It's maybe the best example I've seen of the KO being vastly superior to the original. IT Megatron is better than MP-36 and THF Magnus beats MP-22. But this is not a slight improvement. This is night and day.

Why does everybody pose bumblebee with his wings splayed out awkwardly? Hes not a crummy deluxe, they engineered his wings so they can stick out from the center of his back like in the movies.

Looks like it may still benefit from using EMGOS transformation method but will probably be a 1000 times less frustrating to get the cab, nose and doors to stay in place and perfectly lined up.

The color scheme of this one - "chromed" areas and all - actually reminds me of the old Buster Optimus Prime...I like it!! There needs to be an MPM Jetfire that can combine with it. Unless a third party beats them to it by making an upgrade kit. UPDATE 2020AUG31: Well, now. I finally got this beast. Apparently, there's been a running change or three. 1. Those blacked out windows? They ain't blacked out on my copy, they're clear. And the panels just behind the windshield are unpainted blue plastic. 2. The "angry eyebrow" wind vane panel on the left side doesn't rotate well. 3. That step to connect the hips to the bumper? It doesn't work on my copy, it ain't budging...so it can't reach.

There is an upgrade kit being made now, i just saw it on forum but maybe the release would not be that soon You can check the forum if you like, my opinion is that the upgrade kit for mpm 4/lt02 is better than fwi 3 www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/new-jet-power-upgrade-kit-for-mpm-4-optimus-prime.1119562/page-2

Just in case you guys didn't know...LT-02 suffers from severe QC issue and plastic quality issue, resulting a large number of buyers of the first batch of the product experiencing broken/missing pieces right out of package. The company (rumored as a sub-company of Weijiang) has officially apologized and promised to replace defected products, as well as fixing these issues in the new products. But I suggest people who intend to buy wait until they release their products with new packaging, just like what they did with LT01. Usually major issues will be fixed by then.

One of the legs of my LT02 was broken easily because the plastic was really crispy. Such issue has happened to many people in China. I've already returned it. I really doubt that the company has made some"perfect samples" with strong plastic for the video makers, but those figures made of frigile plastic are what we consumers received! Alert! Don't buy! We should buy it only if we can make sure that the use of material has already been fixed.

What I was concerned with, more so than the improved paint scheme, was if they fixed that stupid bullshit where the cab wouldn’t tab together properly like on the official Hasbro. And whaddyaknow, seems they fixed it. Consider me sold.

I don't know, I got one of the second runs of the MPM4 and this one looks like it tabs together about the same. I still see gaps under the windshields...

Yes, it has gaps under the windshield, but I'm pretty sure that’s inherent to the design with or without the other problems. If you notice, the little panels immediately in the front of the windshield now lay flush unlike before, the smokestacks actually meet up with the little pipe holders in the legs unlike before, and the sleeper at the back now completely squares itself off without any gaps. I saw a lot of copies of the MPM-04 that couldn't do that.

Jetpackman01 The design has tabs on it, though, that are supposed to plug into slots under the windshield, but they don't fit either version. Also, I can get the smokestacks on my mpm4 to plug into those little pieces, but then they're not flush on the sides, just like with this LT2.

I owe you for this one too, annoying transformation in that the chest tabs can either plug in on the folding insides or the chest itself but not both. All in all, fantastic gorgeous figure. Thanks ben :)

Ben, at some point, I would really appreciate a comparison shot between the original MPM-04, LT-02, LS-03 and Black Apple's Thunder Leader. From where I'm sitting (with none of these figures) it looks like the starkest differences between the latter three are just the size and that all are pretty good quality with excellent paint work.

Honestly, the flames look completely identical to the original as far as I can tell. That said, while the original MPM has the movie accurate detailing for the chest, the tinted windows do wonders in truck mode

the KO is what the real mpm op should have been ... and by the Primes, it cost less than the official. I wonder what Hasbro or Takara Tomy would think if they see this KO figure... or maybe they wouldn't care.

Great video Ben! I don't mind KOs that use different packaging, are upgrades to the original, & that aren't being sold at same time or a month or two after the official release. I'm glad you established the tabs behind the front wheels tabbing in correctly. This figure looks amazing! Why can't Takara give us this kinda paint theu seem to be pretty good at paint most of the time. I'm guessing Hasbro has something to do wth that.

If u buy *ANY VERSION* of MPM4, do *NOT* twist the ankles. I did. And the ankle snapped clean off. I even made a video showing what happened. But I fixed him in February 2019 and just solidified the fix yesterday on the 17th of October 2020. He is now transformable! Even made a vid showing that today and warned ppl in February 2019 as my first vid of the quality of the ankles.

I like the look and color of this one a lot more than the original. But they don't really seem to have ADDED anything. The tabbing still doesn't seem proper around the cab area. It still looks like it isn't sitting flush. That could just be how it looks here but it's still not enough to make me grab this guy i don't think. Maybe i will as i'm planning on scaling DOWN my movie figures and by that i mean the size of the figures. ROTF Leader Optimus just doesn't fit in terms of scale with the new Studio Series stuff and this guy is much much better than the Studio Series voyager Optimus. As always though, great look at this figure. I'm gonna have some thinking to do now

I guess the transformation and truck mode is improved, and the improved paint job is a given. But you're right that something really could've been added. One thing that comes to mind is an improved back assembly, like the one that black apple is working on. He could also have benefitted from a second blaster, hooks, and the option to give him his dotm abs.

Do we know if the Black Apple/Weijiang version is being upscaled to match MPP10 and M01? If that were the case, then I'm all in for the big one and i'll hold off on this one. I like this one, but the differences between it and the MPM04 (which I already have) mean I just can't rationalize a double dip.

More point does look better, and feel more premium. But less paint means i dont have to worry about scratching it when i play with my figures(as jobby once said, and play with it.....i does(i know my grammar’s wrong, just tryna trigger some grammar nazis)

I’ve heard of people snapping off the feet of MPM Optimus Prime, or at least the Legendary Toys one for now. Any advice on how to avoid this issue or a way of fixing the feet should they snap off?

Looks like they fixed the tall forehead. I couldn't tell if the roof pieces are in the right way with the one... I'm considering getting this but even at the end it doesn't look like it all tabs together well. There are still gaps under the windshields and the smokestacks weren't flush along the sides. I might just wait for the Black Mamba Optimus Prime...

Anyone holding out for weijiang because some sites have it listed as being leader/standard mp scale, don't waste your time. This is weijiangs standard version. They're the same company. The black Apple/weijiang version is oversized. It's the same size as their evasion mode os. I'd love this figure in g1 colors and an alternative head sculpt that's less insect looking, like the new prime design for bumblebee that seems to be a mix between this,idw and g1. I'd gladly buy the mold a second time from legendary.

This is the Legendary Toys LT02 knockoff of MPM04 Optimus Prime. The Legendary Toys version has fully painted fuel tanks.

I've got the original mpm 4 just 3 weeks ago. Yesterday one of the doors just broke of it's hinge. I'm very, very dissapointed in Takara Tomy.

Hey Ben, I have a secret to fix the loose parts especially for the fingers.. I use a paper glue called "povinal" (it turns from liquid to a kind of soft rubber when it's dry). Don't know what the name is in your country. It is cheap.. about 2000 rupiahs in Indonesia, 15000 rupiahs are equal to 1 US buck. It won't be like a hard resin glue, so we can still move up and down the fingers after this process. Hope can help..

M01 is Larger, this figure is about 10.5 inches while M01 is 11.8 inches, I think M01 scales well with MPM BB than this one.

I have 4 problems with this. 1.the head is way too small. 2. The abs part is to big. 3. The smokestacks are a bit small. 4. The tabbing in truck mode. Keep in mind this is my opinion.

LT said that the first batch that was shipped in china is defective, i think they were the test subject for crashing, though they distrubute it but they have an official statement for replacement and promise the second batch wont suffer too, they stated april 20 for next shipment

Question for anyone: I know that problems with the grill on the soles of the feet falling off and the loose backpack and smokestacks not tabbing in were common problems... I have all three of those issues with my copy and I have considered snagging another one in hopes of getting one that isn't quite as defective. But that is such a crapshoot. Do you also have any/all of these issues? Do you think the odds are against you getting one that *doesn't* have those problems?

Just came here to ask you guys which one is more durable. I've seen lots of LT-02 reviews and it has a serious problem on the swivels of the ankles but i saw no MPM-04 reviews on the same matter . The swivels are just empty inside like straw which makes ,together with paint job, (better paint job but too tight to swivel the feet) it easy to break. If MPM -04 has the same problem then there is no difference but if the swivel is filled up inside not like LT-02's then that will tell something about durability

Back and 4th swivel or side to side? Either way, i got the japan version, and it has perfectly tight enough ankle joints, but not to the point of stress or breakage, so i dunno about the murica. Tru release or the lt release
