc it would sound funny. it’s west end live, obviously there’s going to be a lot of flaws. stop judging the actors before actually seeing the show itself
I’ve seen the show and thought they sounded really great there.. really stood out too me🤍 just being in the WEL audience you could tell their mic was not working properly x
Sorry but the tiktok thing was not it. It is one of the better ones of the tiktok inspo tho. Love legally blonde and the cast is good. I think the week voculs is the mics problem
Billy and grace sound great to me aswell but they don’t really sing as much in this group. I don’t think this was the song to do at west end live. Should have gone with something more like so much better or legally blonde in my opinion, as Courtney has received a lot of hate for being mixed race and plus size, and I think that a song focused on her more would help to dispel the criticism
