The final battle begins atop Hyrule Castle. The first phase of this fight involves battling with Princess Zelda, possessed by Ganondorf.
Anyone who has fought Ganondorf in previous titles knows how to win this battle; energy ball tennis! When he begins charging up a ball of magic above his head, get ready to knock it back and forth until it damages him. His other attacks include large triangular magic field on the floor that can be easily sidestepped, and a flying forward thrust that can also be dodged easily. This phase does not last very long, as you only need to damage the boss a few times before it ends.

The first boss in a Zelda game that I was hesitant to fight because I was worried that I was going to kill Zelda despite the fact Ganon was possessing her.

I just kept yelling French Revolutionary slogans throughout the fight so that I could pretend that I meant to do it in the case that I ended up accidentally killing her.

It's interesting how Link will purposely miss his arrows if you try to target her or shoot manually. I even tried using the hawkeye equipped with the bow, and the game will not let you hit her. Pretty neat how the game will actually go out of its way to prevent you from hitting her.

@@nightmare_symphony It's half and half. Targeting her makes you just barely miss her. Manually shooting her causes her to usually dodge or miss. Hawkeye results in misses every time. Bombs also miss.

Spoilers for ToTK Alright, we learn Ganondorf created a Zelda puppet who lead astray the four region, who was phantom ganon basically but I really hoped we would fight, in hyrule castle, this Zelda form first with her sage power, and then we got to fight phantom ganon.

Maybe it's because I grew up with Super Smash Bros:Brawl and we had Twighlight Princess at one point, but I've always preferred these appearances for Link, Zelda and Ganondorf over all others

This is my favorite version of her, despite not appearing much. She's been acting as an actual head of state since at least a bit before the game, too. Imagine how she _felt,_ after this boss fight, with Ganondorf controlling her body. Would have been interesting to get some dialogue about it from her to Link. He's escorting her back to the castle after Midna leaves, and she opens up about it, or something.

@ugly dog idk About botw’s Zelda being “an immature kid.” The backstory portrays her as being emotionally strong enough to deal with the death of her mom at the age of 6 without crying about it. Sure Zelda chased after studying the bots over awakening her magical powers or whatever, but the story established that she’s supposed to be responsible and a natural ruler.

Well, there's four phases, but yeah Zeldas never been the kind of game to prioritize difficulty over narrative. If you know what you're doing you can beat any boss pretty quickly

@@havenandaura Yeah, exactly! They focus less on the actual difficulty, and more on remembering things from the dungeons, or figuring out weak points. Because most of the boss fights are basically 'Remember something' puzzles.

I see this Ganondorf like the Ocarina of Time Ganondorf, but more agressive, and ignorant. Since this Ganondorf didn't fight Link before he didn't take action to stop him and underestimate him. Ganondorf from Wind Waker killed the two sages that kept the Master Swords power awaken so in case of the appearance of a hero, instead Ganondorf from Twilight Princess looks stronger to me, but he even said to Link that his blade was a very good one "but nothing more", he clearly didn't know to keep his guard up against Link.

A tactic that I learned from a video a long time ago before fighting this boss that I use to this day is when the light ball comes at you, unleash a jump strike. It bounces the ball back at Ganondorf in quick succession, not giving him time to reflect and ending the fight faster

Botw wanted to a chef/ Shield surfer /sand seal champion , Oot Ganondorf wanted to be a pianist /tennis player , and TP Ganondorf definitely wanted to be a tennis player , but since this damn Demise's curse , they are forced to fight eachother , but in reality they definitely wanted to pursue their dreams.
