Amen. Or at least a patch to sort out the bugs and balance the game a bit. They could have added a separate mode and let you choose on the menu screen.

I was excited to play it but then I remembered the random battles and changed my mind 😅 I need " turn off random encounters " option. I don't have the same patience I had when I was a kid

Yes this bugs me a lot too. This is my first time playing it and over the years JRPGs have mostly dealt with random encounters in various ways. I do like how the battles play out but loading in, out, and the general speed of it all in combination with the high encounter rate is a double whammy. They either need a speed up option or lower the rate. They didn't do any optimising with this.

There are items called charm potions that you can find or buy that reduce random encounters

@@VidVayder money is not as free flowing as you'd hope, but random encounters are important to levelling up your additions

if the optimized version was on vita I would buy it right this instant but I guess I will have to settle with the ps4 version and use remote play🙂

Yeah it would make a pretty good handheld game. Playing on a big TV exposes it a bit too much. TBH, I'm quite satisfied with the way it looks... the thing that hurts me and is making it hard for me to play is the script... it's pretty bad 😔

Yes. Although the animations are janky at times so it might not look like it. I did check my TV diagnostics and showed 4K 60.

No. Just a rewind feature. If I'm wrong I will update you but from what I can see in the pause menu there's no speed up. The game really needs it though with all those load screens and high frequency random battles!

There are some dodgy things going on. Not sure if you can see in the video (turn on 4K in RU-vid if you haven't yet) but sometimes I get a blue outline on some of the background textures, and at other times the objects in the background will jiggle. In general though I think it looks as good as a PS1 game can do on PS5, until they do a full remake on it. In terms of filters, I do like the 'retro classic' mode. It makes the game darker and moodier, and hides some of the flaws.

I can only turn up to 720P on RU-vid. I’m on iPhone 12 plus. Does the CGI cutscenes looks clear?

This game is almost unplayable for me, battles failing to load, or end on a permanent black screen. Dragoon magic soft locks the game. Please Sony, please fix this!!!

@@VidVaydereah the translation has always been bad. The glitches have to do with dragoon magic. Once you unlock dragoon forms that’s when the glitches and soft locks start, you’ll know what I’m talking about if you use Rose’s Astral drain. Such a shame , I really loved this game growing up and was looking forward to a definitive edition
